Pitch Your Bond Universe Show and Movie Ideas! Barbara and Michael need help.

Based on the wildly successful "Whatever Happened to..." where we take minor or major characters who survived the films conclusion and plotted out what happened to them, turns out Barbara and Michael are huge fans! They have asked me to create a thread where creative souls here at Mi6 can pitch their series ideas for characters in the "Bond Universe". Seems Jeff is asking for some content for Amazon Prime and while the movies are good they are limited.

So Mi6 what do you say? Are you up to pitch TV shows or movie ideas for EON to produce for Amazon? You can take this to a place of hilarity or play it straight. However you decide to go please do the following:

Give us an idea of the tone of the series, the major plot or character arc in the show. Tell us why people would watch. Given that we have seen "prequels" in the Star Wars and Marvel worlds, you are welcome to create series based on characters before they met our favourite Secret Agent.

Oh one last thing, Barbara and Michael will not accept a series or movie idea based on James Bond himself, he can play a supporting role, but shouldn't be the starring character. They are also open to different media, so if you think an animated series is the way to go by all means pitch it!

So who has a pitch for an Amazon Prime show or movie?

    “The 00’s”

A series of 8 high production episodes, each about a 00 agente (ep001; ep002;…) and his or her mission. Being that, in ep007, 009 is tracking our man Bond, trying to find him for whatever reason, and we don’t get to see him. In fact, a reocurring joke in each episode could be a mention of 007 being missing. This could very well lead to the presentation of the new Bond actor and main cannon film, whenever that is.

That’s it for now. Whatdoyathink? 😉

That's literally the plot of Kim Sherwood's Double Or Nothing!

    Anyway, here's mine:

    1. The Union, starring Draco, though in some of their adventures, they sometimes encounter Bond who's there to help them, this could be done in an Agents of Shield type of TV series or maybe closer to the Vendetta (1966) TV Series, with Draco in a Danny Scipio situation.

    2. Life after love, a series tackling the lives of the Bond Girls after meeting Bond.

    3. 007: The People Behind The Number, so not just Bond, but it tells the story of the past agents who handled the codename 007 long before Bond.

Istanbul, where Kerim Bey's sons have to pull off a complex Cold War mission to prove to MI6 that they are worthy to keep Station T "in the family" after their father's death.

Radiation Shield a dark workplace comedy in which naïve and idealistic Whyte Enterprises employee Dr. Klaus Hergersheimer slowly uncovers that instead of building a conventional communications satellite, the project he's working on will actually be used as a space laser weapon that could kill millions.

As always the community here doesn't fail to disappoint.

@Seano I love the concept of Radiation Shield. Dark comedy and a great build up. Love to see a series based on Klaus, could be fun.

@Univex Having not read the Stockwood series I thought you had some good thoughts there. Would only 009 be hunting for Bond? When double-0 nine episode comes will he wear clown makeup? Burning questions.

I'd call your series "Our Man Pinder" @George_Kaplan what tone would you give the series? What sort of adventures would happen in the Bahamas?

Seeing is Believing, a family drama where the lazy and unsuccessful son of a wealthy industrialist finds himself cut off from the family fortune after he returns from each of his vacations insisting his increasingly unbelievable stories about what he's seen are true (such as a gondola driving through the streets of Venice) instead of actually dealing with his drinking problem. Can he and his new pet pigeon get back in the good graces of the family? Season 2 features a similar tale from the perspective of Sherriff J.W. Pepper, whose wild stories about encounters with an "English secret agent from England" have an ambitious young deputy ready to challenge him in the next parish election.

Across the Michael Multiverse: James Bond's death in No Time to Die triggers a magic spell that sends Michael G. Wilson jumping into each of his cameo roles (sort of "Quantum Leap" style). Can he find his way back to the real world or is he destined to spend the rest of his days as a corrupt Montenegro police chief or reading a newspaper in a Haitian hotel lobby?

Frankly, I would liked to have a Felix Leiter spin off, maybe do a spin off film franchise or a series, that's okay.

