A flag draped coffin.
M, Moneypenny, Q, Tanner, and all the rest look on somberly.
We see the feet of someone new joining the group.
He is late.
M frowns disapprovingly.
M-"007, you're late. What's your excuse this time? Traffic?"
We get our first glimpse of the new Bond.
Bond - "Yes. Sorry, sir. Incoming was a killer."
M shakes his head. "If I didn't know better, you'd be late for your own funeral."
Bond stares at the flag draped coffin.
Close up on Bond's face as he looks directly into the camera.
Bond winks.
Bond theme plays.
After the Strangways killing in DN, our first glimpse of Bond is in a casino. I agree. Starting in with a casino scene would not only recall the DN sequence, but also has lots of possibilities to go off of.
That could be a great opener to a Bond film. After the gun barrel opening, (reinstated I hope), the film could open on a spinning roulette wheel, moving out to show an unseen man in tuxedo approach a gambling table...
As with any new Bond we have to get at least some build up to there first shot.
OHMSS2? What's that?
We hear Madeleine's voice: "I am going to tell you a story about a man. His name was Bond, James Bond."
James Bond theme, dots coming from the left, Gunbarrel.
At the end of the Gunbarrel, the red dot turns into white again, then transforms into a golf ball.
From the golf ball, camera zooms out, low-angle shot of JAMES BOND focusing on the golf course, wearing a white polo short and linen trousers. He hits the ball, 2-3 players friends around him start cheering.
Next scene, golf match has ended, James Bond has won and is on his way to the golf club with the other players which turn out to be some good friends of his, now also wearing a panama hat. Having arrived at the club, they open a bottle of Pol Roger, engaging in a discussion about champagne. Alas, a loud beeping signal (nowadays, of course via his brand new smartphone) reminds Bond that he is on-call and has to get to HQ immediately. We see him leaving in his Aston Martin, the scene widening to the landscapes of Kent.
On his way to London, we see a car chase.
Next scene:
Door to the antechamber of M's office opens, we see the panama hat flying to the coat-stand and, of course, landing there. James Bond enters and asks:
"How is the new job, Loelia?"
"Well, I think MI6 is happy to have some fresh blood from time to time."
"Indeed."
Smiling, Bond opens the door to M's office, the door opening the scene to the main titles.
I'm sure it's going to be a clear reboot, so I don't think they would show Madeleine or Mathilde again.
Like another prequel again?
He's technically diving in Goldfinger's opening but not for long. I like the idea.
There would be no direct reference of the previous film, yet there's a hint that it could also be connected to the previous film.
Look at the DAF PTS, it starts in Japan, so people could safely assume it's set after the events of YOLT, and there are no references of OHMSS.
But Bond was hunting Blofeld and eager for it, so people at somehow could also connect it to the events of OHMSS, it could be played as a mini revenge sequel.
So I think with how NTTD ended, that's the PTS I think the Producers would certainly go into.
No references since it's a reboot for a new era (leaving the Craig Era isolated), but at some point, there's a hint that would be left to the audience's imagination that somehow, could be connected to the events of NTTD, although not direct.
It got the best of both worlds.
This is astute, and shows how DAF could have been constructed for people who didn't see OHMSS.
Or, is Bond in the pts of DAF searching the globe for Blofeld, because of the events of OHMSS?
It's really quite clever in that respect.
It would be a lot more clever if they're going down that route, that style, after the events of NTTD.
BTW this combo, quad + bike + old streets with stairs is pretty good ; bike had never been overuse in movies chases history and could be original (but I guess it's too similiar to Matera motorbike in NTTD) :

-Gunbarrel, then right after it, the camera moves to Bond, in a smoking, holding his ppk. Movie starts right after the gunbarrel sequence.
-Travelling to the unfortunate sniper, lying in the ground, maybe in the woodlands somewhere. There's fireworks. A new year is being celebrated in a Manor or a castle somewhere in Europe, maybe Austria. New year, new Bond, his entrance might be too on the nose, but hey. Bond is there officially as a guest, but he needs to retrieve a MacGuffin of some sort.
-Gets in the castle, finds the MacGuffin, some docs or other, Gets interrupted by some villain, big guy, looking nasty and imposing. "What happened to the guard?" "Sudden and nasty headache." Fight ensues. Bond kills him, retrieves the MacGuffin, leaves manor, calls MI6: "007 here, I'm back."
Needs work and maybe too close to Trigger Mortis, but something like that would do nicely.
Let's speculate anyway.
For the next actor, I think having no comparisons to the Craig films will only help them, and their films.
I suspect there will be some degrees of callbacks. Maybe even allusions to Vesper. I'm only speculating mind you, but I think there will be some.
I hope our next Bond is a mission oriented Bond who isn't dragged down by personal demons and cynicism. While we may be getting further away from Fleming's Bond, the series does need to be refreshed. My preference is more in the style of Connery and his films but updated.
While Judi Dench did transition well between two Bonds and two Bond timelines, I hope the producers don't choose to repeat that by bringing back Craig players.
Yeah, you even had Lindy Hemming and Brioni suits hanging over into CR before they found their own path a little more. Plus David Arnold etc. I wouldn't be too surprised if some personnel carried over into the next and that gave it a flavour of Craig's time to start with.
