Rating the action of the Craig era

I hope we see an improvement in action scenes for B25. I felt the last two were overly stagey to be honest. But I thought I’d have a go at quantifying that theory:

CR
PTS: 9/10
Bombmaker chase: 10/10
Miami airport: 6/10
Stairwell: 9/10
Venice shootout: 7/10
AVG: 8

QoS
PTS: 6/10
Siena chase: 10/10
Haiti fist fight: 9/10
Haiti boats: 7/10
Austrian opera: 6/10
Bolivia aeroplane: 6/10
Bolivia hotel: 8/10
AVG: 7

SF
PTS: 10/10
Shanghai skyscraper: 6/10
Macau casino: 6/10
Island lair: 6/10
London shootout: 8/10
Skyfall shootout: 8/10
AVG: 7

SP
PTS: 10/10
Rome supercars: 2/10
Austria plane chase: 3/10
Hinx train fight: 9/10
Desert lair escape: 2/10
London rescue: 2/10
AVG: 5

To be fair, SF is looking better than I thought. Doesn’t really change my impression that Mendes went balls out on both PTS but lacked the chops or flair for action in general.

Also keep in mind that some scenes may look pretty or still work, like the Austrian opera scene or Shanghai skyscraper, but the action therein is what is being marked.

I feel like the action has gotten progressively worse with each subsequent Craig entry.

    agree, @doubleego.

wonder if that's down to Mendes or Craig's injury and general wear / tear.

I think it's a mixture of both. The action in CR and QOS is astounding. The action in SF is well done but lacks the energy of the two previous films, likely because of Mendes. The vast majority of the action in SP is tired and feels too "easy" for Craig's Bond, which I'm sure is due to Craig's injury.

mendes has his strengths, @Remington , but I think it is safe to conclude that kinetic action isn't one of them.
