Aaaaand..you know that I'm back on this forum to write something in this thread :D
Ok..this "honest trailer" pumped me up for Rogue Nation even though it's supposed to be funny..
I am seeing this movie Thursday and I can't wait !
Should I write a small non-spoiler review after I see it ?
And James Bond?
92%: "Skyfall"
95%: "Casino Royale"
91% before premiere ? That's not good.
I mean...I sure as hell don't care for reviews but still.
91% is pretty damn good, the last time I checked.
'Pixels' was at a 0% before it was released. That's not good.
The first 75 reviews the scores can fluctuate a lot. Be prepared for that. Especially when the first negative review comes in after some 15 reviews. You really need to have more than 75 reviews to start drawing conclusions.
And for the record..I personally really enjoyed Pixels :/
Idk, I never really cared for reviews.
I use IMDb mostly for ratings and I expect Rogue Nation to be around 8.something day after release.
If it falls to 7.(below 4) after day1 I guess it's not a movie that everyone will enjoy.
But anyways..I am sure I'll love Rogue Nation regardless of what other people think.
The question is will I enjoy this movie more than Ghost Protocol or not. If for some reason I love this as much as Ghost Protocol..wow, that means the movie is pretty damn good.

Fine by me! 24 hours until I'm in town to see 'Rogue Nation,' I'm beyond excited.
#RogueNation not only rips-off the SKYFALL villain but some scenes as well. :(
And in turn, some could arguably say the SF villain ripped off the Joker, and that the finale ripped off 'Home Alone.'
We've gotten to a point in cinema where it's obvious that films will borrow from other films, and you're going to be truly hard pressed to find scenes in movies that don't ape scenes from others.
That is exactly what I read months ago when they very suddenly moved MI5 in front of SP at great stress. They did not move it to avoid SWs as they knew for nearly 2 years they would be competing with SWs. They moved it to avoid looking like they were directly copying major elements of SP. Now SP will look redundant instead. They had the full script for SP while in early production and they stopped production to rewrite the ending also at huge expense, which is said to still be weak (shades of SP).
If MI5's US opening is weak which is what unreliable tracking is reporting, it may not matter much, but if it is a huge hit, it could hurt SP. It will definitely appear to do well overseas as it is opening WW this weekend, to give the press a big opening week figure. Cruise has been dialing down the MI ensemble tradition and turning the MI series into his own 007 franchise. It is way more obvious than having another film (like Bourne and Bond) influence your tone, it is directly and indirectly copying everything you can from another franchise.
Nah, I don't see it as a bad thing. I just said that I expected a little bit more :)
For example I am writing this bold prediction 2 years in advance that the newest Pirates of the caribbean will have shitty RT rating.
So...if for some reason I'm wrong and it has 80% I'll be positely surprised even tho it doesn't mean anythng :D
My comment refered to the guy that posted SkyFall/Casino Royale/Ghost Protocol having better numbers than Rogue Nation :) Same!
I wonder when he'll start shooting Reacher.
edit: Tom Cruise is amazing.
The tweet said Skyfall, not Spectre.
Better start brushing up on how to hold your breath for a long time, too, as he held his breath for six minutes during that diving sequence in the film. Best of luck!
It most certainly isn't. Read about it a while back and he confirmed it on Jimmy Kimmel's show, stating that he went through training to hold his breath as long as possible, and then past that point, since shooting would require him to swim to the bottom, start shooting, and swim to the top (or wherever he was located). It's insane, and he ends the interview by saying that he does all the crazy stunts that he does just for his fans, because he knows he loves seeing them, and Simon Pegg added how brilliant it is in this day and age where everything has a coat of CG on top of it.
Like I've always said, I love Cruise, but if you love him or hate him, you cannot deny that he is one impressive action star. It's not often you see an A-lister willing to scale the world's tallest building or have himself strapped outside a massive airplane for EIGHT separate takes, solely for his fans.
but I'm not Cruise.
Tom Cruise has the secret key to all of life's craziest stunts. Also, he wrote the book on how to stop aging entirely, apparently.
