What Happened?

Will there be another video game with Daniel Craig's own contribution unlike the generic 007 Legends? Not since Bloodstone has there been an attempt at an original game that can act as a movie with today's updated graphics. I though DC was a serious gamer.

Definitely not. NTTD is his last film so surely another game starring him would've been announced and set to release alongside the film's release. It's a shame, too, I've been hoping for another installment ever since the previous one. Maybe interest in doing so will be revitalized once the next era begins.

I am posting this here and I might in bond gaming future thread

I know this guys video is about splinter cell but it works for bond too

Though I had a 2 dreams about 007 last night one was that there was a Die Another Day game for n64 and in the dream I was aware of the game and didn’t like it that much... lol

In all seriousness with video game companies more interested in getting tons of money from players rather then being interested in putting out good games (which ironically would give the company tons of money) the video game world is sadly dead to me...

The last console I got was the 360 and true I did play a few games post then specifically the telltale Batman series, injustice 2 for a bit on my phone (I prefer injustice 1 on my phone and it’s still my most played game to be honest though I am stuck on a certain fight so any help fellow mobile players pm me) and Alkeline Gun but that’s is it I have seen videos of a new hitman game with a dlc level where you play as a ninja with traditional ninja weapons and while that looks really cool I dunno... hell I still haven’t picked up Arkham knight I played a bit of it when I was over my wife’s friends apartment but the batmobile was so clunky and annoying to drive I genuinely stopped caring

I just find it weird that even bond games that get no love on here specifically James Bond 007 for the game boy and the game boy versions of Everything or Nothing And the world is not enough I am having more fun playing those then I had watching any video game trailer over the last few years... heck I am only half excited on Batman Arkham Court as while some things I like (batcycle and a possible battle for the Cowl storyline) again I am hearing rumors of Joker being the main villain AGAIN.

Currently because I want achievements I am playing Murdered Soul suspect and Batman Arkham origins Blackgate.. but in all honesty while I yearn for a new bond game (and let me tell you playing through 007 racing simply for something new should indicate the level of want I have lol) I don’t know if I want one in today’s environment the fear being that with all the focus on pre release post release and special sets any company would forget to actually you know make a good game

I have put nearly 30 hrs into Breakpoint (between 28-29 hrs), and I genuinely believe that it doesn't deserve the hate. At no point have I felt my progress impeeded by microtransactions. And for the record, I have my character dressed all in black, not unlike Bond in the PTS of TLD and GE.

Though I see his point about why they don't want to make another Splinter Cell, as it wouldn't fit into the current Live Service trend.

I would argue the same is true for 007 again does anyone really want to shell out money for say extra levels no of course not does anyone want to shell out money for a Roger Moore styled safari suit well ok everyone does but still lol

I fear espionage games just don’t work in today’s gaming world

Personally I don't think there will be another one, but his Bond deserves a final really good game imho.

I think the whole stealth/spy genre is dying out. Not been 007 game in 8 years we have not seen a Splinter Cell game in 7 years. The last Spy game I remmber playing that was decent was Hitman 2.

Blood stone got shafted with both Skyfall and that 007 Legends. It doesn't even feel good playing the game knowing that both Daniel Craig didn't reprise his role although it's nice that a lesser known voice actor got paid for working...it just doesn't have that feel of quality like Blood Stone did. Daniel Craig never even mentioned or had a streaming game play to promote it. It was just like Skyfall....it flipped the bird at the legacy started by CR and QoS!

I wouldn't say that for sure, Brosnan played himself as Bond in Everything or Nothing in 2004, which was two years after his final film. Although admittedly, his "departure" wasn't quite as planned as Craig's.

The big difference here is that Brosnan was fair game for everything Bond related after DAD. He liked the voice recording, he wanted to make another film. Craig has enjoyed his time in the role too, but it's crystal clear he wants to close the chapter on Bond and end on a high. That probably includes any voice work and promotion that has nothing to do with this final film. He has done all the photo shoots and commercials for the tie-in products from sponsors, and was ready to embark on his final Bond press tour. Now he has to resume that press tour in October/November, but after that it seems it's truly over.
  • I hope it will give enough time for a reconsideration to make up for the lack of follow up for Blood Stone which ended on a mysterious note.

Even though 007 Legends brought back some of the original voices in their respective films, it wasn't original as Blood Stone felt like a movie on it's own. In today's graphics world, it's a better time for such productions which include their own title songs played with all the effort if singers like Joss Stone who probably ran out of breath when she finished singing the title song. Blood Stone has that Casino Royal-Quantum of Solace set design feel to it which only helped to define Daniel Craig as an original take on Bond instead of someone trying to copy a previous actor like how we've seen too many times.

If a prequel video game were made to bridge the events of Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, Judi Dench could come back as M. It would allow Daniel Craig to still end on a high note as he wishes if he were to give his blessing by voicing the part so that video games don't feel like they're playing garbage that was rejected by the initial choice actors.
  • A prequel set between QoS and SF would be a good video game for Daniel Craig in this age of better graphics.
  • Bloodstone had such an excellent title song. It was so great to see a video game act like a movie especially when it had the official stamp/voice of its portrayed actors.

It is such an injustice that Joss Stone was not invited to perform a film title song and that the Bloodstone theme song plays with such care and passion putting it all in with the effort for everyone to enjoy. It's one of those few Bond songs that is not polarizing like Skyfall (which was under-lyriced for lack of a better term) when Adell says the words "Stoolennnnn" and other parts of the song where syllables are stretched to make up for the lyrics.

I'll Take It All is certainly one of those which all the fans might like.