    Cast:

    Cam Gigandet as Felix Leiter
Will Ferrel as Technologist from CIA (American Equivalent of Q)
Jamie Lee Curtis as Leiter's Boss
Laura Harrier as the Secretary (the American counterpart of Moneypenny)

    * The action scenes and stunts were similar to those of Mission Impossible films.
    * Globetrotting missions
    * References to Della as how Bond reference both Tracy and Vesper.
    * Bond will appear in some of his missions to help him.
    * A secret evil organization similar to SPECTRE (probably this is where I use SMERSH)
    * Gadgets from CIA

What do you think guys of my casting? Would it work? And can you of a title too? Thank you 😊

How about a Francisco Scaramanga spin-off miniseries?
    That’s absolutely what I’d do!

SCARAMANGA: THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN
A series focusing on Scaramanga’s rise through the underworld, crossing swords with the likes of Spectre, Zorin, Drax, Quantum etc. as he becomes the most sought-after assassin in the world. And he doesn’t care who’s paying either: he’s just as happy to work on the side of the angels as well as the demons if the money is right.

If you had to do a Bond series without Bond he’s the natural choice: he basically is Bond - cool, witty, stylish, sophisticated, handsome, expensive tastes, cool gadgets etc. but he’s also different enough from 007 not to just be filling in for him, because he’s basically a baddie and travels down a very different path. But you’d still feel like you’re in Bond’s world.
Unlike other side characters like Felix he has built-in recognisable iconography like the Golden Gun itself (open the show with a golden gunbarrel!), a signature style of dress (the white suit could be his thing), plus he’s even got a John Barry theme tune!

    Alternatively:
    TIGER AND AKI
Tiger Tanaka and Aki fighting diabolical masterminds on the streets of Tokyo and beyond with their up to date crazy technology: riding around in their secret private train, jets etc.

This could be set up like an anti-hero series. I am reminded of the show The Blacklist with James Spader. Definitely has potential, could be a time period piece (starting back in the 50's or 60's and moving forward to the 70's. Or you could set it in the current modern day.

One of those 'Pimp My Ride' style shows, where Q and the team have mere hours to customise Bond's vehicle before he leaves for his mission. Sometimes they have to deliver the vehicle in the field, a bit of drama getting through customs is inevitable.

I like the idea of a Leiter show and your casting. I think the key with any Leiter show would be to emphasize how he's *not* James Bond and focusing on the different skills and methods Leiter uses to be successful. (Because if Leiter is essentially "American James Bond", he shouldn't be deferring to Bond so much in the movie universe)

Pitch this to EON or better yet, IFP for Scaramanga in particular. This is a story that SHOULD be told.

    The Death of B.

Celebrities reenact scenes from classic Bond films 1-25, with the new ending 007 dies each time.

Skydiving. Gators. Checking into a hotel. Dragons. Car chase(s). Shaving. Cleaning a firearm. Perusing gadgets at Q Branch. Upsetting M. Sword fight. Sumo challenge. Parkour.

This would be like a fictional Fail Army? LOL! Watch Bond get killed instead of surviving these moments. I recall a show called 100 ways to die, or was it 1,000 ways to die. This reminds me of that. Priceless!

I'm with you @mtm EON Scaramanga is way more interesting. My question is can you envision a star? Who is worthy of doing Christopher Lee's portrayal justice?

I feel like a watch company would get in on that too! LOL!

We could see the screen tests of all the hopefuls. Maybe send them out on the town to test their drinking and socializing skills? Perhaps a challenge that emulates scenes from the films?

Now that some of us have watched 007 Road to a Million. Does anyone have ideas on other double-o-7 shows that Amazon could run. We have seen what EON was willing to put their name to!

Or if you want, tell us how you would improve the Road to a Million show for season 2?

I think, like was said in the thread on Road to a Million itself, more explicitly tying in the Bond movies would be useful. Why not even have supporting characters/actors/actresses show up randomly? So we're in the Atacama Desert? Here's Elvis or General Medrano working on behalf of the Controller. Or, look, it's Jane Seymour to deal some tarot cards as a clue to find the next briefcase, etc.
