Inspired by Thunderfingers "Bond film tournament", I thought it could be interesting to start another weekly poll where we have to decide between to possibilites. While Tunderfinger's tournament is only about the ranking of the whole bond movies, I would like to ask you to decide between different components of different movies (or even the same movie) like characters, cars, action scenes, soundtracks, funny moments etc...
I will try to ask questions where the answer shouldn't be too obvious. (I won't ask you "Which car do you prefer: Aston Martin DB5 or BMW 750iL"...) If there are enough interested members, I will ask two new questions every week and I will make a summary of all results on the first page.
You can simply answer by only writing the component you prefer. But feel free to explain your decision in a few sentences if you want.

Comments
And that goes for the shower scene vs death of Vesper. Both were equally as touching! Quite frankly, I will never forget my first few viewings of CR-- I couldn't believe we were getting such emotionally layered and charged scenes in a Bond film. I thought after OHMSS we would never see anything like that film's ending again... When I heard they were doing CR I always wondered what the ending would be, and I almost choked when I heard "the bitch is dead"...
(I disqualify myself from this round, lol)
B. Shower scene.
b) The death of Vesper in the lift, you can see the panic and desperation in her face as she realises she is drowning.
The Shower scene
B) Shower scene
Easy choices for me
The Shower Scene. The death scene is a bit overdone imho and I've always felt that way. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, but I love how the shower scene is able to convey so much more with its simplicity. Plus, it's very moving and no one dies.
B) Vesper’s Death.
I prefer Vesper's death firstly because it's such a haunting moment, and secondly that moment changes Bond's character and his overall arc in the movie.
He was in QOS........................................literally.
B) That's a hard one, both are perfect. My wife loves the shower scene, Bond-Craig won her over with his behaviour towards Vesper then. I get goosebumps every time when Vesper drowns with her eyes open and screaming (even thinking of it does). So its the shower scene for me, for its simplicity and effectiveness, by the narrowest of margins.
At least he was recycled for that film.
True...he is probably part of an aeroplane by now.
My own vote: Mathis is an interesting and very likeable character. Giannini and Wright are both very charismatic and talented actors but I think the script gives Mathis more to do that sticks positively in mind. I would prefer another last scene for him in the movie (after the electric shocker).
In my opinion, the shower scene is the most emotional scene in the bond movie history. Difficult to explain why, but it touches me every time I watch it. As others said above: its simplicity and effectiveness is extraordinary.
Mathis seems to win easier than I thought. But the other duel between the shower scene and the death of Vesper isn't decided at all. Tie,
6:6 right now. Any other voters?
A) Which character do you prefer in CR : Felix Leiter vs René Mathis?
I'd have to go with Mathis, considering how integral he is to the proceedings and that Leiter isn't terribly fleshed out in the few moments he has on screen.
B) Which CR scene is emotionally more touching: shower scene vs death of Vesper?
The death of Vesper. I'm not all that crazy about the shower sequence - it's fine, but nothing on the level of Bond's distraught rage and sadness once he fails to save Vesper.
=)) The thought had occurred to me as I was typing it.
B) Death of Vesper
B) Which CR scene is emotinally more touching: death of Vesper -
Mathis (CR) vs. Leiter (CR): Mathis wins easily 13 : 2
Death of Vesper beats the shower scene 9 :6
Round 2:
A) Which villainous General do you prefer? General Orlov (OP) vs. General Ourumov (GE)
B) Which OP scene do you prefer (or in other words: is less annoying?) Bond hiding in a gorilla suit vs. Bond and the Tarzan yell
Gorilla suit.
B) I actually love the gorilla suit.
I will echo this.
B) The gorilla suit is OK, the Tarzan yell ranks at the bottom with the surfing scene in DAD.
B. Gorilla suit
B) Which OP scene do you prefer (or in other words: is less annoying?) Bond hiding in a gorilla suit - Nothing to dislike in OP as far as I’m concerned, but the gorilla costume always raises a giggle in my cage
PS I do have a soft spot for Octopussy, always thought it a great ‘rainy Sunday afternoon’ movie.
performance of the two, although both are perfectly suited to their particular films. They are both traitors who meet their end on or near a train. I saw and loved OP before GE so that was my tiebreaker.
B) Going with the Gorilla suit. Don't get me started on how Bond gets in and out of it without anyone noticing though. At least it has a purpose, providing Bond with a place to hide. The Tarzan yell only lasts a couple of seconds, but is the more painful experience.
