Hope the movie itself will be just as good as the trailer. Also hoping for a good send off for Daniel Craig.

Ever since CJF was announced as director and I saw that he was also working on revisions of the script, I had no concerns about the film. He is the real deal. The marketing for this film has been uneven, but I know the actual product will be first class.

Honestly I think the film is gonna be 100% better than even what the marketing has given. As great as everything looks, I can't help but feel the editing of these trailers are a bit odd, but the film is going to be excellent I'm sure :)

So supposedly Ash is shot by Bond in the forest? I can't find the screenshot, but the Land Rover that revolves has a hole in the front window, like the one Logan uses to shoot at Bond during the pursuit

My theory would be that Ash survives the crash. The hole in the window is from Ash's shots, and Bond either kills Ash after the crash, or he survives and is dealt with during the third-act.

The brief shot of the seaplane with Jamaica in the background. In waters to the left of the seaplane we can see the yacht Bond is sailing.

    WOW

What is there to say, trailer 2 looks sensational. The music is brilliant on the trailer also.

RAMPED right back up my excitement and expectations for this one. This looks to be WELL worth the wait and I didn’t think I’d say that any time soon.

The cinematography to me at least looks rich and to be of real substance. Quite the instalment I think we’re in for.

Anyway, back to watching a few more times back to back.

While it doesn’t seem British enough for my tastes, it looks good for what it is I suppose. Reminds of the Brosnan pictures. Basically bombastic Hollywood stuff.

I think I was spoiled by the last two films. Mendes really put his heart and soul into reminding us that Bond is intrinsically British.

Nice little bit of business with Paloma keeping Bond's tuxedo in a briefcase.

    LOVE her expression here.

For someone who grew up with DAF, I'm just fine with the CGI. I'm sure there is a ton of perfect CGI shots throughout the trailer but because they are supporting ordinary environments and actions people are not spotting them or picking them to pieces.

Better make that two! She is just perfect as a Bond girl! I'm doubting it will happen, but a special scene with her and Craig would be nice ;)

    Wow.

That looks excellent. And I absolutely love the plane turning into a submarine.

Another tidbit: the DBS peeling out, near what appears to be an airbase. Have we seen that before?

No, but I do remember Lynch saying she filmed on an airbase in the UK, plus we see her and Bond in the back of that big military plane, so we can guess how it all fits together.

It's also quite fun that we've seen out first bit of footage of the Valhalla. Is it just a bit of set dressing in one of Q's labs and nothing more?
  • Good trailer though kind of wish I did not watch it.

Really? I mean, it's basically the same as the first trailer...In fact, it reveals less than the first trailer. In many respects, it feels like re-heats of the first trailer....There, we were told about the Madeleine betrayal, Safin's connection to her, Nomi being a 00, Felix asking for help. This trailer literally tells us all the same things. In fact, the trailer is basically a re-heated version of the first!

I'm not complaining about that. Less is always more and the first trailer was fire. Also, it came out 9 months ago, so makes sense to basically re-serve it....

However, I am complaining about the wonky CGI and the file compression on YouTube! I feel I can't enjoy those Sandgren visuals properly!!!

The stand-out shot for me currently is below. I adore how the light is touching Lea's hair:

Yeah, I think in the timeline of events, Nomi picks Bond up after the forest sequence and they head to the base then.

I read somewhere that all the “on road” footage of the Valhalla was cut from the film. Cant remember where though,

The last shot of the car flying past Bond and Bond making sure the car was dead (which was amusing) would have been a nice surprise in the cinema.

@Fire_and_Ice_Returns There is more personality and likability to Madeline in that two second shot than the whole of Spectre.

methinks the people doth protest too much

That trailer was absolutely brilliant. No complaints here. None.
  • As far as the trailer itself is concerened it's quite similar in structure to pretty much every other theatrical trailer in Craig's run, so it would have been nice to see a little bit of a diversion from the usual.

We didn't really get much extra as far as plot, character, etc. is concerned so I don't have much to say about that. That being said, the visuals are really what stick with me from this trailer. I do really like the different palette here with the pinks, purples, and that soft, hazy dreamlike texture, but at the same time there are moments where it does feel quite artificial. I don't know if it's a matter of CGI or if it's just a stylistic choice but it's quite a departure from the realistic, grounded stylization we've seen lately.

If I hadn't heard comments from the cast, producers, and director about the emotionality and character beats in this film, I'd probably be concerned that we're getting a very big, loud action blockbuster more in the vein of Mission Impossible or Fast & Furious than Skyfall or Casino Royale. It looks like they're leaning on the action and spectacle to sell tickets, and I have no doubt after that trailer that it'll deliver. I really hope they've got something really out of left field for the Madeleine-Safin connection, because a retread of the M/Silva or Bond/Blofeld material will be such a disappointment.

I think leaning on spectacle is a good choice considering where the world is at right now. It's exactly what people will go to theatres for if they are in a position to.

After all we've been through, all we've lost, and all that's been done to bring us this film, I can't even imagine not loving that trailer.

    Looks brilliant. Can't wait.

I think it's pretty cool we're getting the grand-scale, global threat feel for Craig's final outing. He hasn't had it before, and it's a fine idea for him to go out as Bond with the biggest stakes yet. The action/spectacle looks phenomenal, and it's the last aspect that worries me about the movie. Though I want it to be even better, I'll be satisfied as long as the film is a marked improvement over SP, and a decent entry in general. I have a pretty good feeling about it.

Madeline should smile more that's for sure.

NTTD will live or die by its script ultimately. Hopefully we will get nothing remorely like SP.

I think one of the most difficult things for NTTD is how uninteresting Madeleine was in Spectre and how unconvincing the love story between her and Bond was. If they want this film to work, they're basically going to have to re-sell the audience on that character/relationship with probably not a ton of screen time.

Superb trailer. I enjoyed this even more than the other trailers for this film.
    Must be the Bond theme.
