No, I think any past Bonds should be omitted from this upcoming release, unless of course there's some kind of homage and we see the previous five in some sort of get together for nostalgia purposes and even then that idea seems doomed to failure

What if the title sequence was a series of Craig recreating moments from past Bond films? Or maybe in special features? So Craig on the beach with honey rider, on the train with red grant, on the laser table, in Scaramanga's fun house, etc etc

What about a OHMSS like title sequence where we can see scenes of the previous films? I think would be a great homage, and the only homage that should be done

Simply because it had nothing to do with the rest of the plot: the PTS from Blood Stone. It was a great mission, and it would be a lot like the PTS to Goldfinger: An action sequence with no relation to the rest of the film.

In an ideal world, and It won't be done of course, but leave all the previous actors out of it and concentrate solely on Craig, but add a little bit from every film since Dr No into the mix and see what we get, I was initially against any such references before from previous outings but I'll say right now before I maybe change my mind that I was thinking just now, why not?

For example, early in Skyfall, Craig gets a shock from a tarantula, has a bit of a fight on a train, then there's a laser scene, Bond girl in the bath (here's your shoes), has a bit of fighting training, a scene on a beach where he rescues a woman, rides on an elevator, gets involved in a bit of Voodoo nonsense, a car somersault over a bridge (no asinine sound effects please), rides across the waves on a Jet Ski, has a ride on a G Force simulator, climbs a cliff face, chased by knife throwers through a forest, a steeplechase race, a man with exploding milk bottles, sets fire to someone, ejector seat out of a helicopter, an underground garage bit, hangs on to a hot air balloon, rides on a hovercraft, another action scene at an airport, and finally another sky dive

Doesn't have to be all in that order, but for the 50th anniversary and homage to past adventures I did give it some thought, will probably abandon the idea in about 10 minutes but I said it anyway [-(

Craig should raise his eyebrow at least once.

And there better be decent gadgets (that means stuff like the laser watch, not hacker phone)

I wish there was some way they could salute the previous actors who played Bond, "M", Moneypenny, "Q" and the Ministers of Defense by panning photographs of them on a wall. That might be difficult to do. But it would add a touch of class.
  • all i want is the return of comedy relief scenes as seen in the past bond actors like connery, moore and the rest. craig is too physical... hey daniel, a message for you; pls smile for once, ok?

The OHMSS like pre-title sequence showing past Bond movies would be great to see but it wouldn't work because Craig's Bond, technically, is a prequel Bond, showing how Bond got started. So all the Bond films from Dr. No to DAD never really happen. So you can't pay homage to past Bond missions that Bond didn't go on yet. Same thing with past M's and Moneypenny's. But, in TWINE there is a tribute to Bernard Lee with a picture of him hanging on the wall of the Scotland MI6 headquarters behind M's desk. Also, DAD had alot of homage to past Bond films for the 40th anniversary and we know how that film turned out (worst Bond film of all-time). Skyfall doesn't need homage for the 50th anniversary, just a good balance of drama, action, and some humor, along with great acting and a memorable film we can be proud of.

a film as good as Casino Royale I have been following Bond since 1962 and looked forward to the release of every new film.As was written before i want to see at the end James Bond will return .I personally think Daniel Craig is the best of the Bonds and Casino Royale the best of the Bond films Quantum bit of a let down.Looking forward to the release of Skyfall and plenty of action fast cars and beautiful girls and locations.

I'd like to see Maurice Binder's iconic opening gun barrel sequence brought back to the beginning of the opening title sequence....It set the adrenaline right away. Placing it @ the end of the closing title sequence fails miserably to do this----omitting it as well doesn't help!

Gadgets in a 21th century Bond movie, please, no more. Only if those are in the cars.

    Here's the checklist:
    -At least 2 hours run-time
-Classic villains, with special gimmicks, weapons, features, etc.
-A good balance between action, plot, characters, and the classic Bond elements such as Moneypenny chats, gadget time with Q, briefing with M, etc.
-A great title song, and, please, not by Adele!!!
-Classic gadgets that can be used more than once in the movie, preferrably used to save Bond's life at least once
-Plenty of exotic locations, and balanced time spent in all, like QoS
-A main henchman that follows Bond throughout the movie, and preferrably comes back after the main villain has already died to give Bond one last run-around!

