    There was a point where it looked like Sony wasn’t doing too well. I would have said they missed out on losing the bidding war to Universal two years ago, but 2021 has been a very good year for them even before Spidey came along at the tail end.

    Wow looking back at this topic the predictions were quite wrong.
    Back in August the sensation was that the best case scenario would’ve been $600M, given the Delta spread as well. @Pierce2Daniel stated that a $400M gross would’ve made NTTD a “hit” and I was quite wrong as well. I never saw $775M coming, especially because my parameter was F9 that is far stronger than Bond in China (and US as well), it didn’t came out with Delta spreading and all its latest installment grossed more than SP… so if you take off $200M from F9 that it grossed in China Toretto’s cume stands at $520M.
    Back in the summer I thought Bond would’ve made something in that $500M+ range… and now here we are. Never been so happy being wrong.

    I suppose it s a bit like football, and the fans are considered a part of the team (by themselves).

    I saw it four times in theatres, rented it once, and bought the 4K/Bluray combo. None of these activities made me feel pride, but to each his own.

    I went for the metal bracelet and sometimes I forget I’m wearing it. I find it extremely comfortable and gives the watch a more stealthy look.

    Was in mappin and Webb following up on a submariner today and had a look at the omega. Congrats it’s beautiful.

    Checked my local cinema listing's. Appears that NTTD still has another week left in cinema's here. Could get a final rush of box office, as people venture to the movies on Boxing day, and the Christmas period.
    I'm planning on getting one last cinema visit in, before it goes. Nothing like seeing a film on the big screen.

    Same here, one more viewing for me after Boxing Day! The final showing here will be the outdoor Moonlight Cinema event on Jan 1st to wrap it all up.

    I'm sure Spiderman is a decent film but I'd be gobsmacked if it comes close to be being an good as NTTD.

    I haven’t watched NWH but it sounds like a strong entry if you like Marvel stuff.

    They’re entirely different beasts, but both films gloriously succeed at what they aim.

    Got the DVD right here for under the tree, will watch Saturday night. But I'll never -ever- again watch the last sequence in the garden. Ever. Onward to Bond 26! And let's not have a six year wait, right? I'm not getting any younger.

    I've got to say this... But this whole NWH.. NTTD reaching this, that and the other...

    And it matters because?

    Honestly, both are good for cinema and for those that rely on people attending for making money. Let's not compare them, most likely they have both made money and that's good for everyone in the long term, Bond included.

    Doesn’t chance the fact it’s gonna be a massive flop. Godzilla vs Kong and Dune were on Max as well but they both ended up being in the $400M range.

    I thought I'd hate this new Matrix film but I didn't. It was interesting but definitely not the direction I would have opted for. There's no way even if it was a cinema exclusive that it would reach even $500M.

    Don't fancy going to the cinema at the minute . NTTD will do for me until The Batman comes out. NTTD is best film I'm likely to see for some time in any genre .

    I turned it off after 1/2 hour, it was that bad. And it's tanking terribly at the box office. An embarrassment to the 1st film.

    In France, NTTD is still number one, with 3 978 757 seats sold. But, given that Spider-Man : No Way Home got a great first week with 2 867 515 viewers, and is currently at third place, I wouldn't be surprised to see it overtaking Bond in the next few weeks. But, what the heck, managing those more thyan three millions viewers during the days we are living is still quite impressive.
