First off: a great PTS. Though I didn't care much for TWINE, it had my favorite PTS before Blood Stone. I wouldn't mind another PTS with a boat (like in TWINE).
The villain needs to be as much of a bad ass as Stephen Saunders from season 3 of 24, a guy who doesn't care about the means, just the ends (the man was willing to kill tens of millions of innocents just to prove a point).
At some point we need a great car chase through a beautiful landscape, possibly with Bond leaning out of the car and shooting somebody (I have this visual of a bunch of bad guys standing on some sort of stage or something all shooting at Bond's car, and he just points his gun out the window and shoots them all).
A very satisfying climax. Casino Royale had one (the Venice shootout), but Quantum of Solace did not, and then came the sort of "epilogue" scene where Bond was talking to those two people in Russia (nice throwback to "007 in New York", but it didn't work well at the end of a film where the audience wanted revenge for Vesper's murder, and we didn't get it).
A notable henchman (or woman), along the lines of Stamper (TND) or Milton Krest (LTK, and yes, I consider him more a henchman than a villain) for Craig's realistic take, but a Nick Nac wouldn't hurt much (for some reason, the idea of seeing Craig fight a midget doesn't seem as stupid as it should).
A realistic and interesting gadget (hey, Q's back, after all). Or two. Or three. No more than three.
A Bond girl who's smart and nice to look at (kind of like Vesper, who wasn't stupid and was beautiful; but not like Camille, who was nice to look at but kind of stupid; and definitely not like Fields).
Finally: more of that Bond/M love/hate relationship we've come to get from Craig's Bond and Dench's M (and I honestly think this might be her last film, if the plot is so M-centric, and involves her past being brought back to haunt her, I could believe she would resign as head of MI6).
That might be a lot to ask for, but after Casino Royale, I think they can do it.
But i wouldn't want her to go away :(
Oh, and a fantastic overall film! :D
- Great use of real locations and exterior shots and less dubbling.
- a good story
- Bond in a tux
Sequenced free flowing action sequences i.e. Casino Royale - not Quantum of Solace.
A GOOD DANIEL CRAIG TRADITIONAL GUNBARREL - AT BEGINNING
No ludicrious gadgets - Invisible car anyone ?
Good Title Theme and Artist - No Madonna, Jack White or Alicia Keys
No David Arnold composing
YOU KNOW WHAT - JUST USE CASINO ROYALE AS THE TEMPLATE WITH ALL ASPECTS OF FILMING AND PRODUCTION
Why not? David is the greatest Bond composer ever.
Have you not heard of John Barry??!!! I'm sorry, I like David Arnold but he is not a better composer than John Barry.
My friend, I have some advice ... ... listen to OHMSS soundtrack by John Barry and then LALD soundtrack by George Martin; once you've done this - you may reconsider.
Arnold is a hack.
Whoa! Somebody doesn't like good music. I prefer the TND-QoS soundtracks by far. Even TWINE had a good soundtrack, and I hate that movie.
Hacked us to death with tat the twat.
One of our greatest comedians explains DA's musical philosophy go to 2mins 40secs:
-Volka Martini Shaken not stirred
-Suit whenever possible
-Walther PKK
-sex scene
-car chase/boat chase
-a 2 hr and more longer film
No one will probably ever top Barry pre 80's, but arguing that the LALD soundtrack is better than most of Arnolds work, is IMO like arguing that Roger Moore was the best Bond ever!
Guess it's a matter of personal taste!
I'm assuming the "Playing all the right parts, but not in the right order" line, right? Right.
A gunbarrel at the beginning, a title sequence in the middle, and james bond will return at the end
Shaken not stirred (I dont think craig has said that once yet) and the bond, james bond lines need to be used
A bad ass shootout between the MI6 agents and the terrorists during the attack scene
A car chase
Moneypenny
Gadgets, but not over the top
Normal editing, none of this shakey cam stuff
Craigs bond to act a bit more like classic bond
Background appearences from sean connery, george lasenby, roger moore, timothy dalton and pierce brosnan
Blofeld
No quantum at all
The new Q to actually be a decoy by M to test if 007 knew the man was a dangerous terrorist who MI6 recently captured. Bond instantly realises and shoots the terrorist, then john cleese Q comes out and reveals himself as the real Q
An awesome fight scene
Only do another free running chase if its been shaken up a bit
A stunt with parachutes
A stunt with a motorbike
No.
Classic intro gunbarrel leading into the PTS
PTS as action-packed as TWINE, or as epically stylish as GF
Title sequence song with spine-tingling soul
Craig to say Bond, James Bond/Shaken, not stirred
Convoy car chase on the streets of London
McCrory as Moneypenny
Maximum of three gadgets (no more)- one including Omega Titanium Planet Ocean watch (no laser, please- there's more to gadgets than freaking lasers!)
Craig in a small scene wearing a white tux a la GF
Prolonged fight scene in a confined space a la FRWL train scene with gritty camera style a la CR PTS with minimum cutting and intense music
Aston cameo (DB5 preferably)
2+ hour duration
Great balance between action, drama and humor.
