It was disallowed. Good call by Coach Torts.

CBJ ties it up! Caps will be blaming this one on the refs if they win, I've no doubt.

Surprised CBJ held it to 2-1 after all those penalties and SOG in the final few minutes. If they want to have any legs in the series, they have got to start watching those penalties. Could still be tied if not for that 5-on-3.

    TIED!

True, the penalties are killing them. But they've got the momentum right now.

No shots on goal during the power play. That hurts.

Congrats to the Golden Knights for sweeping the Kings. Pretty impressive to complete a sweep, no matter who is playing.

I'm surprised but not shocked. Too many good players on each team that Vegas was able to pick from, not to mention Florida gift wrapping Reilly Smith and Marchesaullt for nothing but I can't blame Vegas for jumping on that as well with Gallant. I can only fault Florida's management and ownerships ineptitude in letting them all go there and look at the success. Slightly bitter because in a sense, this could have been Florida with a little more patience. I'm glad to see Washington win, only so this series, which is the best of the round so far to maybe head to 6 or 7.

Hoping CBJ can get the next win at home to keep the Caps on their toes for the rest of the series. Congratulations to the VGK - their defense really kept the Kings limited throughout, as did the amazing Fleury.

You've got that right! They really turned up the pressure and shots after Malkin made it 1-0, just for a nice little 2-on-1 breakaway to make it 2-0. Let's make it 3-1 tonight!

I want the Flyers burnt by the end of this game.

Finish them in the Pens house in Game 5.

Sid and the boys get to rest, and prep, for Round Two.

The Pens look like a machine right now.

@FoxRox -- I so love so many things you say about Bond... And i really LOVE what you say about the Flyers... But...- guns aimed-

Don't. Speak. Bad. About. The Pens.

That's been my line of thinking the past few days, particularly after they won the first one in Philly: win again in Game Four, go home and win it in front of the home crowd, then get a couple extra days to relax before Round Two.

    Honestly, Philly looks minor-league

Sorry. I have a bad association with Pittsburgh, even though I loved living in a different part of Pennsylvania once. Mostly those awful Steelers...

All Philly hasta do now is roll over and show their belly...

And @FoxRox -- all in good fun (but F-the Steelers and embrace the best hockey player today: Sidney Crosby:

Flyers fans acting like the refs are the reason for a 17-6 goal differential over four games. Pfft. And this is why I love watching the Flyers get crushed into the dirt.

That fourth goal is Crosby's 173rd playoff point, the most in Penguins history. Overtakes Lemieux's 172, and is now the 17th all-time in the NHL in playoff points.

He could retire today, and enter the Hall of Fame tomorrow.

I'm 44 and watched Gretzky, Lemieux, Jagr, Messier, Lindros... all those guys. Sid is my fave of all time. He has the Great One's premonition, Lemieux's raw talent, Messier's drive to lead, Jagr's longevity and fitness...

he is the most complete player I have ever had the pleasure to watch -- and it only took me this year to see Sid live (a real treat).

I certainly hope he has Jagr's longevity: I'd love to see him on the ice for another decade (or more). I still hear rumblings of Jagr possibly returning to the NHL next season. Insane. If he does, hope he brings that rocking mullet with him.

I got to see him about two years back against Washington, was good fun. He didn't score that game but Malkin did, which is always a treat.

what's amazing: only one point separated these two teams in the regular season... Now an ocean separates them.

    They are not comparable teams.

@Creasy47 -- considering how many times Crosby has been concussed and has come back STRONGER, that's what I meant by Jagr's fitness and longevity-- not necessarily years, I'm afraid...

Not at all. The Pens just become a different team (as if they weren't already pretty great this season) come playoff time. They're a force to be reckoned with.

Ahh OK, I see what you mean. I agree. Would love to see Crosby's stats if he hadn't missed so much due to those concussions. Funny that Ovechkin has only six more career points than Crosby, though the former has played almost 150 games more.

Crosby is a beast. I have a feeling that personal stats come a distant second to Cups and medals won.

That also separates him from the others; and that’s what elevates him into, and above, Messier-type heights

No doubt. Can't wait to see how much more he manages to achieve in the coming decade.

Fourth shutout in the past six playoff games (going back to last post-season) for Murray tonight! Now go home and win it.

Makes it worse to see how Philly is playing knowing that Florida would have put up more of a fight with whoever they played. Damn loser points got Philly in

Jump on them fast back home, get them out of the game by the end of the first period, and then lock them out.

The Pens are on the verge of going to the second round for the 11th time in 12 years— pretty amazing. That’s good management ; kept building a team around Crosby and Malkin and Letang and Fleury and now Murray.

Edmonton Oilers should look at the Pens playbook.

Toronto will be in tough tonight. Since Monday this city has been buzzing with nerves and anticipation; all Leafs all the time. First words in conversation at the gym, all about the team, pros and cons of the last game...

The forwards will hafta bury the slower, older Bruins quickly. But if you let their top line dictate, we will be sunk.

So what do we think about tonight: will the Bruins and Blue Jackets go up 3-1 and be that much closer to the second round, or will the Maple Leafs and Capitals tie things up and force a Game 6?

It also seems that the Devils may not have defenseman Vatanen for Game 5 tomorrow, while Couturier is possible for Game 5 against the Pens. Hornqvist is confirmed to be out for the Pens in Game 5, too.
