I’m definitely doing the early IMAX opening. I did the same thing for SKYFALL.

I am a bit confused. Imdb says the Norwegian premiere is Oct 1st, but there is no confirmation at the local cinema, or any pre-sale yet.
I'm thinking there's good news on the way, @Thunderfinger.

James Bond har forlatt aktiv tjeneste og nyter et rolig liv på Jamaica.

    Regi: Danny Boyle

Skuespillere: Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Jeffrey Wright, Ana de Armas, Léa Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw

    My local.......

Our mezzanine will be transformed into a Bond-style casino on the evening of Friday 1 October to celebrate the release of #NoTimeToDie!
You’ll be greeted by a dazzling display of Aston Martins in our forecourt, a red carpet, suited & booted staff and a glass of prosecco. Then get your poker face on to play roulette and blackjack without the worry of losing real money!
(& dig out your sharpest suit because there’s a prize for the best dressed!)

My theatre in France has opened reservations. But there are only IMAX 3D sessions available! I don't understand, this movie was not shot in 3D!

It's getting a post-converted 3D release in some markets, looks like France is one of them...

Others confirmed so far are Germany, Russia/CIS and Eastern Europe, the Netherlands, and some US screenings will be 3D too.

It's a shame. These conversions are unnecessary and only serve to increase the price of the ticket.

It’s weird to do this with Bond NOW, after 3D has been declining heavily over the years.

Got my ticket today, for the 30th at 8pm, IMAX screening!
I actually thought I was having an out of body experience, Is this really happening?, Am I actually booking tickets for the New Bond movie right now????

Last time I booked tickets for this film they postponed it two hours later. It has now been two days since I again booked tickets and the film is still on the schedule. I might be getting my hopes back up again...

in 'mature' markets like the US and UK. In Asia, China, Eastern Europe it is still an important part of getting people out to cinemas in general.

the surprise is France, Germany and the US getting it. When we first found out about the 3D it was just Eastern Europe..

Well, they don't think to have thought that during a pandemic people wear masks, and that mask + (3D) glasses = fog/mist on the glass I believe = not see well + annoying...

Hey I still got a good feeling about that. It's my nature.

In the US Regal updated release dates to 8 Oct 2021, alongside an image promoting their Craig Bond marathon 8 April (2019). So I think they let their reliable website managers go during the pandemic.

  • From the James Bond Facebook page...

I wonder what Ralph Fiennes and Christoph Waltz will do on that evening?
Maybe attend the premieres in Paris or Zurich?
  • Canada is also getting the 3D treatment, but I'm assuming none of the 3D screenings will play in IMAX.

About 3D, there is the same thing for Dune. It's very weird. I don't know who decides this. I don't know if the directors are involved or at least giving their opinion on this.

Yeah in US and Canada the IMAX screenings should be 2D only.

In Europe it seems it's gonna be like they're doing with Dune, the dubbed screenings in IMAX 3D, OV in IMAX 2D.

@Heisenberg there is a discussion between the director and the studio about this, ultimately Fukunaga and EON did sign this off. But clearly they did not allow this version to go out in the UK at all

    Thank you for the information.

I would point out that in France, even the OV screenings are in 3D. There is no possibility at all to see it in IMAX 2D.

I remember when all IMAX screenings were practically 3D, with exceptions like Nolan films. So when 2D IMAX screenings finally became an option I was so relieved because I loved IMAX but hated 3D.

    I like 3D when it's a director's choice. But I hate these cheap conversions.

Contacted my local theater today, unfortunately they aren't enforcing any sort of mask mandates or even social distancing within the seats, which is a damn shame. I'm fully vaccinated, though, and I refuse to miss this one in theaters, so I guess I'll have to stay fully masked the whole time and miss out on that greasy, delicious, overpriced popcorn I haven't gotten to enjoy in years.

I'm grateful one of our local independent theaters has a vaccination requirement to enter. They're the ones getting my money.
