Behind the scenes photographs from the classic 1964 James Bond film "<a href="http://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/movies/gf.php3">Goldfinger</a>"; that show actress Shirley Eaton preparing for her glistening scene were sold at auction this week.

A private collector in the UK bought the three shots by photographer David Hurn for £2,580.

Jocelyn Phillips, from auctioneers Bonhams, said: 'David Hurn was a photo-journalist who worked for the Magnum agency. The producers of the film commissioned him to take stills of the actors and clearly he had free reign and photographed Shirley Eaton being painted. The scene is one that really stands out in the memory. To see how she was painted with just a large brush is fantastic.'

Nice photos but even if I was a billionaire I don't think I'd pay that much for some photos. It just seems like such a waste of money.

Wasn't this one of those moments where every male crew member brought her breakfast?

That also happened with Ursula Andress I believe.
  • I'm right in thinking she was the first Bond girl to be killed in the franchise, and remains to this day one of the most iconic moments in Bond movie history

I don't think they should of duplicated this with Arterton in QOS, maybe should of just left it as it was, it wasn't necessary to re-do it for a second time, you'll never beat the original and they shouldn't of tried

Eaton had already a James Bond connection of sorts by appearing with Moore in a few episodes of The Saint some time before, the Gold paint took two hours to apply and there were rumors at the time she had even died on set doing it of all things

Really cool photos. You can see where they left her skin exposed around her navel area so she wouldn't suffocate.

They thought it to be true. It's been proven to be totally false. Otherwise divers would die!
