Yeah, much as I agree about the ridiculous hostility, I don't think it's anything to get too enthusiastic about because I don't really register it as anything important. We've had tough female secret agents before in Bond, that she's got this particular code name I don't think makes it particularly more significant. It's just a fictional code name and will never stop the hero being called James Bond 007.
Apparently there was a scene trimmed out of World Is Not Enough where Moneypenny drove Bond's DB5 because he had his shoulder injury. I wonder if everyone would have been leaping around as if their manhoods had been chopped off if that stayed in the film. To me it's just as unimportant.
Hahaha smart arse ;)
If you are clever you can do both at the same time,if you can multi-task he he .
Causes an awkward scene in the pub though.

I was going to write a long elaborate post about what the core identity of the Bond franchise is, and why EoN - as primarily business people - will not kill their golden goose by changing the core values, but...
Your post capures so much better what i really wanted to say...
I agree she won't lose it. Disagree that she'll get a spinoff. BB and MGW aren't stupid. They know who the star of the show is.
I think Bond will die or retire for good at the end and she'll continue on as 007, but it'll be like JGL taking over as Batman. Won't actually have an impact on future films. They'll just reboot with the next guy.
That's why I don't get why people are getting so worked up over this. It's a fun, different idea they're running with for one movie. Not the end of the world or the status quo changing. They'll never stop making James Bond 007 films in any of our lifetimes.
True....mind you most pubs are full of wa***ers nowadays .
Within the bounds of affirmative action, minorities receive their positions due to their race and not merit.
Maybe not but they WILL change the gender/race of the character at some point. All evidence points to this change coming soon. They will bend the knee to the PC police and wokeness of our modern world.
Marvellous: thanks for confirming what we were all thinking about you ;)
Is that not true? Does AA not consider race to be the deciding factor when viewing candidates for a job?
I think they're more interested in whether you can fix a car or not.
No they don't. Jeez, you're a real negativist downer. Also, it seems you really want to shake things up around here, don't you? Relax, man.
I know most of these reactions come from fear, but cmon, we're better than that. We'll not loose our beloved character or franchise in any way. It will not become unrecognisable. Ever. Now chill. Take a pill. Get real.
I'm down for this.
I wouldn’t hate this. In fact, I kinda want this to happen. Then in a few years, we can ‘reboot’ the series after a trilogy of Nomi/007 movies.
However…….this is VERY dependent on how Lynch fares in Bond 25. Currently we are getting way ahead of ourselves.
Also if this were to pan out, then a Nomi movie should be very different to a Bond movie. Hence why I think Nomi is better suited to streaming.
I really hope she has a look similar to this in the film.she feels pretty amazing here:
Honestly, if you press this on more and more, you'll only get more idiotic reactions like the ones we've been reading.
It seems there are two sides here that are very keen to stir the pot the best they can.
Just chill. And wait for the James Bond movie that's being made right as we speak.
Right?
Laugh or cry ;)
I'm being a realist. If it feels like a downer to you, I'm sorry, but this is what's happening. Bond is over as we know it. Maybe not with this film (fingers crossed) but it's coming. The writing's on the wall.
Edit: Also, think about just the simple change Craig represented. Remember danielcraigisnotbond.com? Bond can't be short, can't be blonde, etc? I thought they were crazy and extremists and thank God the series turned out well (thus far). But these subtle changes crack open the possibility of more changes down the line. The traditional Bond image, tall, dark hair, white, male, etc, has already eroded.
I'll just post this again:
Not good peeps !!
You really need to stop saying stupid things and claiming that they're true.
As for Bond changing race at some point? Yeah, probably. I expect at some point an actor will come along who's great for it who happens to be black, just like Craig and Moore happened to be blond, just like Connery happened to be Scottish and bald, just like Lazenby happened to be Australian and not an actor, just like Brosnan happened to be Irish. No one is the perfect embodiment of the words on Fleming's pages because it's all made up. Who cares?
"B-b-b-but those are all different!!"

Both ends of the spectrum on this board are absolutely ludicrous. One slightly more so than the other, of course. The Bond/Nomi spin-off garbage is one thing, but the evidently prejudiced posts are baffling in this day and age, really.
This is one film, lads. One film. It's not going to lead to a black, female led James Bond film. It's extremely unlikely that it will lead to a spin-off series. It's a single story, self-contained, designed to give Craig a send off that makes narrative and thematic sense for his era. We'll have a new Bond actor for the next film, unless Craig decides he wants to do another (and he probably won't), and that'll probably be completely different to what we've gotten over the last 15 years.
Precisely. And the people saying 'I'll see it now, now that I've heard about the female 007 story point', that's a win for them.
Who could have tell that the troublesome Production Thread would be a grain of sand in a beach as bitchy as this?
Very true, sir. Echoing modern life perfectly, where those of us who are floating around the middle-ground are anonymous.
And your agenda is what? Lack of change?
"Tradition" is code for racism and sexism.
Take a look around you. The world is more diverse. It's increasingly less white. Women and minorities can hold top jobs in business and government just as well as white men traditionally have. They can even--gasp!--drive cars (someone actually made that argument).
And by the way, James Bond in B25 is still being played by a white man, Daniel Craig.
is he the new @PanchitoPistoles ?!?!?!
The crown has passed on...............
Reaper, bro it really doesn't matter. If you're that bothered. Then don't buy a ticket. Vote with your money.
