Double dose of MR. FYEO falls apart in the third act, Casino is a drag.

I always thought of the third act of FYEO to be one of the better ones; no explosions, cool rock climbing scene.

The tension building with the climbing completely stands the test of time. Perfect storm-the-lair finale a la OHMSS (though not quite at that level).

The second half of FYEO is good stuff. Too bad the first half is such a slog that the whole film is the most forgettable Bond film in the series for me.

    FYEO beats MR 25-9

    CR beats MR 30-4

    Round 137:

    GF vs GE

    and

    TND vs SP

This is the last round for TND until it faces NTTD, whenever that is.

GE is not bad, but GF is the real thing.
TND is more fun than SP, among other things for its laudable absence of foster brother nonsense and excessive colour grading.

TND has better everything: action, dialogue, colour etc.

    GF

I'm far from its biggest fan but the factors of this film. Barry's score, the PTS and Connery still smashing it out the park outweigh the one film in the PB era that I actually quite like but is far from a favourite and his era as a whole is something I can quite easily forget exists. I quite happily stop at LTK and go straight to CR.

    TND

I have SP at 24 so it has to be, I don't really care about the PB era, I do about the DC, its placing at 24 is more to do with what I see as the squandering of the best run of films since the 60's, I think this era will make up for it with NTTD with aplomb, though on my recent watch SP was still excruciating to watch. TND I don't really care about so its effect on me is less because of it.

GF stomps all over GE. Crushes it as badly as Oddjob crushes the golf ball.

TND... I truly despise the second half of this film, and I’d much rather watch Daniel Craig sitting in the back of a classic car being driven in a desert, than anything Brosnan has done, BUT, it’s TND for the WIN: admittedly everything in its first hour is far more entertaining than in all of Spectre.

The second battle is difficult to decide...TND because the last watch was more entertaining

Easy choices for me, even though I love GF and TND as well... Perils of being a Bond fan.

    GF and SP

Not that SP is one of my favorites (bottom 3rd for sure), but I will take the mythos destroying of Brothergate wrapped in a pretty package than two hours of Brosnan doing nothing but randomly spraying machine guns, Jonathan Pryce's endless blabbering, and THE most boring and least attractive Bond girls of the series.

The first half TND saves it from being dead last in my rankings (DAD), but the second half might be my least favorite second-half of the series.
