Is Paddington 2 a homage to Octopussy?

Those who’ve seen it will know what I mean.

Damn, I'm going to have to see it now. Maybe I'll take my mum over Christmas.

Does it have anything to do with trains?

A lot to do with trains. And circuses. Circuses and trains probably sums it up. I was quite taken aback - the homage seemed to be very on the table and not pretending to be anything other than pure fan adoration for the classic Bond movie that is OP.

I enjoyed it a lot. There was perhaps a little nod to CR in there as well. I’m not sure my daughter got the references.

Infact I'd say the the all round most Bondian Paddington movie so far!

Wasn’t Hugh Grant touted as a Bond at one point as well? Future villain...?

You're missing out. A cast any Bond film would be proud of as well.

The prison scenes are particularly enjoyable.

Top tip - don’t walk out as the credits roll. There’s plenty more.
