1. Actor – 8 A good actor for sure, just missing a little bit of arrogance Blofeld should have.
2. Sadism – 6 trying to think of something. Well he does let his guards kill the other MI6 agent, and he's happy killing Bond in an avelange, but that's it I think. Not that sadistic.
3. Villain’s Scheme – 9 very lovely Fleming-plot with a proper dose of benign bizarre.
4. Physically Menacing – 8 Telly does seem very fit and strong.
5. Dialogue – 9 Very intelligent and interesting. Especially between him and the countess.

This showing doesn't reflect the sheer joy I get of out of watching Gray's Blowers. He may not be Fleming's Blofeld, but he sure is entertaining, and dare I say it the best of the on screen Blofelds.

And don't get me started about the plausibility of one human body disturbing an ocean of super-cooled stuff to the point where the whole place explodes and takes forever to do it. It's headache inducing.
But you're quite right; it shouldn't even be about that. The best part of the book is Bond vs Scaramanga. It should have been that and nothing but that. The film could have been brilliant in its simplicity. Moore and Lee could have given it their all. But someone decided the time was right for some fictitious tech as a MacGuffin and the silliest of Bond girls ever conceived.
I don't know who was smoking what, but TMWTGG is one big pile of mistakes. Even Barry, just this once, lets me down. I love his overall score; I even think the Theme Song is underrated. But the whistle is inexcusable.
