Man United 4 - 0 Everton.Skty Sports pundits response 'I did not think United were any good though I was impressed by Everton'.

It is tiresome at this point the negativity toward my club.

    ---

City not looking great though when only trailing by one goal you can't count them out... City do have issues though, I think Alverez is a huge miss for them.

All great teams have a season where everything catches up to them from previous seasons excretions, it happened to United a few times under Fergie.

    ---

FPL wise another stinker for me, I have not been able to watch much games and follow the players and missing deadline cost me as I have 15 points on the bench from players i would have subbed in. I have thought about writing this season off though I have some leave next week so will put some time in plus I have all the midweek games to watch on Amazon Prime... so its get beers in and watch loads of footy.

I've seen some managers have amazing turns of fortune in FPL, from a horrible start to top 100k finishes. I think the Christmas period is very important in FPL; a bit of luck and a few surprise benchings is all it takes really.
Salah goal and assist so far so at least me swapping Haaland for Salah paid off.

Football is a funny ole game, despite our poor season Man United are only 4 points off 4th place, it illustrates how any team in this league can beat another.

I planned to transfer out Haaland too, but missing the deadline and not bringing in Cunha didn't make any difference in the end.

Having someone new come in with new ideas can have a massive impact. The schedule through Christmas into the new year isn't that bad for United either; they have a great opportunity in the upcoming game against a City coming up 15 December too. You couldn't face City at a better point really.

I did ok in the end, think i will bank a transfer tonight as want to get Saka in at the weekend if i can.

Red arrow for me, but that was to be expected given how the games went yesterday.

Made two early free transfers just now. I don't like making them and it doesn't seem like I would miss out on price rises anyway, but I just can't afford to miss another deadline without making changes – so I went early in case something comes up that keeps me from being free to focus on FPL before the deadline.

My worry of making a move is rotation with so many games in a short space of time, thankfully my bench is decent currently. I am tempted to make one transfer which i thought of making a few ago and I really should have.

Edited: Made a completely different transfer, the other player I wanted I could not do.

Injuries are a concern too with so many games this time of the year it's good to have more than 1 free transfer sometimes... but it's always a guessing game.

True, hopefully my bench will start to pay off as I keep having good points on my bench, 18 from two player last GW which is a pain.

It has only been a week though I am impressed by Amorim, top of the list is his positive attitude he is measured in his thinking.

I have noticed other character traits though it is way too early.

My bench is weak, though Greaves started tonight, so that means one less transfer to make. I missed the deadline again (!) but had made my transfers, fortunately.

It will be interesting to see how he manages the squad compared to ten Hag. The Christmas period will give us an indication on his impact, no doubt.

    Unlucky there.
My theory is: when in doubt don't use a transfer for a defender when a Mid/For is needed.

I brought in Konate a couple of weeks back and then he got injured/Aït-Nouri last week= -4 (2 transfers)

Manu v Arsenal could be a goalfest ?

I wanted to bring in Kelleher though already have 3 Liverpool players including the injured soon to return Becker.

Not sure what to expect from the Arsenal game, I have a gut feeling Amorim will return us or get us close to where we want to be though it is very early days.

Arsenal could easily batter us tonight.

I brought in Kelleher for Areola this gw (who for some reason isn't starting?) Lopetegui could be the next sacked ?

It's not like Manu had a terrible last season , after all they did beat City in the cup final, more than Liverpool did.

All they need is a star forward or 2 like Saka, Salah, Erling etc and they'll do better in the league ?

Maybe Klopp doesn't know how to defend as i've/a lot of people have been saying for 3-4 years ?

At Arsenal they should win/score a few more than Manu but you never know...

Defender transfers (and definitely goalkeepers) can be "luxury transfers" which should often only be addressed when you have transfers to spend or have no other choice (injuries, blanks or as a way to raise funds for other transfers). The upside using the transfers in midfield and attack is usually much bigger.

I wish I followed that thinking more often! :))

Arsenal probably have the best tactics when it comes to scoring from corners......

Kelleher made a few errors which probably cost us the win ?

Yeah Sanchez and Jackson out, probably rested/rotated ?

João Pedro ,Smith Rowe still to play this gw for me.

Amorim has tried several combinations in his first set of games, he will have an idea of his first 11 because I certainly have. Zirkzee and Rashford playing behind Rasmus in the second half did not work so that needs to never happen again, playing them both at number 10 is futile.

Mount could be a key player for United and I would start him as one of the number 10's again in the next game.

It's been a busy week, so I didn't have time to look at the ganeweek 13 and 14 rounds of games until now, so let's have a quick look before the next deadline tomorrow! With an average gameweek score of 60 points in gameweek 13, and 58 points in gameweek 14, it's been quite the change from the gameweeks before, where the average was considerably lower. The managers in our league have picked up good gameweek scores too, but none better than our gameweek 13 and 14 winners, Liverpool Richmond and Anfield FC, scoring 92 points and 79 points respectively. Congratulations! =D>

I was a bit surprised to see him make changes before the Arsenal game, which certainly played to Arsenal's advantage. I think once Amorim finds his preferred starting eleven, we'll see results.

Indeed it was! I'm really not sure what to do with my team now. Aït-Nouri isn't picking up points so I might look elsewhere to strengthen my defence. With Lewis unlikely to start every game, there's two of my key defenders now an issue.

@Torgeirtrap benching Amad could be seen as a mistake though i think Amorim wanted more defensive cover vs Saka which worked in the first half. Changing both our number 10's in the second half killed out midfield Mount and Garnacho pressed held the ball up well, Zirkzee and Rashford were useless when they came on.

Yes, there was a considerable drop when Zirkzee and Rashford came on. I certainly don't think this was a game Rashford should have played at all.
