New releases in general or specifically new Bond releases? Because Folio releases a batch of books in early September as well. My money is on October though, for above mentioned reasons.
Thanks for that incisive breakdown @00Agent ! These editions are the only Bond merch I'm picking up in the last few years so I'm looking forward to each release.
LALD will be next? So I guess we have OHMSS and YOLT to look forward to in 2020?
I would guess OHMSS and YOLT will be next, maybe they throw in FYEO first. My guess is they simply need more time for FYEO, due to it's many short stories requiring more illustrations.
Yes - I was figuring they'd leave the 'oddities' (FYEO, OP and TSWLM) for last. So maybe the order will be:
2020 - OHMSS, YOLT
2021 - TMWTGG, TSWLM
2022 - OP, FYEO
Until he is convinced that they will publish the full catalogue he will not be parting with any more of his hard earned wonga !
On a point of detail, The Pussy finds the good Major's description of FYEO as an oddity a bit bizarre.

What exactly do you find so disfunctional about the release schedule? We had two books since 2017 every year like clockwork, always released at the same time, except for one time in May. My guess is, it will be 2 books a year for the rest of the catalogue.
As for Folio releasing the whole catalogue, well, what else do you need than Folio telling us over and over again that they're gonna do the whole catalogue?

FYEO in particular is excellent - QOS especially is a deep cut favourite of mine.
I just meant those three are 'oddities' because they stand out from the pack. Two short story collections and an experiment novel.
I will be furious if they don't do the complete Fleming collection!

Could be the 4th or 6th from the bottom, i wouldn't get my hopes up yet though.
Folio releases their Autmn Collection on the start of September, but their Christmas Collection in the middle of October, so barely a month apart, which i find a bit odd tbh.
The Autumn collections never featured a Bond book, but the Christmas collections always had a Fleming release since 2015. Of course i hope i can get it a month earlier, but i don't think they'll change their release strategy, so i think we'll have to wait another month. We'll see next week.
If the good Doctor is correct, PussyNoMore hopes that we get the full unexpurgated version and not the cleaned up ‘woke’ edition that has been doing the rounds !
Diamonds are Forever was not censored. No Reason why LALD should be.
But no need to despair, it will only take one month longer.

At this rate it’s going to take them another 4 years to complete things and PussyNoMore’s experience of working with artists tells him that’s a long time.
Of course if she has visualised the whole series upfront that’s a different story.
6. Does Fay Dalton deliver more paintings then ends up in the book?
Fay basically submits what we commission, in terms of final artwork. Getting to that stage however, is a very long process and for every final image there will be anything up to ten rough stages, with details tweaked and suggestions both from Folio and from the Fleming estate all integrated. Fay has been unbelievably patient during this process, and it has been a joy to see final illustrations which match the original text to such a find level of detail.
8. At what pace will the forthcoming books be released.
We really follow Fay’s schedule – at the moment she is able to produce work for around two a year, although I realise many readers would rather she could do a few more!
How I would love to own one of those roughs.
Dalton’s work is brilliant. She has a highly distinctive style and if, for any reason, they were obliged to change artists it would render the whole thing redundant.
Perhaps the good 00Agent is correct to be relaxed. We will see but in the interim, The Pussy thinks he’ll keep his powder dry.
This might be the very last time ever that we see Fleming’s novels individually published in hardback, given that society is getting more digital.
Am relieved to hear that they’re doing LALD. I was a bit concerned that they might skip it, not because of any perceived 1950s attitudes towards race, but more because Folio have actually already published, it as a one-off a few years ago, before the Fay Dalton series got going.
IGotABrudder, Yes,this may be the last time particularly given IFP’s bizarre move in appointing Amazon as their US publisher. The Pussy has a couple of good collections of Fleming’s works (JC hardbacks, Easton Press leather bound) and one oddity (CR Bentley Edition) but is keen to complete this one purely because of the Dalton visuals.

I agree. I got my first Folio Fleming delivered today, Casino Royale, and I have to say that after reading all the glowing reports on these books, I was expecting something heavier and more substantial. It weighs the same as my Waterstones signed hardback of Forever And A Day, yet cost over twice as much. I know I'll get some responses saying I 'don't appreciate quality', and it's not about weight, (and I agree it isn't), but I've bought a lot of books over the years, and for £36.00 plus a fiver postage, I'd advise people to try and see one first hand before they shell out. They're lovely things, but in comparison to other books I've bought, there's a good argument that they're priced quite high for what they are.
If it were heavier does that mean better quality paper or something? I guess some of the cost is for the new artwork.
