You're right. For all its minimalism, there probably was some amount of thought that went into the design.
Why so long?!
One am I the only one who feels this is smoke and mirrors and James Bond will be in the books likely briefly (though maybe 50%)
And also
James Bond is missing…
007 has been captured, perhaps even killed, by a sinister private military company. His whereabouts unknown
That is the book I want to read how did he get captured what is the sinister private militaries plans why do they want 007 how will he escape
Just me
Sigh
I do wonder though as the above sounds like it could be it’s own book maybe 007’s story is told in tandem with the other 00 stories
In a world where Waltz is definitely not playing blofeld this screams of bait and switch
You’re welcome! You can tell she is really using social media, better than other Bond promotions have been lately.
I still think we’ll have some character surprise appearances coming up!
More exciting news and meetings! I wish that some of the other James Bond alumni authors could be there to talk as well.
Sadly, most of the original continuation authors of what I call the classic era that I'd be most interested in hearing from are no longer with us, with the exception of Raymond Benson. That said, I agree that it would be nice to see some more post-2008 Bond continuation authors coming together to discuss all things Bond. I'd especially like to hear from William Boyd, of those not participating in this event.
Well that's practically next door to me - rude not to!
I see Jeffery Deaver is also on a panel, for signature seekers.
Where do you see Jeffery Deaver on the panel with them? I always felt he deserved to write a sequel to CB.
Unique choice and viewpoints.
Not with the other Bond authors, but he's on 'Crime across the continents' on Friday:

For America audiences anyway.
A nice twist.
I love her enthusiasm, happy to have her be a part of the James Bond family.
And it also doesn't step into the Fleming/Gardner/Benson pseudo-timeline.
I'm sure he'll be mentioned in passing at least.
This may be what you are looking for with Kim Sherwood’s writing influences.
009. Still have my fingers crossed for 006 being Alec Trevelyan.
I can't see them so overtly mixing literary Bond and film Bond together like that, plus isn't he dead anyway? There was a 006 mentioned in Fleming's OHMSS novel however so that could be ripe for further development.
'Bond was his mentor' sounds a bit odd to me; that doesn't really sound like a way Bond would act at all.
