No, they're separate. The blu-ray is on one disc and the DVD/digital copy are on another disc.

Ok but do they come in the same case?

Yeah, where else would they come from? The DVD/digital copy is on the left inside the case, and the blu-ray is on the right inside.

One of them has to be QoS, as per usual. We have yet to see so much content from that film, which is a shame, including that cut ending with White and Haines.

Still upset that they never released a UE for QoS with extra features and deleted scenes, especially that alternate ending. @fjdinardo, I would go ahead and get it. If you've waited this long, it'll be about $10 brand new on Black Friday, or you can get it on GoHastings right now for less than $10 used. I've ordered used movies from them before because of their sales and they came in great condition.

I believe one feature from Casino Royale did not make the new set and many of the ones from Die Another Day never made it on to anything, passed the first release.

I have the CE CR blu-ray and I'm fairly certain that has every CR special feature out there, or so I would hope.

I think one documentary, or maybe a commentary track, did not make the Blu-ray is one region or another.

Ahh, of course. I've noticed a big craze these days in putting different special features in different versions of DVD's/blu-rays at different retailers. With 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' you got this special documentary if you bought it here, but a nice commentary over there, but you'd also get a behind-the-scenes look if you bought it here. It's annoying. Same with WWZ: they offer so many different covers and behind-the-scenes looks. I just got it from FYE. I loved the cover that they had at Best Buy, but I was not shelling out an extra $10 for a different cover.

Not only that, some colours on the Blu-ray editions still need fixing to get them back to the SE DVD level, though I doubt this will ever happen as EON now work from the 'remastered' prints. Hold onto those SE DVDs people! Those also have the correct sound effects in place, perhaps due to a mono track.

Sadly, I traded in almost all of my DVD's. Had the big DVD collection and some spare DVD's that I managed to trade in and reserve a bunch of upcoming blu-rays with. Now I'll never notice the color difference because I have nothing to compare it to, sadly.

Look up some caption caparisons online. Some colour contracts are very good but quite a few are no where near perfect. The On Her Majesty's Secret Service pre-titles is a big offener, for example.

I actually haven't opened too many of my blu-rays yet; I tend to get a bunch of movies and save them, building up anticipation, but it's a bad idea if they don't work because I let them sit there for months and now I'm stuck with a broken product, especially if I got it online and don't feel like returning it.

I couldn't find anything on the OHMSS color difference, but I hear the score in it on blu-ray is quite subtle and quiet, as opposed to really kicking in during certain scenes.

Do you have any sites in particular that compare the SE's to the BD's? I couldn't find any...thx

Yes point is it's still the same package but without the second disc. They've never released any other version of QoS.

I don't buy DVD's anymore, solely a blu-ray guy. Even then, it doesn't have what I really want: deleted scenes and that alternate ending. We'll never get those, though. I'll just stick with my regular blu-ray I got it when it first came out on DVD/blu-ray. I don't even think the 50 Year Anniversary re-issue has anything special on it. A different cover, that's about it, but that doesn't justify a purchase at all. I saw a special SF Warner Bros. special blu-ray that came with a different case that had all of the character posters lining the inside case, but again, doesn't warrant another purchase.

Don't you just love that? The people selling the movies could at least be greedy money grubbers in a more subtle manner, instead of peeing in our mouths and telling us it's raining.

This is the reason I couldn't care less about 'Special Features'. When I was younger I enjoyed how informative they tended to be, it felt like a real bonus. Nowadays you can catch it all online and most of it tends to be interminably slight. The only Director who goes the extra mile is Jackson. All I care about these days is getting the movie I want, in the best quality possible.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 and @RC7, well stated. That's how I am, though, I don't care about special features really, unless it's commentary for a film I really, really love, or deleted scenes/alternate endings. I just don't like the little work around they try to get you to purchase it here, or even purchase two copies. It's all online now. Special features on most films these days are lacking, anyway.

It's a shame too, because I grew up constantly gorging on my favorite films, which were jam packed with special features. I remember watching Spiderman 2 to death, and that disc had over 10 hours of special features on it, which blew my young socks off. You could never imagine there being that level of content in the special features film releases these days, sadly. Hell, you can't even buy anything but Blu-ray anymore if you want extra features at all. If you buy DVDs the most you'll get in the way of "special features" (using the term loosely) are some useless trailers you could catch on YouTube and if you're lucky, one commentary track. It's ridiculous.

Even cosmetic things like the little papers you used to get in DVD's with the scene selection titles were excellent, I loved those things. Or video games, you always seemed to get thick manuals that were great to read on the car ride home. Now? Nothing. I feel like you get the bare minimum anymore for a higher price.

I have ripped my Blu-rays to my computer, so can compare any given shot to a SE one, online. There are no direct SE/BD comparisons out there as far as I'm aware of. Sorry.

Blu-ray caps probably do exist online by themselves. You could compare them with the SE versions, if you can find the same ones.
