I think of Sean Connery. He is James Bond and the actors following based their 007 on him (except Dalton and Craig, whi based it off Ian Fleming's version)

Most of the time George Lazenby, but sometimes it's Dalton or Connery...

I also kind of like Fleming's concept drawing

    It depends 4 me

    An aston martin DB5
    A Gun Barrel
    The 007 Logo
  • occasionally I think of me because of all the time I've spent aiming my toy Walther PPK at the mirror and mouthing those immortal words with my eyebrow raised.
Don't know what you mean..... never done that myself..... nooooo....never....

For me I think of either Moore advancing on Stromberg in TSWLM, or of a tuxedo'd Brosnan (TND probably).

Horak's rendering of Bond stuck in my head for ages when I was working through the titans.....

Connery and Brosnan, followed by THAT killer guitar riff!
When reading Fleming, it`s definately Connery. He naturaly looks of the time Fleming wrote the character...almost.

I think of the literary Bond, the pic on the wikipedia entry. I guess it is the same as the comic one on the first page here.

Definitelt Pierce Brosnan, without a doubt. The second place here would be Connery, although he isn't in my top three Bonds, I just naturally think of either him or Brosnan when I hear Bond.

When I hear "James Bond", I just see a sort of slideshow. Dalton walking into the casino, Brosnan cracking Gupta's safe, Daniel on the stairs of Mr White's, Roger running over the crocks, George sliding down the ice, Brosnan crashing through the wall in a tank, Sean using the ejector seat... All in a second or two.

I say it again. Pierce Brosnan in TND. Because that was the first contact with Bond.

Eternally Sean. He IS James Bond.

Hmm Sean and probably Pierce. I know a lot of people hate Pierce but I LOVE the way he moves sometimes. There've been plenty of times watching his films when I see him walk/get out a car/point a gun and I can say "that's James Bond".

Yeah! How smooth he moves around with one hand in the pocket. Damn that did make a huge impression when i was younger!

That man is amazing. Awesome video.

Strangely, I tend to picture the generi-Bond from Agent Under Fire.

  • When I hear the two words "James Bond", the picture that comes into my head is when Roger Moore meets Kamal Khan in the casino in Octopussy. Something about it is so iconic and memorable, summing up James Bond for me.

Indeed. Especially in Dr. No with Sylvia Trench.

It depends on how recently I've watched any Bond film, but it's usually either Connery or Brosnan. A lot of the time though, I find myself using the image posted above when I've not watched a film in a certain length of time.

Connery, Moore and Dalts. They're the actors who made Bond their own.

Craig has potential but I still don't feel he's nailed the role yet. I am hoping that with SF we get his fully formed Bond. Please Judi Dench, don't ruin it for him!

Spot on with everything you say.

Connery, Moore and Dalton each made it their own in very different ways.

Dench is the key to Craig, which is a sad reflection on the direction the producers have taken with the character

I have a Bond image in my head, when I read the novels, which, in many ways, is a composite of Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton. Mostly Sean though.

Interesting, I almost never picture Sean when reading the novels. Probably because the Bond of the novels is more introspective. Maybe a bit a Dalton, but mostly this picture:
