Low key media coverage on this in the UK, we are becoming used to these attacks, the danger is , they will have to "up their game" now if they want to make the front page.

Another mass shooting which isn't caused by readily availeable guns. I wonder why the congegation didn't fire back? That church ought to've been packed with guns.

Texas governor Greg Abbott said: "Our prayers are with all who were harmed by this evil act.'

Phew. At least he's come up with a sensible workable solution.

Given banning guns is too wacky a notion here's an idea for the religious loons: why not pray now in advance of the next attack that it doesn't happen again rather than waiting till people are dead?

Or how about praying that God raises them from the dead instead of just general prayer? Why should Lazarus be the only one who gets such privileges?

Well this place is an hour and a half away from where I live. I know people who live in the community. Very small town. I have passed by it. The church actually posts videos on their YouTube page of their services. Sad to think many of the people in their videos are now dead. A lot of kids under the age of 5... People are claiming a man entered wearing full body armor and had an asenal of weapons. The town has a population of around 650-670..

I heard some people say a church goer chased the shooter down in a car and killed him but also hearing a cop killed him. Maybe it was an off duty cop? No idea.. Pretty crazy and weird to think this would happen in an extremely small town.

If only there was an octogenarian in the congregation packing a gattling gun this could do easily have been avoided hmm?

What we need in public places is someone handing out guns as you go in just so everyone is tooled up so they can protect themselves properly.

    It's just common sense.

Well a church goer killed him before he could kill more.. I don’t think they even have their own police in the town.
Closet town is eleven minutes away though.

UPDATE: They are now saying suspect might’ve been an illegal Mexican who converted to Islam.. No idea if it’s true.
San Antonio does have a lot of illegals. The entire town is basically Mexico. Wouldn’t be surprised. Although the Islam part is fishy!

Yep, if there's one lesson to take from today - thank goodness for guns, eh?

Did we find out whether that claim he was an illegal Mexican immigrant converted to Islam was accurate?

yes, its bullshit as usual. But it is quite certain that this loony got his paws quite easily on guns and whatnot.

    Up to the next shooting.

Because as outsiders we can see how batshit insane your country's stance on guns actually is. The rest of the world would be laughing at you if so many of you weren't dying because of it.

Defend your country's ridiculous stance on gun control all you want but don't expect those of us who live in the civilised world to understand or respect your opinion.

You've just made a mug of yourself there mate:

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/nov/06/this-isnt-a-guns-situation-says-trump-after-texas-church-shooting

POTUS has spoken: 'Nothing to do with guns.' So you see we're all idiots for even thinking there's a connection.

There's a simple checklist for these things to help you realise if there's a problem or not:

If the perpetrator is white it's the act of a lone nutter and there's nothing anyone could do to stop it so no need to change the law or crack down on fundamentalist Christians or anything like that.

If the perpetrator is brown then it's an act of terror and knee jerk laws need to be brought in such as draconian immigration policies and concrete bollards on every street corner.

(Interesting to note that the installation of said bollards everywhere but not bulletproof glass or free bullet proof vests seems to suggest that they think cars are a bigger threat than guns yet do the math(s) more dead every year from guns than 9/11)

Yes. The fact that gun related violence is ridiculously much more common in the US than in any other ''sivilized" country, has obviously nothing to do with gun laws. So there is only one logic sollution left: Americans are simply more crazy and mentally unstable than the rest of us! I don't know who is to blame... but it's probably Obama

Don't get me wrong here as I like America a lot. But? When I see the constant Presidents lay down the law around the world with regards to weapons of any nature? I find it beggars belief they flatly refuse to sort out the gun laws and ownership at home.

So once again this isn't the time to talk about gun policies and it wasn't the guns fault, only the shooter? I guess I'll see you guys in this thread in a few weeks when another mass shooting happens... that is if I'm not one of the victims.

Oh don't worry, the rate is also much higher then uncivilized countries. That's the amazing thing about it! Take South Africa, famous for it's car jakings, but with 8.3 deaths per 100.000 people still doing about 20 percent better then the USA. Mexico? Those killers who rape and take over every job in the USA? Nope, still doing better at 7.64. The USA has the lovely rate of 10.54 deaths per 100k. But it must be an American thing, as the top-scoring countries are all South American, except for Swaziland.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate

But it's good to know that the American gun laws are fine. After 27 deaths and another 20 wounded someone shot back and got the b.......... So well done gun laws! See, if only more people should back faster! 27 dead! Out of a parish of about 50!

It was illegal for the shooter to even own a gun.. Read this article. So he actually wasn’t even legally allowed to own a gun. He still managed to get one. Ban guns though because that’ll solve the problem. Apparently the media only cares if it’s a white man shooting people up. No need to worry about the 600+ deaths in Chicago currently.

So this shooter did nothing wrong, and assuming he hadn't killed himself/gotten shot by armed police, should just walk away free without any trial or jail time?
