Reminds me of the Moyes season at United with City quite a few players past there prime. City have a lot of youth like United though those players are years away from peak. Liverpool are in a moment where the team is at peak and Arsenal are also though messed up not recruiting.
Yeah, I think Liverpool have hit the balance with experience and players at the peak of their abilities this season. The only thing Arsenal have as an advantage for the years to come is that several key players are yet to hit their "peak" years – but that's only a small comfort, because they are a long way from achieving anything at all.
Saka is a huge loss it's pretty much like Liverpool losing Salah, these players make the difference.
Yes, very much so. No team will win the PL without having their main man – or men, available throughout the whole season. Look at Leicester too in the season they won, they had Vardy, Mahrez and others all at their best, and all fit and available.
Almost forgot we have a deadline tonight! But before that, let’s take a quick look back at Gameweek 26. With fewer active chips in play, the gameweek average went down to 62 points, from 74 points in gameweek 25. That's still an above average gameweek, which was reflected in some of the scores in our league. Best in gameweek 26 was CSAC, scoring 103 points, ending the gameweek with a gameweek rank of 84 397. Congratulations!
________
Here are the gameweek 27 captaincy picks!
Salah is unsurprisingly favoured by most managers in our league this gameweek, while Palmer, with a good fixture against Southampton, is captained by three managers. No other player is captained by more than one manager. Good luck everyone!
That's just typical FPL, isn't it!
Sure is.
Did you make any changes this gw ?
João Pedro out for Cunha… X_X
Huge win given the circumstances, for sure!
I won'r be able to watch the game, but it's an interesting match, with United looking to find form in the latter half of the season, and a Fulham that has done well so far.
Garnacho and Obi need to come on.
Second half nothing happening, this is not good at all.
Getting worse this is awful.
Get Obi on, we need a spark, Rasmus doing nothing.
Ugarte was on a yellow though already missing next round if we got through, should have kept him on as surrended midfield even more.
This is the type of performance that sacks managers in other circumstances.
Extra time, United looking better.
Brunoooooo thank god. 1 - 1
De Ligt been outstanding.
I was about to say Obi not had a touch then did great work and had a good chance.
What a pass from Zirkzee, deserved a goal.
Penalties...
Out!
________
Haven't 'rage-transfered' him out yet, but Cunha will be my priority transfer for this gameweek!
Penalties can go either way, but it certainly helps having a goalkeeper step up!
______
Here are the gameweek 28 captaincy picks!
With a great fixture against Southampton, it's no surprise that Salah is the most captained player in our league, yet again. He's the only player backed by more than one manager. Good luck everyone!
Three points for City or Forest will be important. A draw will invite Chelsea into the top four race.
"Interesting" is not necessarily "exciting" ... lol.
Haha, no!
I suppose I better watch the Man United v Arsenal game as already paid for it. Our squad is so thin it's a joke.
Sky sports patheticaly trying to romanticise this game with a crap monologue when nothing really is at stake now.
I want Amorim to do well and clearly he has not been given to resources to do much so far. I won't lie I am not a fan of this formation and never have been, though clearly we are way off having the right type of player for it to work.
With these players we played better football under ETH. ETH recruitment was very poor, spent millions on mediocre players.
1 - 0 United.
Great freekick
No way that was a free kick, why don't VAR look at dives like that.
1 - 1 Rice, good goal.
Gary should not comentate on United games
Good second half, United played well second half.
Despite our offensive issues defensive we look good going forward. @Torgeirtrap Heaven has really impressed me.
United could easily have won this game, Raya much at fault for the first goal, then the difference when United had their chances. It's a performance that United can build on.
Arsenal should just focus on securing that top four spot now. CL is an impossible dream of course. They should just try their best in the CL to gain experience, and to see what level they need to reach for.
With their injuries and lack of depth you could argue that Arsenal have overachieved this season. It's quite possible that Forest overtake them.
About ManU, here's a new Neville interview with Jim Ratcliffe that's a bit shocking, at least for me, in terms of the numbers:
Both sides are weak in attack, Arsenal have dropped the ball this season in the position they were in a striker was vital to at least make it a competition vs Liverpool.
I watched the interview it was soft, Neville should not have been the one asking the questions. A few of the answers were nonsensical, as a United supporter it was not very encouraging.
This will cost more than 2 billion which is double the current most expensive football stadium on earth Spurs and twenty times the most of Man Cities ground.
I won't mention the American Football/NFL stadiums as they are ridiculously expensive.
Manchester United's new stadium looks more suited to Saudi or Brazil, Manchester is pretty gloomy.
Indeed. If it wasn't for financial reasons, I can't really understand that they didn't go all in for a striker in the summer. Yes, you had both Gabriel Jesus and Havertz available, but neither is going to give you 20+ goals a season. They also knew that Jesus was an injury risk…
You don't get this kind of a run in every season, that's for sure. I'm really impressed by Forest, and they certainly deserve a top four finish. Like you mention, it wouldn't be surprising if they finish second; they have a fixture list that suggests they can win all their remaining games.
Strange to announce this given all the talks about budget that have led up to this. It's no surprise that Old Trafford might be in need of some improvements, but this design looks pretty soulless, doesn't it?
Two free transfers here as well, but I definitely need to use both mine. Looking at -4 or a -8 before the deadline. My rank isn't great, so I need to take a few chances now.
_________
A bit late, but let's have a quick look at gameweek 28 before the deadline! With an average score of 52 points, this was a rather low scoring gameweek. It's fun to see that many managers in our league comfortably beat the overall average – best of which was our gameweek 28 winner, Liverpool Richmond – scoring 80 points. Congratulations! =D>
