Nice! Talk about excellent timing! :D
It was just made available and I'm ready for October 6th :)
Sat Oct 9th at 12pm.
Still trying to figure out what we want to do.
I think @Birdleson is pining for an invitation.
The good news: got tickets for my brother and I, October 6, early access - expensive, but surely worth getting it a little early!
Friendly tip...you might want to rebook to Citywalk ;)
Haha, just did after hearing the same from a friend! Thanks for the tip.
Sounds like a blast! I can't imagine what it would be like to have seen all of them in theaters when they premiered.
As for me, since my plans altered, I managed a ticket for 4 pm on Thursday, October 7th. Can't believe it's so close now.
Casino Royale plays at AMC theaters Friday 24 September, and the following days through Thursday.
For me in Northern Virginia I see two local theaters, two showtimes per day 12:00 and 3:25 pm.

My dream to see CR on the big screen lives to die another day!
My nearest theater, where I also booked my early NTTD tickets, appears to have it. I was going to do all the Craig films in a day before, but now I’ll have to plan something interesting to at least see the first and last ones in theaters and the others probably at home (assuming QOS, SF, and SP don’t get this treatment).
I saw that. Looks like the common consensus favorites are the only ones getting the love this time. I imagine the main reason for the marathon’s disappearance is the concern of having people in one place for so long during a day. I definitely want to see CR at least since I never had the opportunity before, but I may pass on SF on the big screen since I did that I think thrice back in 2012. Coolest part is that they’re going for $5 a ticket near me!
I've got the option of seeing it on a few different types of screen, locally, and am wondering which to pick.
antovolk, for idiots like me that aren't so technologically minded, and that want to watch the film in IMAX and the best quality possible, where should we be booking in London then? Reading your earlier posts, Cineworld Leicester Square seems to be the only choice-correct? BFI IMAX is my only experience of watching something in a cinema in London. To be honest, that left me a bit cold when seeing Spectre. Not only could I see the scaffolding clearly behind the screen in the lighter scenes-the Austria and Morocco ones-a workman's walkie talkie went off backstage, and could hear it clearly. Both issues really took me out of the film. Out of my 3 cinema viewings of SP, the one at the IMAX was the one I enjoyed least, in terms of cinematic experience.
I was wondering if QoS was going to be playing in any theaters. I wouldn't mind catching it for a sixth time there.
Correct (for IMAX, or make the trip to Manchester), or the Odeon Leicester Square & West End for Dolby Cinema (Dolby Vision projection and Atmos audio)
Onyx is a very new technology which is basically a giant TV screen in lieu of a projector. Most filmmakers are definitely feeling very apprehensive about it, while for others it is an interesting thing because of benefits like HDR, which you can get from top line TVs at home, being brought to the big screen in full force.
Worth trying just as a curio but in terms of artistic intent with this film, go IMAX or Dolby first.
1. AMC Metreon (San Francisco)
2. AMC CityWalk (Los Angeles)
3. Bullock State Museum IMAX (Austin)
4. IMAX Entertainment Centre (Branson)
5. TN Aquarium IMAX (Chattanooga) not officially announced but multiple confirmations via DM
6. AutoNation IMAX (Ft. Lauderdale)
7. AMC Lincoln Square (NYC)
Also the Smithsonian venues (eg Udvar-Hazy) are hoping to screen it but unconfirmed ATM. In Canada, Scotiabank in Toronto will be full 1.43, there's also the Cinesphere in Toronto too but unknown if they'll screen the film yet.
To add as well, just came back yesterday from seeing Dune in Brussels (also filmed in IMAX, though digitally, but 1hr+ of full 1.43 footage) and when seeing on a "real IMAX" screen like that, having the full screen image really makes a massive difference. (We had the Top Gun 2 trailer in 1.90 before the show so it was a good reference point to compare as well). IMO I don't think it's worth going to a 1.43 venue like the BFI, unless they will screen it in the full format with laser projection. Otherwise it would be best to settle for the next best 1.90 venue (for London folks, that Cineworld I mentioned before is really great. And in Germany they're opening the biggest IMAX in the world on the 30th in Leonberg, it's 44mx22m 1.90)
0) (Precise your country).
1) Are the cinemas in your country currently closed by the government or not? (If so, when is the film scheduled?)
2) (If yes, are cinemas closed in the whole country or just in one part, like a region or a city?)
3) What are the current conditions for accessing cinemas in your country? (example: see the answer for France below).
4) Is there a law in your country which obliges the wearing of a mask in the cinemas during the screening of films? (You can add if mask if you personally think masks should or shouldn't be mandatory).
5) Is there a limit to the number of seats in cinemas? (And a eventual curfew?)
_______________
In mainland France, here is what it is:
1) Theaters/cinemas are open (the film is set to be release on October 6 here).
3) Access to the cinemas (as to many places) is EXCLUSIVELY reserved to people who can present what we call here a "Pass sanitaire" (Health Pass). This is a paper or digital document that can be obtained if you have fulfilled at least one of the following three conditions:
- Issued after 7 days to anyone who has received a second injection of a double injection vaccine recognized by the European Union (such as Pfizer) (for single injection vaccines such as Johnson & Johnson, it is 28 days later).
- Have been tested negative for COVID via a screening test (like PCR test) less than 72 hours ago.
- Have proof that you were infected (less than 6 months ago) and have since recovered.
4) There is currently no law that obliges cinema owners to require (except for eventual prefectural orders) the masks wearing for theirs customers. However, the law allows cinemas owners who wish to do it (on a voluntary basis) to require it, and/so in practice many cinemas owners impose to their customers to wear a mask during screenings.
5) There is no limit to the number of seats, no obligation to leave empty one seat on two.
(If things change in your country between now and the release of the film, please add an update).
