That would be scary and too be honest interesting if that were a true representation of the "Rise of the Bears".

Actually they do have strict gun laws. You can’t open carry, have to be 21, also have to have a license and then a concealed license. You can have a gun in your car but it has to be unloaded. Most of the guns used in the African American gang shootings are illegal and banned. You can goto liveleak and watch videos of the drive bys and gang wars. Definitely a lot of assault rifles. Footage is graphic but you get the picture. A lot of people buy guns from different states at gun shows then sell them on the streets. I guess you could also argue it’s more of a gang issue but either way banning guns isn’t the answer. Is a mass shooter going to say damn I can’t legally buy a gun so I guess I can’t kill people?

With his collection of 50 knifes he would have a far tougher job killing people than his 50 rifles and assorted boomsticks.

The gun issue has spun far out of control and is having its inevitable conclusion, there are nowhere in the world as much victims of gun related deaths.

More guns are clearly not a solution and letting it continue is neither, sooner or later somebody must step up and take some logical steps to stop this massacre of people.

It must be a sad conclusion to realize that there are annually more deaths in the US as casualties in the foreign wars that the US is currently fighting. It makes sense going to war, you have a far better chance surviving being shot. ;)

You do realize most school shootings that occur are from illegal guns? The students steal guns from other people and did not illegally obtain them. Las Vegas Should’ve had better security. People laugh at that but no one should be allowed to bring 20 assault rifles into a luxury hotel in Vegas. Most of the guns carried by Chicago gangbangers are from the black market. Meaning that the thugs do not have permits to even have them.

You could ban guns sure but that wouldn’t stop criminals from finding a way to obtain them.

The Vegas shooter also had a bomb in his car. Aren’t bombs illegal?

    - 'You do realize that most school shootings that are occur are from illegal guns? The students steal guns from other people'

Which begs the question; why is it so easy for American students to steal guns? Probably because guns are so common and so many people have them? Possibly? Probably?

Ironically the NRA's offered solution to the problem of school shootings is to make sure more teachers are equipped with guns... which would make them even easier to get hold off for students... Genius!

Might as well legalize those as well.

It's just a matter of semantics to suggest a teenage mentalist nicking a legally obtained gun from his old man's gun cabinet means that it is therefore not legally his.

And as the Vegas shooter's guns were all legally obtained congratulations for undermining your own point within two sentences.

At least you concede that people shouldn't be allowed to bring 20 guns into a hotel. That's a step in the right direction. Obviously to say you can't bring any guns at all into a hotel would be going way too far the other way so how about we deal on an allowance of 10 per hotel room booking? Who could argue with common sense policies like that?

So if gun laws don't play a part in any of this, can you offer a good explanation to these statistics?

    https://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/06/14/upshot/compare-these-gun-death-rates-the-us-is-in-a-different-world.html

I'd be curious to know what your theory is...

Eh? Are you actually reading your own words? How about banning those same guns in the other states as well? And make it illegal to possess a gun unless you're member of a shooting club? And then you should be thoroughly checked? Then it's a lot harder to obtain those 'illegal' guns (which apparently are legal just a couple of miles down the road) and police could actually arrest those gang members on possession alone. It works, the rest of the world already tried it!

Why is it so hard for Americans to understand facts? You know, it's fine by me, keep your gun laws, but then stop whining about mass shootings. That's what you get with the road you've chosen. You can't have your cake and eat it.

Just woke up in NYC and turned the telly on and as it's Sunday there's about 20 channels with some Prof Joe Butcher clone telling people that all the ills in the world are down to sin and Satan and all they have to do to be saved is call with their credit card details.

One guy just blamed the hurricane on man's sinfulness FFS. Utterly terrifying and you can bet that 99.9% of those watching would die rather than give up their guns.

Thank Christ I've just found Match of the Day on another channel.

    Whats happened in NYC ?!

New York shooting incident: Suspect held.

A suspect has been arrested in New York after people were reportedly shot by the driver of a car.
Police said they made the arrest after responding to "reports of shots fired" near the West Side Highway in Lower Manhattan.
They urged people to avoid the area as a major emergency services operation was under way.
Unconfirmed reports on social media suggest a man drove at cyclists in a cycling lane before opening fire.
The number of casualties is at present unknown

Ironically just left the 9/11 museum and was crossing West St a block away when we were ordered out of there by the police and legged it.

Missus didn't fancy the subway so had to schlep across Brooklyn Bridge back to the hotel. Just hope the airport doesn't go into lockdown as our flight leaves in 3 hrs.

@barryt007 From what I understand, none of the deaths came from the shooting, but from when the truck pushed the other truck in the cyclist lane and ran over several bystanders.

Already confirmed a man drove a truck in a crowd and killed 8. Police arrived fired shots and injured him. Most likely a radical Muslim because they said it’s terrorism.

Muslim hires a van and runs people over. So commonplace these days Beeb news has just given it a cursory 5 mins at the top of the hour before branching off into the far more pressing issue du jour of sexual harassment.

apparently 5 Argentinians and 1 Belgian were amongst the eight killed, and 12 more are in hospital.

Glad you're safe @TheWizardOfIce!! That was a close call!!

At least he didn't have real guns, so the only one getting shot was him. Good job the police didn't kill him, so he'll have the remainder of his life in misery thinking about what he did.

    Cheers mate.

This mug could only manage to be the second closest I've come to being killed by terrorists. As the peerless Cary Grant says in NBNW 'I'm sorry old man. Too bad, keep trying.'

I guess just being a good boy and dying is one trick I've never learned.

To be fair the prick did me a favour as Mrs W was heading towards the rather pricey looking Brookfield Mall at the time so managed to swerve both an hour of women's clothes shopping and paying for it too!

Good to see NYC just keeping calm and carrying on with their Halloween festivities. That's the best way to deal with these arseholes.
