Having seen the various art for these prints, I wish they'll do release The Blofeld Trilogy soon, specifically YOLT. All these books will be mine when I can fork up the money.

PussyNoMore does normally charge for his marketing advice but If The Folio Society would speed up their release schedule, make Moonraker the next launch and sell Dalton's art framed, he will accept 10% of print sales in lieu of his normal fee!

I hope they listen to you. Another big Moonraker fan here, and just imagine the artwork possibilities!

PussyNoMore thanks Agent_99;741713 for his support.
'Moon raker' would give rise to phenomenal artwork opportunities. Drax, Blades, the rocket - the possibilities are endless.
Let's hope they listen to a combination of common sense and good taste!

I think we are all hoping that Moonraker will be the next release. I for one sure am, it's going to look fantastic and so should Gala Brand. Can't wait.

Nice interview. I was wondering whether they'd revisit LALD. I have that edition and it really sticks out amongst the other three. With FRWL and DN done (two of my favourites I'd want folio to do anyway!) Moonraker or OHMSS would be the next two.
  • These look like very cool editions. I especially love the artwork in Dr. No. Might have to pick that one up. For the rest of the novels, I can see YOLT and TMWTGG in particular offering some very cool opportunities for artwork.

Good call - definitely on YOLT! That could be the jewel in the crown if they get it right. They are wonderful editions to have. Along with the James Bond Archives book - Folio books really do stand out from the pack.

Great to hear that they've wrestled Fay down to do the whole lot in the end.

I'm on the Moonraker train, and hope that one is next. Folio mentioned going back to the proper order of the books and, skipping Live & Let Die, that would put it next. I'd love to see Fay's replication of the rocket, the cliff collapse, Drax and his crazy Germans, the car chase and of course Blades. Many great opportunities for amazing art.

Would love to get my hands on some Folio Society Bond books, but I fear that they would be more or less untouched, as the collection looks to good to read from! Buying two copies of each title seem expensive too...

@Torgeirtrap, exactly my thoughts. I'd happily litter a study with big prints of Fay's illustrations, but shelling out money for books I'd be scared to bend the binding of or smudge is a no-go. ;)

The worst feeling of reading a book, is when you in a careless moment put to much pressure on the book, and the spine gives. Can't do that with books like these!

Books are made to be read, PussyNoMore views the untouched library with suspicion.
It's the sought of thing Goldfinger would have done. Buy things just to look at them.

PussyNoMore reads his collection on a regular basis and once sat down with his cherished Bentley addition of CR only to discover that four hours latter he'd read the whole damn thing again. What a trip that was!

You're my kind of guy, @PussyNoMore. Imagine if Bond had the same notions about beautiful women as people do about collectible and untouchable books?

That's exciting. True to their word, it appears that Folio are going to release the books in order from here on out.

YESSS! One for the Christmas list. (My mum got me CR for my birthday as requested, after a bit of "you're going to be forty, wouldn't you like some jewellery or something?")

There are definitely books in my collection that are well-read, but these Folio Society books are just too gorgeous. Can't have these kind of books – I don't know, lying in a pile on the floor or something. Kind of like the books in Bond's apartment in SP! This is unfortunately the case of half my book collection these days...

This is great news - PussyNoMore is ordering it as we speak. Fay Dalton’s visuals look stunning.
Going forward, Live & Let Die should be next purely because if Dalton stops, for any reason, and Folio are obliged to find another artist, it would be nice for Fay to be associated with the editions up to .......
Hopefully this won’t happen and she’ll complete the catalogue but you never know and Folio have already alluded to her availability/capacity determining their release schedule.

I'm a huge fan of Fay Dalton's work. I do hope her association with Bond is vastly expanded.

I hope so too. For a start I wouldn't mind if she does all the Covers for the comic adaptions of Flemings novels at Dynamite.

For anyone who is unaware she did the cover for the first Adaption of Casino Royale which will be released in the next couple weeks.

For some reason I thought Fay was a dude. :)

That was my mistake, too, at first. :)) I thought Faye would've been the female rendition of the name, so I assumed Fay was a man until somebody corrected me a while ago.

How on earth have these passed me by, they're gorgeous. These HAVE to be in my collection.
  • For Bond aficionados, these are an absolute must.
If you are a collector, you just need them because they are going to be the next desirable.
If you haven't started your collection because you are either too young, a little strapped for cash or have been simply asleep at the switch - the folio editions are a fabulous place to start. Extremely high quality, beautifully illustrated and quite reasonably priced.
PussyNoMore gives them his cherished 5 star seal of approval.
