Because of the story arc that they’ve followed, I don’t think that’s likely; but, that is exactly what I was hoping for when Craig started his tenure.
That sounds ludicrous beyond belief. can we just deal with the idea that Craig's Bond is not related to the previous films, they'll cap this era off with NTTD and that will be it.
People can say that they don't care about continuity and the previous era didn't pay much attention to this being explicit .
Although the DC era has, this is not related to previous 20 films.
I don wonder about why some people accept this.
No one is taking the previous 20 away from you, you can still watch them, they aren't connected.
It's likely that the next era will possibly continue as the previous era so that new actors can join the timeline unlike what is going to happen with Craig.
Well it wouldn’t have been a literal link to the Connery era, snd would not imply a connection; it would be more of a nod to the legacy and an acknowledgment that this era is how Bond became Bond.
0:43. It appears Safin will be his own, independent villain. Not a SPECTRE agent!
Good!!! We do not need another DR NO!!! [-X
Considering the postponement, the film will have to find a new wrinkle in its marketing campaign to exploit. If (and it's a big 'if') he is Dr No.....the next trailer (which is probably coming in July with Tenet would be the time to reveal it.
Note the grey streaks in his hair - looks like he has aged since his appearance on the lake. Adds credence to the theory that he has found a way to cheat death and live forever.
The film ends with Craig enjoying a cricket game in Pakistan.
Full circle damn it.
Funny enough, the full BTS in Casino Royale also included action seq at a cricket game in England. But those scene got deleted. Think I have the script somewhere
Because...?
Do we know if a deadly virus being unleashed is what the plot is about? I've heard it mentioned that the film has something to do with a virus that targets particular people based on their genes. Somehow, Bond is immune....hence why he isn't impacted by the gas on the dancefloor
Also, Safin has that line 'I have made you redundant.' Does this mean that he has done something and taken Bond's DNA to clone him or something?
No.
Blofelds daughter that Safin wants to kill..for some reason
Mr White could be her step father or taking care of her at least as a child.
But that would mean Bond is having an affair with his half-niece
Haha
Kinky
Without forgetting that Safin had a past in chemical/pharmaceutical business/research. Mass killing with some kind of genetically modified biological weapon is 99.9% his evil plot at this point, as I see things.
Yes we have. It could be true, but it was not hard to come up with because of the "spoilers" and "speculations". The kid seems far fetched.
Especially in light of this tweet:
Will NTTD end up being very timely indeed?
Because, I envisioned his era being a series of missions that showed his first and a series of others that would have preceded dealing with Dr No.
Obviously yes... incredibly timely. Bill Gates in 2015 said that WW3 will be against a virus maybe Fukunaga remembered that quote too. Anyway all of Craig brand new original plots ended up being very timely just think about QoS 10 years before Greta Thumberg etc etc.
It be fun if Craig's era did end with him encountering Dr No. It would effectively see his reign come full circle. I'm in two minds about Dr No re-emerging as the series as always had 'new' characters (albeit derivative of one another), but I'm not wholly against reimagining iconic ones.
If he is indeed Dr. No - just please to God above, don't do a dumb twist in the film! Just tell people he's Dr No in the marketing. The whole 'twist' in SP was godawful and contributed to so much bad blood for that film. Mainly as it was nowhere near as smart as it thought it was.
Also, when do we think Safin gets his big introduction? I know he will appear on the lake. But it appears that we will only see him with the mask partially exploded. Do you reckon they will keep Safin in the shadows till the second or even third act!?!?
Silva wasn't revealed until mid-way through act two, which was very bold and Blofeld didn't emerge properly till the end of act two/start of act three in SP. Both were very late introductions.......I think Safin must appear late in the film.
If I recall, Malick was hardly on set as he was filming Mr Robot at the same time. He was in almost every scene of the last series and was astonishingly good! Also, new photos of him on Safin's set (without the makeup):
I said it almost from the beginning : I always thought Safin was head of a rival group to Spectre. Hence he tried to kill Mr White when she was a child.
Possibly....could the mask be the insignia of his organisation? It’s on the TV screens of his lair. It’s either that or Safin is using the mask to intimate by Bond by placing on the screen.
If it’s the latter, then I’m getting the same feeling as the moment Blofeld printed the photos of characters from past films and hung them up in MI6 from SP........not his most dastardly plan
Those most definitely look like cloning tanks in the background.
It looks like we can put to bed the 'cloning' rumours (thank god!)....However, the nugget from the Daily Mail article is intriguing. It states: The new movie involves Bond saving the world from a biological pandemic. ‘It’s not quite Covid-19, but it’s similar’, said the insider.
This is very very intriguing. This would undeniably make this a very timely film - though indadvertedly. Eon do like to think 'what is the world going to be afraid of in the future?' It's what drove Eon to put North Korea in DAD, focus on cyberhacking in SF and state surveillance in SP. The threat of biological warfare has been growing more and more recently. So this is very timely and scary.
Bond vs Pandemic.....very intriguing.
I think we could see a slew of films taking this route moving forward. In fact, Patty Jenkins has already hinted that Wonder Woman 3 will be influenced by the pandemic.
I'd hate if it was cloning. If it's biological warfare, it would be much better and far, far more topical. It could also give NTTD an almost prophetic status. On the other hand, it could paradoxically date the film: we now know how a global pandemic works and the action of the characters might appear careless or uninformed, since it was shot before COVID-19.
How reliable is this article? Given that's it's the Daily Mail I'll take what they say with a bucket of salt.
I mean, in SF, the villain's scheme is to kill a 70 year-old woman. In SP, they need to stop a data-gathering system going online. Here, we have quotes about 'millions of people dying'......I'm kinda excited to see a high-stakes Craig film. Bring it on Fukunaga!!
However, Lucifer Safin? That feels a little 'on the nose', we know he's the villain. I mean, come on....
Lucifer Safin... I guess it's safe to say there's no one in the world actually named that))
