Do you ever find references to 007 in your daily life? These can be far more than simple movie quotes; anything from a subtle nod, to direct, obvious mentions of Bond. Share them here!

My story comes second hand from a friend. He was recently relaxing at a lake up in Mammoth Mountain, California. There was another group there as well, enjoying the water. One fellow, an Australian man, exited the water while shouting to his friends, “I’m coming out like Daniel Craig!” I wish I could have seen that first hand. =))

  • I have a similar story. Back when Casino Royale first came out I was at a pool party and there was this Ukrainian girl on the team and apparently all the other girls used to gush over her father. So during the party someone says 'her father's the new James Bond' and I didn't get it then I saw the dude getting out of the pool and he was JACKED. He did bear an uncanny resemblance to Daniel Craig.

Not sure if related, but I often introduce myself with the "Bond, James Bond" format.

Don't know how much a Bond reference it is, as it's something I only came aware of later. Anyway, back in 2011 I attended this script writing course at a comic book festival here in Norway. The course went over a couple days, and was mostly about how to write for comics, how to start off a story, the use of panels, etc. Howard Chaykin - who led the course along with Mike Perkins (who's recently illustrated some of the covers for Dynamites Felix Leiter series) - among other things told us stories about his own career, like working with Gil Kane, and stuff like that. One thing he didn't talk about though, was that he did the pencils on the comic book adaptation of For Your Eyes Only!

I would no doubt had plenty of questions to ask him about that, if I knew!

I do plan on cosplaying as 007 for New York City Comic Con next week-actually I'm between the white tux and the black tux (what do you guys think I should do?) anyways, I do plan on ordering a dry martini, shaken, not stirred in costume so I will have completed a real life Bond reference by then.

Black tux, definitely – but if you go for a white one, do like Sean and complete the outfit with the red flower!

It's more "typical Bond" to wear the black one, at least!

I heard The Living Daylights in IKEA recently and thought "wait a minute, they're Norwegian not Swedish!"
