I don't care what people say: Lazenby had Bond written all over him.
I disagree. George Lazenby was the only Bond actor who I never thought was credible as Bond. He just exuded a sort of bland stupidity for me just by his looks. All the others were more appropriate. I'm glad that GL only made that one Bond movie, which turned out surprisingly good, but not because of but in spite of GL.

And yes, I know, I've said this before.

Back in the day he certainly was hard to get used to. However, for many of us, he and everything about the film has changed. For the better. Compared with Moore, GL was much more of a Connery type. I don't believe his looks were bland or stupid; his just wasn't the face we'd seen for five previous films. For me it was Moore who was never convincing. For whatever reason, Brosnan doesn't come to mind when I think of the Bond history, although I've seen all of his films.

GL will always be one of those "what if" stories.

Indeed, Lazenby was a decent one for me, at least he still acted very much like Bond (he's convincing as a spy, good in action and looked Bond), but Moore just wasn't Bond to me, he'd never convinced me that he can do Bond things other than to seduce women, that's all, and it's not what Bond is all just about, he needs to be more than that, and Moore just didn't, he's more of a superhero Bond for kids more than acting the character as originally described and written.

At least Lazenby was still in line with how the character was originally described and written, and like you've said @CrabKey it's more in line with Connery, still keeping in tone with the character, but Moore strayed far from it.

Agreed @CrabKey Moore is probably the least convincing actor to me as Bond, sorry (I know he has fans and I know he's fun, but it's not something that I associate with the Bond character).

Anyway, nice BTS pictures in here, although I've seen some of them many times.

However without Moore there would be no film series to this day. Moore was able to take a character that was deeply entrenched in the public's mind with one actor and make it his own and show the way for others.

Unlike Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones, this character has been allowed to go with other actors. I wonder if Bond series would have died if Lazenby had stayed on. He was merely a shell of Connery and not really his own portrayal of the character!

It's the same with Dalton really, does anyone else here would've wondered if the series would've died had he stayed on?

As much as we really liked Dalton this time, but back then, he's still wasn't that much accepted by the Public.

And Lazenby did showed a softer side of the character, something that wasn't seen before, whether we liked it or not, he's the first one to show the character's human side other than being a tough, killer macho that Connery did.

    Anyway:

You never hear much about the cars from this film: I'm not sure I knew they even used more than one Aston (I know of course it's usual to have multiples of the cars but as it's not really even used in action it wasn't certain). I wonder where they are both (were there more than two?) now.

Brilliant stuff. Don't think I'd ever seen a photo of Lazenby and Lumley together before - or if I had, I'd forgotten about it. Ere, I was in glamorous Doncaster last week, birthplace of Diana Rigg. I used to wonder how somewhere like Donny had produced someone like Diana - but then I found out that she'd only lived there til she was two months-old! Suddenly, it made sense... ;)

Trivia: Diana Rigg also lived once in India when she's young, hence, she knew how to speak Indian language.

To quote Tim Brayton in his review of OHMSS over at alternateending.com : Diana Rigg is the sexiest woman produced by the British Isles in the 20th Century.

She is, the Queen! I mean, the Sultry Queen!

I'm female, and I really agree, she also have a beautiful face, and not just that, she's also one of the Best Actresses of the 20th Century, still a question why she didn't won an Oscar for some of her performances?

Rigg's acting would even give Meryl Streep a run for her money!

She's also intelligent and ahead of her time, she's tough that she quitted Avengers because she's not paid high enough, Rigg felt like a woman living in present time, she's very modern!

One of my favorite Actresses of all time.

Diana Rigg was perfectly cast as Tracy Bond, she was beautiful and was sexy with class. A really underrated actor.
Also I'd love to see that deleted rooftop chase someday, I've always thought OHMSS missed a bit more action in the middle third of the film

@Benny , your collection is excellent! I found that most of your smaller images are actually online in larger versions (as info for collectors). Just drag them into a window with Google Lens open and ask it to search for the source, then click on it. Some websites have a smaller image in-text, but it is linked to the larger one.
