Ghost Protocol was the best one out of the four, but the series has done all it can. If they make a fifth one it'll just turn out to be another MI-2.
They said that about James Bond too in the 1960's. Really, if there's enough time to preproduce a good story, then I welcome a 'M:I 5'. Most likely the future MI-films will have their own titles as well. And Paramount is crazy if they do not turn the MI-series in their own James Bond franchise.
Also, 'M:I 5' will come out the same year as 'Bond 24'. So a USA release in October or December would mean real stiff competition for Mr. Bond ;-). Some facts: After James Bond, Mission Impossible is indeed the most stable spy franchise around. Yes, 'Skyfall' banked in a flabbergasting $1,108,561,013, but the $694,713,380 for 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' was very fruitful too :-)!
I am heavily investing in this one as well.
Actually, the whole scene with Ethan Hunt in a tuxedo using earphones with Jane Carter....reminded me a lot of.....INDEED, the casino scene in 'Skyfall' ;-).
It is on the edge of Michael Giacchino mabey don't have time for doing the score of Mi5 who do you think should score Mi5 or who do you think make the biggest change ?
James Newton Howard, composer of The Tourist, Salt and Bourne 4. Christopher McQuarrie is one of the writers of The Tourist. I don't know yet or his music is good, but mabey Christopher McQuarrie whant Joe Kraemer who work on Jack Reacher.
James D. Bissell wil possible return as production designer, working on Mi4 and Jack Reacher.
Anna Pinnock set designer wil possible return for Bond 24 after her work on QOS and Skyfall, mabey there wil ask her also for Mi5 as she work on Tourist too.

Kevin Stitt, editor of Jack Reacher. He also work on The Kingdom, Elektra and X-men.
Possible Paramount/Tom Cruise wil go for Paul Jennings returns for Mi5 as second united directer/stuns. Who work earlier as second united directer on Jack Reacher, Sherlock Holmes 1&2 but for the stunts on the first Mission Impossible, The Saint and Johny English movie, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough. Keep in mind with Mi4 there asking the editor of the first movie to return and if there is one thing what need a litle inprovement on both Mi3 and Mi4 then it be stunt work.

Mission: Impossible 5 is currently without a release date, although 2015 would seem a good bet, seeing as every other franchise is set to drop a new instalment then.

Roger Barton as editor. He work on Marc Forster World War Z, The Grey and Gi Joe 2, other movie he be editor are Pearl Harbor, Bad Boys 2, Star Wars: Episode III, Transformers 2&3, Gone in 60 Seconds, Eragon, Speed Racer and The A-team.. He also work on Titanic, Armageddon and The Island.
My first idea be that there whant make again more a movie in the style of Mission Impossible 2, more action and more sun and a bit darker.
Mark Bakshi be executive producer (Rango, Moneyball)
Chris Brock who work on James Bond since Die Another Day wil be the production manager together with Thomas Hayslip who work on Bad Company, the first 3 POTC movies, Christopher Nolan Batman movies and Fast Five.
Skye Stolnitz wil be the production supervisor. He work on World War Z, Moneyball and as production assistant on Get Smart.
London locations... I dunno how I feel about this after Skyfall
I still look forward to this film, mind. The last one was great.
Shh, don't give them ideas. I'm looking forward to this, as well. I don't really care where they go, because after the last one, I'm really excited for the fifth film.
'Ultimatum' had a major sequence in London.
I want Hunt (like Bond and Cross I guess) to explore the world rather then retread the same old ground.
Although technically, M:I climaxes inside the Channel Tunnel and not London.
Oh, for Fleming's sake, not this again. Last time I checked, Bond doesn't own London, and just because Skyfall took place partly in London doesn't mean no other films can touch it with a ten foot pole. This same type of uproar got brushed about when Taken 2 went to Istanbul, and before that people who find it a hobby to compare Bourne and Bond spouted off for years about how each other can't go to the same locations. Give me a break...
It's the same case as 'Taken 2' and SF, in that we saw the motorcycle chase atop the bazaar in the SF trailers, and some were outraged because there was already a foot chase in Turkey atop the bazaar and rooftops.
I want variety in my spy films so sue me
This is a little different though as Taken 2 was shot the same time Skyfall was, these other productions are afterwards. I suppose it is nice though to see Bond is perhaps setting a trend for others to follow again, even if it feels like they want to ride of the coattails of a smash hit.
Well for starters, it is first and foremost a gorgeous location with great thematic quality and wonderful beauty. It is the home to major centers of government and intelligence agencies, a great spot to set part of a spy film. It's architecture is brilliant and varied, some structures more modern in appearance, while others harken back to Greek construction centuries back. It has a deep and fascinating history behind it, from its darkest days of colonialism to the Victorian period, the Battle of Britain where Churchill and his people showed the Germans they wouldn't be beaten down, to the very heart of the tumultuous Cold War and its current fight in tandem with the rest of the world at large against terrorism. To put it simply, it's a brilliant place to shoot a film in every conceivable way beyond the simple fact that Bond shoots there. To frame your argument in such a fashion that seems to argue that these films are only shooting in London to follow Bond's cinematic lead is a disservice to the location itself.
Indeed and it was a brillaint one as well imho, glad you noticed that scene too. FYI it was way before SF.
I wouldn't say Samuel's comment is utterly without merit. London is a notoriously difficult location to lens. Living here and watching drama upon drama centred on London goes some way to justifying that in my mind. I think even Mendes, or possibly Craig said something to the effect of 'the real issue is making London look and feel as great as it is'. They achieved it in SF and so I wouldn't be at all surprised if it went some way to reinvigorating others' interest in the city as a location.
