To respond to the notion that this thread has become "All Trump-bashing, all the time," I'd reply, no, there's some Trump bashing & some Trump defending. Maybe there are more people posting anti-Trump messages than there are people trying to defend him... but I suspect there's probably a good reason for that. Also, astute watchers may have noticed that my own posts are sometimes leavened with bits of (what passes for in these parts) humor and pop-culture references. This is entirely intentional, as Beatles do not live by politics alone. Heck, sometimes we even throw in some music...

My logic has always been that I really don’t care if you’re gay, bi, trans, lesbian etc but don’t force that on to me.

I've been to Mexico and yes, the gang violence is definately as bad as you say in some places there. That's why you have so many illigal immigrants in the first place, they're fleeing the violence. It was Trump who didn't want a deal to stop them coming in because it meant giving the dreamers a chance to stay. A wall from coast to coast won't stop the violence, it won't stop people trying to find asylumn in the USA and it certainly won't stop the drug cartels.
Oh, ad that Bernie Sanders video, he's just telling what he saw, and he was impressed. Rightfully so, Moscow is a beautiful city with many beautiful buildings and the communist had an education system second to none. My wife is from a former soviet republic and I can tell you this: I wish our schooling system was that good, and we consider ours to be a lot better than the one the USA has.
It's not like the Soviets would show American visitors the workers in the factories or the famine stricken countryside, just as much as your President isn't showing the slums of Philadelphia to foreign visitors......

It’s not safe for my Mom, my sister or my girlfriend to use the women’s bathroom right now. Not uncommon to see men in the women’s restrooms who use that to perv on women..

I have provided factual information from very good sources. I am very open to having productive conversations with actual meaning. If some of you just want to shout “fake news”, “must be a conspiracy” etc etc then I don’t even need to respond to your stupidity or your dumb insults.

I try to be civil but when you’re getting ganged up on and constantly attacked.. Name calling etc then that’s when the mods need to step in and start deleting comments and to give out warnings.
I am probably one of the few members who has been here for 13 years now on MI6 and the mods have always been good about stepping in and stopping the name calling/personal attacks.
I’ll admit I got a little carried away and shouldn’t have responded.
Although lurking on here for the past 6 months and not posting has shown me this thread is just a Trump bashing thread. Personal opinions and conversations are one thing but it got way out of hand.
You are correct, sir; we probably should step in a little faster in the case of namecalling and such. Anti-Trump or pro-Trump opinions are, however, merely opinions. If the thread looks like a Trump bashing fest, well then that's an indication of more members having negative feelings towards the man than positive ones. Obviously, there's little we can do about that or want to do about that.

All I did was try to discuss in a civil manner, that my post is appreciated by others is nice to know, but shouldn't interfere with a normal discussion or put pressure on any party now should it? As a fellow long-standing member of this site (also joined in 2006) it would be nice not to be insulted in such a manner.
It's an interesting move. The Norwegians have been smart enough to put the profits of their oil- and gas exploration into a state fund which in turn is used to bankroll eduacation and innovation. AFAK it's this fund that has large shares in all the oil-and gas companies that exploit the Norwegian natural resources. Apparently they're confident the oil prices, (and thus stocks) will fall as more reneweable energy is used. Therefore they're going to diversify.