Well as now we already have so many news - I mean, spoilers - from the movie, say what you expect from them.

Will I??? I was kidding about Craigd eyebrow, but there will be gadgets, so I don't see why we couldn't have something like the laser watch.

Anyway, I'd like to see the wierd, no faced cartoon Bond from the last 2 title sequences return, but this time it's showing him do stuff Bond did in past films, in the title sequence. So, showing him fighting Oddjob, driving the Lotus, etc.

I was watching inception last night and there's a particular scene at the beginning where, Cobb is sneaking around Osato's mansion and is quietly dispatching Osato's security with his silenced gun and then quickly running up behind each one to muffle their cries and the sound of their falls. I'd love to see a stealth scene like that in SF.

This is probably not going to happen, but I think it would be a great retro touch.

I want the James Bond Theme to play in a non-action scenes - when Bond is arriving at the airport, walking into a hotel, driving a car, etc.

    Something like this:

I thought it was a missed opportunity to do something like this during the airport scene in Quantum Of Solace. I'd like it back too, maybe this time?...

They did this in Casino Royale when Bond flew into Nassau, and when he was walking into the Casino to start the game. They try to find places in the film to put the tune when they can. In QOS, there weren’t many places to put the tune in because the film is often too serious to have such a fun tune butting in. That being said, it did make it in there when he was going to meet Mathis at his home, and when he was escaping M’s capture in the hotel elevator. You are both right though, it should show more prominently in Skyfall. Usually when a new composer gets their hands on a Bond movie they go a bit overboard with the Bond theme, which is a good thing. When David Arnold started out with TND, the Bond theme was playing practically the whole time. Granted I love what David did in all his films, but Thomas Newman is an even more accomplished composer, and his first go at scoring a Bond film will probably yield a very good soundtrack, and one which will most likely future the Bond tune quite prominently.

    - 2 hour + running time
    - Gunbarrel opening
    - Oriental style Bond title song - to coincide with the Shanghai/Macao part of the story, with Chinese dancing girls.....the oriental feel of YOLT..
    - Exotic Locations
    - A bad Bond girl (Fiona Volpe) type..
    - A good girl who we are not sure of until 30 minutes from the end
    - Plenty of mystery
    - Memorable in your face villain and hench woman
    - Big finale at the villains lair..

    Bond's lair!

Great PTS, good story that makes sense (QoS not!) and Bond in a hat! And great action that we can actually follow i.e. not too much shaky camera work/fast MTV editing.

You're right, but those were just the cues of Bond Theme incorporated into a similar, but different tune (Blunt Instrument on CR soundtrack).

John Barry often used to do this - Goldfinger, Thunderball...

I was thinking about the original Bond Theme (Dr. No), or perhaps just slightly changed (FRWL).

It's not that important for the film really, it would just add more Bond vibe to it, IMO.

They NEED TO USE the Original Bond Theme from Dr No. NO WAY it should miss at the 50th Anniversary.

I want to see no silly gadgets, but a personal advanced signature iPhone or android from Q wouldn't be bad to see.

I want to see realistic action, not over the top action. I want to see bond working out for a change, perhaps lifting weights.

I want to see bond grab a enemy from behind and interrogate them viciously, then after the information is received Bond proceeds on by violently pistol whipping the enemy on the head.

I want to see Bond smack Naomi Harris on the tush and say man-talk for old times sake.

I want thievery corporation to perform the title song.

I want to see bond walk through a London ghetto and see the homeless, the deterioration of his city and wonder what good has any of his past missions have done.

I want to see a scene where bond smokes a cigarette, then says half way through, no wonder I stopped years ago. these are disgusting.

I want Skyfall to have the standard opening Bond gun barrel, the witty Bond one-liners and a 2hrs and above duration.... QoS was way too short...!!!
