This would be a thrashing just with Connery or Moore on their own imho.
PS: @barryt007, I think you mean 'Hunt' rather than 'Hawke'.
Think you mean Ethan Hunt Bazza
hahaha I know Benster......all changed.
Bond would win because he's got pretty much all their skillsets combined: Ethan's daredevil nature? Cribbed from Bond and so are most of his stunts. Bourne's hand to hand combat? This is the guy who took out Red Grant. John Wick's marksmanship? He shot down a helicopter from a speeding boat at night with a few potshots from his pistol in the last movie. All that plus his intelligence, charm and luck means Bond would take it easily imo.
The real fight would come down to Wick and Bourne. Bourne has had extreme training. He was literally tortured into becoming the badass he is. We know very little about Wick's past and how he became the Baba Yaga. What we do know is that he's feared by most, that he's a badass... and that he's killed men with a pencil.
Honestly I'd give this one to...
When you absolutely have to get the job done, there's only one Scooby that will do.
Chloe and.........Jack.
Me neither..and I think we have another dead dog on our hands sooner rather than later.
Damn right.....we could use him to take out ISIS...
Never understood this fascination with brutish action heroes who are lacking in style and sophistication.
(If you add Ethan Hawke to the list, my answer might be different.)
Bourne has gone up against people with guns frequently though. John Wick is very good at shooting people but he tends to just walk around shooting people. Bourne can disappear. Use the environment to his advantage. He wouldn't let John Wick get a clean shot. And he's no slouch with a gun either (remember the first one where he shot that guy in the head while falling several stories?).
I don't see anything these guys have that Bond doesn't to be honest. Red Grant is probably just as well trained as any of Treadstone's guys and Bond took him out, so I think he could do the same to Bourne. Hunt's daredevil physicality? The most impressive thing he's done is probably hanging off the side of a plane and Bond did that in Octopussy. Bond once rode a motorbike off a cliff, caught up to a falling plane in mid air and flew it away. Doesn't get much more daredevil than that imo. The only thing Hunt has going for him is the gadgets but Bond has those too. John Wick is good with a gun sure but so is Bond (Bond probably killed just as many people in GE as Wick did in either of his films right?). John Wick is also a more human action hero. He gets hurt and tired much more than Bond or Bourne, and how badass he is comes from how credible it all seems. Not knocking that, it's one of the reasons those films are so great. But Bond and Bourne are basically supermen. John Wick is about as badass as a more realistic spy/assassin can be. But Bond and Bourne are not realistic.
Well it depends on context. If you just throw them all into a ring and say fight to the death? Then no, but I assumed it was level playing field. Say they're all in one city, have access to their usual resources (how would any of them even touch Bond when he could just hide out in his weaponised, bullet proof Aston Martin?), and just have to track down and kill eachother. In which case Bond's charm, sophistication and just general James Bondness would help massively. He could probably seduce a female continental assassin, get intel on the hotel Wick is staying in and kill him in his sleep then use a gadget to blow up the hotel as he casually walks off and quips. Or say Hunt is using one of those masks to disguise himself as one of the ponces in a casino Bond is chilling in, all he has to do is order the wrong drink and Bond could suss him out easily.
They don't say nobody does it better for a reason. Bond shits on these guys imo. Bourne is the only one who'd have a chance but I think the resources Bond has access to would give him the edge. I think that if he was sent to kill Bourne though, Bond would spare him in the end and let him keep running. After all he doesn't really like killing at all, especially not people who don't deserve it.
I wasn't talking about TLD, I was talking about OP, it's literally the same as the Mission Impossible stunt (but done 20 years earlier). And again I don't think Hunt has ever done anything as impressive as catching a plane in mid air. So the best stunts from Mission Impossible have usually been done by Bond anyway, and Hunt's never done anything as impressive as the physically impossible/CGI stunts from the Brosnan films (surfing a tsunami). I can accept people thinking Bourne and Wick have a chance but saying Hunt is better than Bond? Nah. He's basically just a Bond rip off.
Grant was Spectre's best assassin. Klebb hit him and he didn't even flinch. He spent all his time training on that island. So he's probably just as dangerous as any of the Treadstone guys. And haven't all these been captured/incapacitated at one point? John Wick would have died in the first one if it weren't for Willem Dafoe, Ethan has been captured multiple times. Bourne has been knocked out on a couple of occasions. The only reason it seems more common in Bond is because he's had more movies.
I think the mistake people are making here is basing this off stuff like fight coreography rather than in the context of the actual film. Sure John Wick seems more badass because he's got the stunt coordinators from the Matrix directing his fight scenes but at the end of the day he's a gun for hire who spends most of the first film battling low level mafia guys and who scraped by the skin of his teeth when he's put up against fellow assassins in the second one. He's very good and probably is the most dangerous man in the criminal underworld but Bond is a 00. He works at a different level. We've literally seen him take out armies as well as men with training on par with him and even immortal/invulnerable opponents on a few different occasions. On paper he's the best by far even if the films don't always do that justice.
And if we're going to criticise most of Bond's kills for being canon fodder surely we can do the same for Hunt (I can't remember a single henchman from the MI films) and even Wick, no? Bourne is the only one that doesn't apply to because he pretty much exclusively fights assassins like him.
Really this would be a mess of a fight. I think it would be best to divide them, one against one. Pit one against an equal counterpart. Then I guess have the three winners fight it out in a free-for-all.
Bourne vs Bond
Wick vs Punisher
Hunt vs... Arthur Bishop (The Mechanic) or Frank Martian (The Transporter)?
Creasy beats everyone!
That would be too easy, we already know the winner. ;)
