Neither are favorites by any stretch of the imagination. But Octopussy wins, because, although it is embarrassing to watch sometimes, it doesn't send me to sleep when I watch it - Goldfinger is a narcoleptics dream I-)
    That was really funny, dude!
  • Wasn't any humor intended, merely a true observation of whenever I view it

I saw some of Octopussy recently, and it's actually a decent watch for the most part, and far more exciting than Connery's poor third appearance

Maud Adams makes for a better Bond 'girl' than Blackman, Louis Jourdan is actually more impressive than the bumbling Frobe, and while neither will win the honor of 'greatest James Bond release ever', Moore's 1983 adventure is a clear winner here

As Samuel says in the above though, there's too many of these duplicate threads and should be continued in the correct area/s of discussion

GF is a decent film and contains a few iconic scenes that are easy for critics to remember and declare as the best Bond ever but in reality OP is a far better film, it's just more exciting in every way.

    Octopussy

though Goldfiger is good and momorab;e..but Roger gave his best almost Swansong performance and the
chemestary between him and Maud adams made them probarly one of the best Bond "Couples" plus who could not love the cold war and Indiana Jones feel

I heartedly disagree with those who prefer Octopussy. It is a very boring movie. Louis Jourdan chews the screen up with his long, long, long delayed speech patterns. Maud Adams can't hold a candle to Honor Blackman, anyone can clearly see that in a turtleneck sweater. And then there's Roger. He is disinterested and continues to have that smirky, comedic look. And he is old. The fight scenes are so boringly staged to allow the elderly Roger to shuffle from his walker to his spot. And having a semi famous tennis pro make an appearance was terrible. This is one of the weakest Bond movies ever.
  • OP if you're looking for a guilty pleasure.

GF - all pleasure, there's no guilt.

I could imagine a series without OP, I can't without GF.

Other than that, it's down to taste at the time really. Sometimes you just want a hamburger.
