    Not really excited, no. I'm a huge fan of the series, watched all episodes, but the power of 24 has always been:

    * the realtime effect
    * the full day concept

    No 2 hour movie can achieve both, and Redemption demonstrated that perfectly.

    I'm excited because I wasn't a fan of the way they ended series 8

    I always thought Season 1 was the BEST. The fact that it started at midnight and the first 7-9 hours were in the dark gave it a surreal feeling. Also it ended at night as well. The shocking ending also did it for me.

    I don't know about it being the absolute best but I agree that it was the only season to really capture the feeling of a 24 hour period. By the end you could see Jack was exausted. In subsequent seasons he looks the same at the start and at the end.

    Well, in season 2 he seemed pretty exhausted, but he'd developed a (later ignored) heart condition during the season. I just assume that his experiences during seasons 1 & 2 (and everything in-between and before, according to the books/comics/game) had taught him that he needed to be alert and aware for 24 hours.

    Four months away from filming and no director.

    This film will be good.

    Todja! ;) The clock has been stopped - for now:

    Touch will have to finish first, then this'll get made. It could be three films as well.

    Older action heroes are all the rage today... There's no issue.

    That stinks. The only reason I was content with how Season 8 ended is because I thought we were getting a movie to tie up loose ends!

    With Touch about to be no more you never know but all this "we're ending the series to do the movie" has come back to bite them on the arse and it serves them right. Rubbish ending now, if that's all we get.

    Damn. I wanted the film. :(

    Season 8 ended like it ended just because of it.

    I'm convinced we'll get the film sooner or later. Season 8's ending CAN'T be the real end and I don't think the cast and crew will let it be the ending. Let's hope for the best

    I was doubtful of a 24 movie in the first place. Plus, I've gotten over the ending ever since the airing of the final episode.

    What would you guys say was the best or top 3 seasons?

    I haven't watched the last two seasons... yet. Of the ones I have seen, season one and three are my favorites. Season two was the worst.

    Hmm, I'd rank seasons 1.3 and 5 as my top three I think.

    2, 4 and 6 stand with me as the best seasons.

    I don't even remember season 6. Is that the one with Jack's brother and dad?

    I guess I have too. I imagine Jack helping kids in other countries kinda like he did in Redemption. Still on the run though.

    Jack's ending was almost as Bond and Vesper. He retired from his job but the woman he loved has been killed. It's sad how those endings... end. :|

    BREAKING:
    http://m.deadline.com/2013/05/24-eyes-return-as-limited-series-on-fox-kiefer-sutherland-in-talks/

    24 to possibly return!

    I for one, would be all for this as a movie is obviously not happening at this point and they CAN'T leave the end of season 8 as the series finale
