It looks to me as if that forest sequence could be done in one shot.

The car flip? I doubt Mr Craig is really there.

Actually, watching the car flip again I think maybe, possibly (whisper it) the car might be CG... I might be wrong.

I think you're wrong. Seems like it was done for real. At least it looks like it. Could be wrong.

I dunno... it just moves a bit too perfectly for me, and I think if you were filming that you'd have Craig there and then put the car in after. Not to mention it's a dangerous position to have a camera operator in (although I know that doesn't rule it out).
It also has a head-on smash with a log and its headlights keep working! And car manufacturers do like their brand new models to look good onscreen...

I think it's a real stunt but it's possibly stitched together from two shots to look like a continuous take.

Yeah, I have a feeling both Paloma and Felix will die.

You can also see Bond swimming away from the destruction of the boat alone.

When Felix said somewhat similar line as Mathis, i knew that. :-SS

I imagine they filmed both separately. The car crashing, and Bond moving and shooting and then they place the images together in post-production.

That would've been the correct attitude to make this scene so realistic.

If the car flip is CG, then it’s some of the best, if not the best I’ve ever seen.

Maybe, I think it's hard to tell either way at the moment. Something looks a bit fishy about it to me (beyond Craig obviously not being really exposed to huge danger!) but it's hard to tell with CG nowadays! :)

I have no words to describe my excitement. So...

    giphy.gif

  • Ah, that was excellent, and largely spoiler-free! The cinematography is quite something... a lot of purple, orange, and vanilla hues.

Paloma is looking like she'll be the MVP of the film's Cuba sequence.

    And where is Q?

We see him, briefly, in the hull of the plane and with the others when Blofeld says "Fate has brought us back together."

If the Thunderball sound is from Zimmer's score, then maybe it's an indication that Zimmer might use the 007 theme in a modern way?

    Oh, well...one can only dream.

Yes. So. Much. Yes. This trailer is fire and epic (re)defined. The cinematography and direction are absolutely spot on. Craig looks fantastic, probably the best he has ever looked and the action sequences seem to be out of this world.. All hail Fukunaga for providing his beautiful brain for NTTD. I cannot bloody wait! The best send off for Craig he could possibly wish for.

It looks bloody amazing. I couldn't see any ropey CGI. However, I did notice a certain expression Daniel has when he's delivering comedic dialogue. It's like his tell. Not a criticism; just an observation. Roll on November.

Best trailer for the film yet, I'd say. Love the action and cinematography on display, looking infinitely better than anything SP could've delivered. Seems the stakes are the highest they've been for the era and I really love that "if we don't do this..." line, further adds to the urgency of it all. I just hope the supposed twists and "backstory secrets" don't take priority and muck up what could be a straightforward classic, save the world plot.

So they very nicely edited the shot that was in the NBA TV spot where we saw
    a bloodied/dying Felix

It looks like they re-framed it a bit, alright!

While people heard Thunderball, I heard notes that sound like QOS trailer and EON videogame...

@antovolk Any idea as to when an HD or 4k version of the trailer will be made available somewhere?

4K probably never, full HD soon enough given there's a high Res version now available to press.
  • definitely references to yolt , do you agree?

This shot kinda accentuates my key reservation from the trailer.

I know that most of that set is real, but the CGI to extend it looks a little janky. It looks a bit like a video game. There are other examples in the trailer.

And what about the "Cowboys and Indians" - type of dialogue between Bond and Felix? Very, very cool. Very Fleming.

Yes, Felix voicing Mathis' dialog from Fleming's Casino Royale.

    Salut.

We probably have to hold our reservations until an actual higher quality/ res version comes out. Then we can truly judge, I reckon.

Also I think that might be Valdo who falls on top of the car in the Cuba sequence.

Wow. I’m super hyped for NTTD. After radio silence for months on this film, this trailer rekindled my excitment!

This looks like it could be a blend of all the films of the Daniel Craig: the action, and emotional weight of Casino Royale; the style and slickness of Skyfall (and to an extent Quantum of Solace); and Spectre’s, uh....never mind.

Loving the music, with Hans Zimmer’s touch of the Bond theme and the Thunderball-esque horns (if that is indeed him). In terms of scope and aesthetics, NTTD looks grand; Linus Sandgren’s cinematography feels epic and lush with so many color tones; kind of has this dreamlike quality to it. Really enjoying the interplay between Bond and Paloma, Bond and Leiter – “heroes and villains” line is reminiscent of both the QoS novel and and film with Mathis; and Rami Malek is definitely going to be the Bond villain of the ages - menacing, calculating, and just downright creepy.

Last but not least, Daniel Craig screams James Bond” with a capital B. Seriously, he hasn’t felt like Bond to me since CR and, to some degree, SF. Here, he owns it.

What a ride NTTD is shaping up to be.
