Really? I was more hoping for the hotel rat from spectre to make a reappearance. He’s so helpful. I’m thinking double o status
Let's also see Dan get his underwater scuba action scene!
Wint and Kidd could be "rebooted" with a faithful adaptation of DAF.
Now that you mention sharks, I was rewatching Thunderball yesterday and noticed the scene where Largo feds Quist to the Golden Grotto sharks. I keep thinking we need that kind of stuff again: a leading villain cruelly killing a henchman who fails or betrays him - last time it was properly done was in LTK. We could consider Le Chiffre and Greene as getting killed for failing Quantum by Mr. White, but we barely saw that. A send-off like Largo to Quist would be a great way to give the villain an aura of menace (something all the Craig villains needed, desperately).
[*] Say "Shaken...not stirred"
[*] A skie chase
[*] Wear his Commander's uniform
1. A fleming title Preferably The Hildebrand Rarity, The Garden of Death or Risico
2. a rock and roll title song , Preferably by Geddy Lee or U2
3. a more serious tone ala From Russia with love or Casino Royale
4. Ski Chase
5. Hot girls
6. ending where Bond is 007 again (similar to how Skyfall ended)
I get those 6 things I am happy
Cool
I predict you could get only N. 3... and/or maybe N. 2 (just for the rock part) and N. 5 (since Bond girls always seemed hot to me). XD
Sorry but we must agree to disagree the only themes I really love are the rock ones specifically
On Her majesties Secret Service
Live and Let Die
A view to a Kill
The Living Daylights
Goldeneye
The World Is not enough
You Know My name
and
Another Way to Die
OHMSS is Jazz themed. AVTAK, TLD, GE and TWINE are Pop music.
The only decent in the rock genre that comes close to what it's defined by is YKMN, and even that was toned down to sound more like a Pop music song for the theatrical cut, which I prefer over the other versions released on albums.
LALD and Another Way To Die, I can live without.
Bond songs should always be modeled after GF and TB. Those are what define a Bond song.
CHARLOTTE KING
the monty norman's bond theme DURING the movie
more moneypenny on action field
the jet pack
madeleine swann is a traitor
gary oldman as blofeld
Here's Daniel wearing a double breasted suit during a SPECTRE photocall in Rome:
Agreed.
John barry agrees with me for crying out loud...
Each bond has his own sound
Connery was Brass
Lazenby was Synthesizer
Moore was Strings
Dalton was Bass
Brosnan I would argue Electronic Keyboard
Craig Electric guitar
when you put one Bond's sound on another it just sounds wrong to my ears which is why Skyfall and Writing on the Wall didn't work for me it goes against Craig's sound and why though I hate Die another day it works for Brosnan's Bond.
and Rock can be classy it's not like I want AC DC or Kiss to do the theme but Classy prog rock musicans like
Geddy Lee
Yes
Muse
Neal Morse
Jon Anderson
David Gilmour
or maybe the Who
or an instrumental with Brian May as the composer.
The Bonds under Barry aren’t really different. Updated with little bit of variety perhaps, but they first and foremost had the unique sound of jazz as the foundation of their musical roots. Only YKMN in the modern era had some rock leanings, but there’s a reason the theatrical version is better than the album version. More classic orchestral philharmonia, less unwanted electric guitar bass noise. One of the reasons I’m not fond of LALD is because it does exactly what I described a couple of posts ago. Monkey business and a lot of noise.
OK I SAID NOT LIKE ACDC
jeez do you read my posts at all
again here are some examples
take a listen to this and then tell me if its sophisticated enough for you
I don't remember any rock and roll in Barry's scores.
Again, while some of those are good on their own, they're not Bond material. Some of them would work greatly for eighties films, especially Cage of Freedom (and with Giorgio Moroder, no less! I'm a fan of his). But, that one isn't exactly rock. I'd say that's Pop. Muse's rendition of "Feeling Good", however, is my least favourite cover of the song. It suits for a post-apocalyptic thriller, etc. But, that's not the way to go for Bond. It's got a hellish tone that's as far you can get from Bond.
This is how a Bond tune should sound:
Hour
Runtime
Agreed. I love that CR and SF are longer films but I want a tighter runtime (110-130 mins) for B25. Especially after SP.
