    Wasn't Herzog in Jack Reacher?
Yes, that's where I first saw him and thought he'd be a good fit for Bond.

Agreed. I definitely see him being a formidable villain.

But, then again, he's already 75. By the time B25 comes out, he'd be 77 or 78.

True. The opportunity has probably passed. He reminded me of Stromberg and some of the other classic villains.

Indeed! He'd have made a great Stromberg equivalent in the Craig era.

Over the years i think about those:

    41Qb1RF1kKL._SL500_AC_SS350_.jpg
Laurent Capelluto and Susan Egan (Partly inspyred by Fleming). Sleapwell Mr... (Bond.. James Bond)

    Sean Patrick Reilly
    Matthew Goode
    David Dawson
    Rachel Skarsten
    Natalia Verbeke
    Mia Jexen
    Eloise Mumford
    Samantha Lockwood
    Audrey Marnay
    Tiffany Lonsdale
    Bella Dayne
    Emma Louise Saunders
    Tamsin Egerton
    Alexandra Maria Lara
    Silvia Busuioc
    Gabriela Marcinková
    Justine Cotsonas
    Nicola Devico Mamone
    Marcelo Tubert
    Thomas Darchinger
    Dietrich Siegl
    Christopher Plummer
    Richard Armitage
    Kevin Mains
    Ada Condeescu

14 i consider as Quantum leader:
    Eliana Alexander
Mathieu Amalric as Dominic Greene (Faked his death / Death is rising / partly based on real events / He lost a stone isn't it Malory! / There will be a moment he said: Goodbye Mr Bond.... based on Bond comment in QOS: Goodbye Mr Greene)
    Olga Kurylenko (Original Camile)
    Catherine Zeta-Jones (older Camile)
    Isabelle Huppert
    Catherine McCormack
    Thi Hai Yen Do
    Connie Nielsen
    Kristin Scott Thomas
    Agata Gotova
    Claire Cooper
    Andie MacDowell
    Vanessa Redgrave
    Jane Fonda

Antonia Campbell-Hughes. First think about her as litle sister of Elektra in Twine prequel who told keednep story.
Zoë Tapper. First think about her as Masters (Dench M) Daughter.
Jared Harris as Rodney / Masters Husband /Q. My Bond 25 starts off with the wedding between them. Working for Mi6 be only option to keep him a life. Masters died by suciside by gun and brought back Charles Robinson. Partly inspyred by Fleming.

Mikael Persbrandt (and Erwin Olaf). Think mr wint and mr kidd / Mischka and Grischska
Two designers who work for the never seen villian. Later it wil turn there ever be with three.

    Nicola Walker as Dominic Green
    Sarah Gadon
Matthias Schoenaerts as Hildebrandt (Vesper Boyfriend)

I'd be open to Said Taghmaoui in a villain capacity, but not as the main villain though. He's impressed me in everything I've seen him and has a certain screen charisma.

Having said that, I can't see how he will be chosen now that he has mentioned it so openly. Perhaps they are changing the casting choices on account of Boyle's departure, and so his participation is up in the air (or even cancelled), leading to him commenting?

Anyway, he's a good choice as a secondary villain imho.

Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan) can play a mean (ha) villain, nominating him for main henchman. He gives me Necros vibes and I feel the time is right for another 'Necros'.

He may be a little old now, but Sir Patrick Stewart would have been an excellent Bond villain for Dalton or Brosnan. In fact I would go so far as to say he would have been the perfect Blofeld, had they had the rights to the character in that era.

Two out of the box casting choices for a female villain for me would be:

    Diane Lane
    Winona Ryder

I have seen him in quite a few of his minor roles. You are right to say he has a certain charisma and on screen presence. Where I disagree is that I think he would make an excellent lead villain. He has impressed me with the menace he can portray in roles. I think that Bond has been in the past where you make a name for yourself rather than being a name when you come in. I think this leads to a greater investment by the actors and crew as they know this could change their career entirely.

Also I know in the past it has been the kiss of death to talk about a Bond role before the official release but I hope this proves to be the exception.

I like to see Bond returns to Marocco for Vesper Video and meets famale agent there. But nothing against another one or corupt one from the start. He has looks of younger Kamal Khan. He playing in Marc Forster Kite Runner, is seen In Vantage Point and Traitor. Conan the Barbarian
(2011) 4th movie i have with him. If iam correct David O. Russell whas on eon list as directer a whyle a go cast and him in Three Kings from 1999. Big quistion is, are there not to late because Wonder Woman ask him first.

Like it it a lot to see Stephanie Sigman in Swatt and John Rhys Davies whyle it take some time get his fame too after TLD and Sliders.

According to screenrant he may still have the part
  • Stephen Dillane
  • Dave Bautista - back as the new leader of SPECTRE, and SPECTRE back to more traditional revenge, terror and extortion plans.

Biggest missed opportunity of Spectre the movie was that he should have been the one revealed as Blofeld at the end, taking over from Franz Oberhauser after his capture. (And he more accurately fits Fleming’s description of Blofeld in the books than any of his predecessors).

It’s still an exciting new dynamic, to have the main villain be someone who we have already seen beat Bond in a fight without a private army to protect him. And it’s logical. After his performance at the last board meeting, no-one in SPECTRE would dare challenge his appointment.

    I want Hinx back.
  • edited September 2018 Posts: 4,408
I'd be all for Hinx's return. I think it be kinda cool if they bought him back with a ton of scars and a metal jaw.....wink wink.

No one would have to call him 'Jaws' but it would be heavily implied. Audiences wouldn't even need much explanation if they can't quite recall him from Spectre. He's just someone that Bond has a bit of history with, who now wants to get some revenge. Plus, Hinx looked great in a suit.

    Hinx-Beige-Suit-Waistcoat-Spectre.jpg

Bautista has been killing it recently. He was great in his small role in Blade Runner (conveying melancholy and menace in his brief screentime). He's hilarious and scene-stealing in all his Marvel films. It's definitely in Eon's advantage to bring him back.

I never understood the whole 'thumb nail' thing - it never felt exciting or weird enough to be a 'henchmen' trait.

Meanwhile, it's slightly hard for me to imagine Saïd Taghmaoui as a villain, as I only see his character in La Haine (which is a fantastic film). But he's this overzealous, wannabe gangster who is more of a source of embarrassment for his friends. Though in recent photos, he does look evil. However, I think we know that Boyle wanted a Russian villain over a Middle Eastern baddie. So wasn't Taghmaoui always out of contention, unless he had a smaller role as another character (I can't imagine him as the lead villain).

I endorse this recommendation. I've only seen him in Red Sparrow, where he was excellent.

He can be good, but he's played buffoons too many times as well, which has impacted my opinion of him. I think the next villain has to be a serious type who can do menacing.

I've always been partial to Jeremy Irons. He might be a bit old now, but a few years back he would have been great, even as Blofeld.

I recommend The Departed. He played a evil no nonsense henchmen to Jack Nicholson's bad guy. He held his own against Jack.

Great film. I've been meaning to watch it again actually. Yes, I agree that Winstone can be very good, but I've also seen him be substandard, as in (imho), the last Indy film. I'm not entirely against him, but I think there could be better, less well known choices.
