My best friend has one of these, but they were never considered a great Mercedes.
3) Peugeot 404 coupé.
+1. Disclaimer: No, I'm not a Mercedes hater. Had a 2004 W211 E320 CDI wagon for 12 years and loved it. For its space, quietness and unobtrusive elegance, among other things, something sadly missing from most of today's MBs.
Oh there's a lot of Peugeots I love. Anything before 1990 basically is pretty cool I think. Even the 206 was a very fresh design that's stood the test of time, and the 406, albeit a child of it's time still stands as a design highlight. It's from there on that they went downhill faster than Linsey Vonn.
Saw a 204 in the parking garage yesterday. Love it!
I'm not a merc hater but it's so much on-and-off I can't really b bothered anymore. Take the A-cass as an example: the current ones I like, but if you see where they came from....
And that interior is indeed a nineties ghettoblaster if ever I saw one. That screams everything but luxury.
And then we wonder why Mercedes is firing lots of people, will no longer offer a V8 in their AMG cars and is axing models. :-?
Overstuffed. That won't survive well. I like my dashboards classy and simple. One of the reasons why I went for the current MX5. Even though I am very critical of the horrid screen display mine has, very Merc like btw. If we're talking about interiors, I think the Alfas got them right at some point.
Just type it in on google and check the pictures. That boombox was a ghettoblaster. The rocket, however, is an optional extra specificly deviced by Q.
;-)
I'm always suspicious of people who refer to cars as 'she' :D
Haha. But just look at that beauty.
Hurry now, I'm about to make an offer. ;)

Sad sad day for Australians. Holden has a special place in the hearts of many Australians. The rivalry between Holden and Ford, V8 supercars, and generations of Holden love will be no more.
But the writing was on the wall after cease of local manufacturing a few years ago, for Holden and Ford and Toyota, and intense competition in the local market (we have 50+ car brands here)
The amount of brands that were killed by GM is frightening.

;)
That'd be me. You'll know why when you've driven a car that deserves it. ;-)
And this one is for sale in your neck of the woods. ;)
Alas, my budget isn't comfortable with that kind of spending. And buying is only the start.....
;)
Heaven. I've had a 156 TI and a 147 Monza. Alfa really knows how to make beautiful driver-centric dashboards. Hell, they know how to make beautiful cars, fullstop.
Some sexy dashboards there. =D>
I’ve driven Astons, Ferraris, Porsches, have a daily sportscar... none of them warrant me sounding like a berk! ;)

OF those probably Astons deserve it. It's not only how they look, it's how they behave. i.e. Alfa's (mine, anyway) certainly behaves like a lady? A lot of fun to take out, but sometimes she trows a tantrum for no apparent reason and logic goes out the door. Above all, they have their 'oddities'.
My alfa i.e. for no explicable reason has an indicator bar which jumps back when you turn right, as it should, but remains adamant you haven't turned enough when you go left, no matter if you did a 360 already. As long as she behaves like a lady, I'll talk about her like a lady....
Anyway, I grew up (partially) amongst aeroplanes, and most, i not all pilots talk about their aircraft like ladies. I suppose for exctly the same reason.
Do you have a pilot's license? ;))
