    OHMSS (not difficult, but I still really like TLD)

    LTK (Connery's performance brings down YOLT, even if it's a decent film divorced from the far superior source material. LTK is a great adaption of the unused elements of Fleming's LALD and TMWTGG).

    This is a strong case of which ones would I take on a desert island.

    TLD over OHMSS barely
    YOLT over LTK easily but LTK is starting to grow on me.

    Dalton and Davi are great but John Barry, the most exotic locations in the series and the fantastic ninja final battle seal the deal for me.

    TLD over Maj' by a cello string width, for the cold war setting and most excellent sniper scene. Prefer the PTS too.

    LTK over YOLT by a Dracula hair, purely for better pacing.

    Damn you @Thunderfinger Majesty's and Daylights on any given day they could swap places. In fact, they're 4th and 5th in my ranking. Which is why I had to go and check out, which way round they are.

    OHMSS over TLD

    The other pairing was much easier.

    YOLT over LTK

    Even so, I still consider myself a big fan of the Dalton duo. Fantastic Bond.

    Two surprisingly difficult and close decisions. In my list of rankings, both of the first pair are rated 8/10, the other two 7/10.

    Still, I'll vote for the two from the Sixties.

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service over The Living Daylights. However, I will say that TLD is the best Bond film since OHMSS, IMO. Dalton's performace, a Fleming-inspired narrative, Bond and Kara's relationship is the most authentic and believable since Bond and Tracy and Barry's incredible soundtrack make it so.

    Licence To Kill over You Only Live Twice. Not even close.

    OHMSS. I love TLD (and Maryam d'Abo 😊), but OHMSS is in the rarefied air of top-tier of Bond films. Plus, the Diana Rigg thingy……..
    YOLT. LTK has grown on me over the years, but for pure spectacle that doesn’t slip into becoming silly (I’m looking at you MR!) I find it impossible to top YOLT.

    With 25 films, the number of matches should be 300, 150 rounds with two matches each. I figured the reason we have an odd number left was because I messed up earlier, and posted the same matches twice. But then it dawned on me that it was only two matches, exactly one round s worth.

    As we are approaching the end, I had already decided to go over the entire thread once more and doublecheck that all scores are correct (after all this time it would be a shame if something is askew), and so I found the problem. Yet another match had been posted twice, namely DAF vs CR. (Same result second time around, not surprisingly) Scores are amended and I can guarantee that all is well.
