YOLT vs OP - OP is a film I have grown to like more over time, but YOLT sits a little higher in my ranking.

GF vs NSNA - GF doesn't do it for me, but NSNA was made from the worst of ingredients, greed and spite. Everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

    Round 97:

    OP vs TND

    and

    GF vs SF

Yes, I mean that last one. I keep meaning to give SF another chance but I really felt peeved at the end like we had been provided a long advert for the NEXT Bond movie. It was really spoonfed.

But I will give it a go soon... Until then, GF is my choice.

With respect to OP... well, Louis Jourdan gets me every time.

OP just barely over TND. One of the toughest picks for me yet. I like them about evenly.

GF over SF. Another pretty tough one, but I've got to give Connery's classic the edge here. Both two of my all-time favorites though.

A non contest for me this round.
OP beats TND - "Thank you I'd be delighted."
GF beats SF - "I don't suppose it'll be all fun and games."

OP over TND, but it is very close.

SF over GF. I find GF to be one of Connery's worst in fact.

Nice to see it was a close one since I rank both OP and YOLT about equally.

  • OP (today anyway ;) ).

GF (this one has slipped lately, but still above SF for Connery alone).

OP. While OP is somewhat of a Moore era “greatest hits” package, it does have its’ charms. Although I enjoyed Michelle Yeoh - with the exception of GE - I always sense that there is less than meets the eye to the Brosnan era (i.e., enjoyable but somewhat forgettable). That’s not Pierce’s fault, BTW, but I always find the scripts somewhat generic (…don’t flame me for that guys!).

GF. A tough choice. They are both are classics (IMO)., even though their tones are different.

Damn, I was writing this entire essay why I was going to choose TND by a hair over OP, but--

I thought of that shitty, slo-mo, double-gun-shooting rampage that Bond went on in the TND climax and, pressing delete, will go with:

OP for the win (but TND is PB's best in the role of 007, as far as I'm concerned (unlike GE he leads, instead of shrinks, confident, fun, funny, believable))...

Ugh GF vs SF... just a few weeks ago I was ready to place SF atop of GF... In the end, couldn't do it--

Classic Sean and GF for the win.

    OP
    GF

Both very tough (the first two as enjoyable mid-packs; the latter two as passionate top five)

Give me the two Bond films where Bond catches the Main Villain cheating at a game, beats him anyways and the Henchman crushes something in his hand afterwards. They both also feature circuses with a female who ends up turning against the Main Villain and Bond is in a race to stop a bomb from going off and succeeds in the final seconds.
