Sorry to bump up this thread but I havent yet bought skyfall because its only a 1 disc. Does anybody know if they are going to make like a mutiple disc ultimate edition of Skyfall?

^ Given that we never had a QoS Ultimate Edition, I seriously doubt it.

Well QoS had a 2 disc special edition at least. So I assume Skyfall will, plus Skyfall made so much money I assume it will get a speical dvd release of it

Yes but the "2nd disc" for QoS only featured a couple of trailers, the music video and a few featurettes. Hardly worthy of a second disc now is it? It was only marketed and released in that manner as it sounds like you're getting a good deal.

"2 Disc Special Edition packed with bonus features". Total BS!

Well, as DVD is considered a "dead format" i doubt that we will get another edition of SF on DVD.
But then there's always other way's to get the special features on a disc... ;))

Some countries tend to use those alternate ways more than others, isn't it so @MrBond? ;))

I have the DVD but haven't opened it (got it for my birthday, wanted the bluray but it wasn't currently available)
  • I'm not going to lie, that's absolutely sucky that they would do that now. After all the fans bought the boxset, the late comers are the ones who get all the films in the set. Oh well, I'm just griping, but I know others feel the same way.

What do you expect? They give you a bluray of SF the day it is released in cinemas?

God knows I'm critical of the shoddiness of the box set but even I don't expect EON to commit commercial seppuku.

Was at Best Buy today and I saw that. Smart move doing it before Black Friday. Does anybody know if the disc art now matches all of the other ones?

Going by the picture on Amazon, yes. I'm not sure about the menus though.

If your talking about the 50th anniversry Box set they left a blank Disc holder in the set for Skyfall when i came out on DVD & Blu ray

I was going to get the BluRay set a few months ago until I heard that the menus are the same as on the '06 Ultimate Edition DVDs. I'll wait until the entire set is updated again. Have the menus for CR and QoS also been updated or are they the standard ones we got with the original DVD releases?

Casino Royale has, Quantum Of Solace is the same.

What I'm wondering is, with this latest update, do Quantum Of Solace and Skyfall match the rest?

    Thanks @Samuel001

Couple of questions. Why didn't they do one for QoS if they were prepared to do one for CR? And I notice "Casino Royale" doesn't appear through the gunbarrel or on the main menu. Have they removed the titles from all the films or just not included it on CR?

Just Casino Royale. It's a not quite perfect update. As for why both weren't done, who knows. This new Bond 50 edition is one way to sort that out and fix Skyfall too.

Will they do it? We'll find out when it's released.

I just wish the couple of missing features from I think only two films, were put back on. Make it really complete!

Is there any information on the new edition?

None, other than it includes Skyfall.

I just want a collector's edition of QoS with loads of special features and deleted scenes. I would buy it in a heartbeat with that alternate ending.

I get the distinct feeling that the box set will be exactly the same as the last one but with the SF disc included. Unless the entire set is given a complete makeover, I won't be conned into buying it.

Nor indeed why should you really when they can't be bothered to change anything!

I already have all of the separate films on blu-ray. The only way I would ever trade them all in for a box set is if all of the films came in unique blu-ray steelbooks with hours upon hours of never-before-seen interviews, deleted scenes, etc. for all of the films.

@Creasy47 which seems highly unlikely. It does seem that MGM/Fox don't like to put their hands in their pockets to put a nice, swanky new set together. Hell, why should they? I mean SF only made them a bucket load of cash thanks to it's $1 Billion B.O. haul. How dare they waste a small amount of their profit by rewarding the fans for their success...

@WillyGalore, you couldn't be more correct. It's such a shame, too, as you know the amount of money it would take to make an appealing, worthy DVD/blu-ray set would cost much, much less than what they would end up making back.

Yes, and that's the essential point that makes their reluctance to do this all the more baffling.

I didnt know about this new set until I read this thread and know nothing about it but one thing I can tell you with 100% certainty is that the new set will have the same QOS disc that doesnt match and the same SF blu ray that has already been released. If it doesnt you can e-mail me an I will refund the price of the box set so confident am I in EON and MGM's total indifference to delivering a quality product.

If they couldnt be arsed for the 50th why would they bother for the 51st?

Why indeed? I'm sure they must be short of a penny. Pass the collection tin around, folks!

I have a question the Skyfall Blu-ray/ DVD + Digital Copy that comes with both a blu-ray disc and a regular DVD disc in one right?

No, they're separate. The blu-ray is on one disc and the DVD/digital copy are on another disc.
