    Of course, but I'm sure you like many others would actually like to see a sixth MI film while I would rather have it end at the right time and not drag out. That's what I'm worried about the most, at least.
    I think Tom would be to old, when M:I 5 comes out he'll be 53, and if they did make a supposed M:I 6, there would be a minimum of four years in between them, making him 57.

    True, but compare Tom at 53 to Roger and Sean. I think he can still pull off a couple of more MI films.

    IF we have MI reboot soon (I think if this happens they'll go down the Bond route just changing Ethan without explaining which would be perfectly fine for me) who do you see replacing Tom ?

    If they went that route (a new series of MI films) I'd rather have Ethan training an agent or group of agents in the next films who basically become the stars of the new films. Ethan deserves a great send-off, and I can only hope that they give him that, retiring to be with Julia instead of being rebooted out of nowhere. I just can't imagine anyone else playing Ethan but Tom. He's been playing the character for coming up on 20 years now, so I'd rather see him retired properly instead of revamped into a new series. I think the show can stay afloat if they get a great lead to continue on with the series after he's gone, or they can just let the films end (yeah right, huh? $$$). I seem to keep forgetting that I think like a human being and not a money-machine. My apologies.

    I'd like a great send off for Ethan. Perhaps they could kill him off like they did with Phelps in the first reboot film. Just don't make him the bad guy. That renders the last 4 movies irrelevant. But on the other hand, that "they'll think we'd never make him the bad guy so let's make him the bad guy" approach is what made the twist in the first one so good.

    I don't think they'd ever do that. It would go against everything Ethan is just for pure shock value. And since Tom is so involved with the films that "twist" would never see the light of day, thankfully.

    I don't see why Tom's age should be a problem. In the TV series Jim Phelps was still team leader well into his 60's. Maybe Tom won't be as physically active but he can still pull off the role just fine. Ethan Hunt wasn't a literary character so they have no rules for him. Age shouldn't matter anyway. As long as Tom thinks he can play the role I say why not. It's good to have friendly rivalries. James Bond, Mission: Impossible, Bourne. Soon U.N.C.L.E will make it's Big screen debut. I love spy movies. I say keep pumping them out. Espionage is becoming cool once again.

    What made Mission: Impossible (the TV series.) so interesting was that the IMF agents were usually normal people who had pre-existing careers outside of the IMF. Such as Locksmiths, Models, Magicians, Electronic engineers, doctors and actors. Most weren't trained Government agents. That's what made it cool.

    Of course these movies are produced to make money but feel that Cruise works hard, behind and in front of the camera, to make quality films.

    Exactly. That's one of the main reasons I respect Tom so much. He works his butt off in-front of and behind the camera, giving great performances and doing mesmerizing stunts that would make younger men pause with fright.

    I don't see why they can't do a sixth. And when Cruise gets too old, just give his character an ending and bring a new one in, it's always team focused anyway.

    Actually MI6 deal with international stuff, they go abroad, it's MI5 that work in the UK. So them filming MI:5 in London actually makes more sense than waiting for the sixth one ;)

    You are correct, but Ethan isn't a British agent so the rules don't apply to him. That being said, an adventure set in London could happen in either 5 or 6.

    It seems they were trying to bring in someone "new" in the form of Jeremy Renner in case Cruise tired of the role or got too old and they wanted someone young and fresh.

    I think Chastain would be incredible in it, but what about Paula Patton's character? I can only assume Chastain will be a field agent (unless she's the new boss, like every M:I film seems to have), and if that's the case, I don't want them adding in too many like-minded characters, i.e. Benji and Luther. Don't get me wrong, those latter two guys are incredible, I just don't want two sexy-and-deadly female agents and two funny-yet-active tech agents.

    I have read a rumor that only Cruise and Pegg will return from the last movie after all and not the whole team. It's just a rumor though...

    I read a couple of minutes a go that the 4th season of Nikita after 6 episodes be canceld. So i say ask Maggie Q back and let her play the villian as promised in Mi3.

    Great news! I really like what they did with Brandt so I very much look forward to his return. All we need now is a confirmation that Ving will get big screen time in #5 and I will be completely satisfied.

    If Ving is confirmed for a major role like he's had in the past, then my excitement will have skyrocketed before we've even heard word on a plot, subtitle, etc.

    That's very welcome news. I like the Brandt character he's a good addition to the MI crew.
    Hoping to see the return of Simon Pegg as well.
