I wonder if those people who screamed 'there's no global warming, look, there's more snow this year' from last winter are now saying there's no global warming because the storms are getting more and more ferocious just like those politically biased evil liberal socialist communist scientist said they would......

anyway, Trum's got himself in an impossible triangle now with the Khassoggi killing. Today the Saoudi's are doing a Putin: It was Saoudis in the embassy, he needed to be interrogated but it wasn't the official Saoudi's and the purpetrators will be found!! (because they were paid for by the prince!).

You know, the saoudi's that Trump has no business ties with because they only bought apartments in his towers for millions.

He can of course side with Recep 'Journalists belong in jail' Erdogan, the next dictator-to-be in Turkey.

It's a good thing Trump doesn't have a moral compass.

One of the biggest lies of modern politics, is that tax cuts for the rich will boost the economy and benifit the workers. There has never been proof of it, and the effect is usually the opposite. Yet the economical elite has managed to convince the working class it has to be that way. Now the US are yet again facing increased deficits thanks to Republican tax cuts... just like with the Bush's.

  • Yes, but what are you trying to SAY, Thunderfinger?

Here's what I'm saying: everybody that's eligible to vote in the USA: vote Blue. Once Trump and his enablers are gone we can go back to whatever passes for normal; we can search for the perfect candidate until Connery comes back to the Role, but right now it's Blue nothing but blue. The blue wave needs to be a Blue Tsunami to overcome the various types of Voter Suppression and Trumpoid misinformation and Russian meddling and Saudi journalist killing (with a few petrobucks to make the bitter taste go away) that we've come to know and loathe. We can do it; we MUST do it and we WILL do it. Vote Blue in 2018 if you want to be able to vote any other color but Red ever again.

Yes, you are right, @BeatlesSansEarmuffs - the votes need to be overwhelming to overcome the voter suppression. There is voter suppression happening in various states. People can read a variety of sources on that.
Here is Lyft stepping up and helping people get to vote ...

As for Khashoggi ... that poor man. The news keeps coming, Turkey keeps spilling details, and it is not going quietly away. Do we believe everything Turkey says? I don't know, but here's hoping more proof is given over time. It would be good to get to the basic truth of what happened to this journalist.

So for your entertainment, to lighten the mood a bit.
As Trump is upping his rhetoric and flat out lies now, here is conservative Rick Wilson not falling prey to Trump's petty fear mongering/stoking of racism (which is exactly what Trump is doing). Also the replies in that have an interesting bit showing the QAnon crowd going nuts again.

OK, hang on ... the QAnon bit is part of this bit here:
  • Emergy = Fake spelling!
  • Oh, and re: the Khashoggi mess: Trump is up a creek no matter which way he looks. Turkey's got the whole thing on tape (did the Saudi's really think they could do this on Turkish soil & get away with it? Forget that "foreign embassy is a sovereign space" nonsense!) & they're just holding back from releasing the true, gruesome facts of the matter to put maximum pressure on the US & the Saud family. Not for the first time, Trump's backroom double-dealing and economic links to.....questionable sources (lookin' at you, Vlad!)....is causing the USA no end of embarrassment. When are we going to get wise & boot this crook out of office?

You have to wait another two years and a month for your chance. Blue wave or not, you're still stuck with Donnie until then.
  • Maybe yes, maybe no. Just because Democratic politicians are eager to take impeachment off the table doesn't mean their constituents feel the same way. More to the point of potential reality though, I've been expecting Trump (overweight as he is, existing on McDonalds, Diet Coke and KFC as he does) to have a stress-related stroke at any time. Not that I generally hope for ill health to most folks -- but for him I wouldn't shed a tear.

Trump is dirty. And I don't mean Bill Clinton dirty, I mean TREASONOUS dirty. Watch it unfold, my friends. This will not be pretty.

If you think only one side of the political spectrum is 'treasonous,' you're mistaken. Just because Trump's tactics can be seen through glass windows doesn't mean others aren't doing similar things behind solid doors. Just as the US does things to influence the politics in other nations, other countries have been at work doing the same here long before 2016...

The chances of Trump being impeached are no greater than when there was talk of Obama being impeached. (Remember that absurdity?) Why impeach and get Pence when you can keep using it as a talking point to rally the base? This seems to be the most used tactic of today by both paties...agitate with no intent to follow through...

IF there is a blue wave, things will BE followed through. And Trump will lose what little fortune he has left. He makes Bill look like a saint. And Bill was no such thing.

Impeachment is irrelevant when it would put gay-hating Pence in the seat. I agree, Democrats need to drop the idea, focus on the midterms and work on getting rid of Trump in 2020.

I think it is time to stop pretending both parties are "as bad as each other". The Democrats are no saints, but compared to how the GOP have been acting over the last couple of decades, there is no real comparison. And they seem to only be getting worse...

Exactly. And Trump's treasonous actions are WAY over any line the Democrats have ever drawn. He needs to be impeached just to show that some types of behavior are unacceptable. I understand the political calculus that concludes "better to keep him there to use as a club to bash the Republican party as a whole with in 2020" -- but he honestly DOES deserve to be locked up, and to see him inciting crowds of easily manipulated followers into chants of "Lock her up! Lock her up!" (why always "Her," I wonder -- first Hillary, sure, but now Elizabeth Warren or Dianne Feinstein or Nancy Pelosi, for no reason I can think of other than to try to intimidate women out of politics altogether) -- it just makes my blood boil. A true president should try to bring the American people together, not drive us apart as this bloated toad does on a routine basis. The sooner he is out of office the better for the entire world, not just the USA.

But, don't all the history books show the National Socialist movement in Germany to pretty similar to the Reichstag it replaced, except that Hitler's tactics could be seen through glass windows?
    (the above is sarcasm, btw...)
Yeah, anyone who doesn't see a VAST difference between the two is just a rabid team player who's objectivity is lost to their label. At this point in history, the Democratic PARTY needs to be taken out back for a serious beating whereas the Republican PARTY needs to be put in the Phantom Zone.

In what way? Do you honestly believe there aren't Democrats colluding with other nations to influence world events (elections, etc. - ahm, Ukraine)?
  • edited October 2018 Posts: 3,566
Yes, the intelligence services of many nations have covertly been trying to effect events in other nations since the dawn of recorded history. We do it, they do it, yatta yatta. But I honestly do believe that Trump's election is the first time a US politician has accepted help from a rival nation to win his own election...and it's common knowledge that Trump's been taking money from Russia for decades, so he, quite literally, is in Putin's pocket. If you think the Democrats have ever done anything similar I'm afraid the burden of proof is on you. Put plainly, and a little cynically, I may not like the fact that US intelligence has been mucking around with other countries' internal affairs, but that's the way the game is played. I AM royally pissed that our chief international rival has SUCCEEDED in placing their asset in the office of the President, and I want to see that sad fact fixed. As soon as possible, and by any means necessary. As far as I'm concerned, Trump is quite literally a traitor and so is anyone who supports him.

Half the population needs to be locked up.

Not NEARLY half. Maybe 25 - 30%, tops. And many of THOSE aren't okay with the treason, they're just too stupid to believe anything but FoxNews, so I'd give them probation & community service.

Exactly. They just haven t watched the proper news, so who can blame them?

There IS no 'proper' news... you need to watch & read it all, or at least a lot of different ones. Then use intelligence to rule out the propaganda & fake stuff. Sadly, stupid people have neither the time nor inclination for that... they go for the easiest to digest quickly. FoxNews is slick as doody, and tastes twice as good.

I have cut out all the news channels that I know are just propaganda, and that have been caught lying numerous times.

And which ones would you consider to be truthful?
