P.S. Many years ago, I did meet the real life owner of Sanchez's mansion. She was a delightful individual who told us a little about the behind-the-scenes aspects of filming some of LTK at her home.
So, I'd rather have Scaramanga's island, instead, plus, there are many amenities and places for me to explore.

The James Bond Instagram account recently shared a "who would you select as your ally?" post. Besides having some bizarre choices like Chuck Lee and May Day, it got me thinking that it might be fun to choose who we would rather have a friend to help us when the chips are down, or we are battling an evil mastermind!
Would you rather have Quarrel OR Vijay as your ally?
Quarrel, not formally trained as a field agent, but wonderful knowledge of good eating places and local customs and legends. Quarrel was able to help our man get to Crab Key even though he was against going there.
Vijay, a rookie and a tennis pro! Vijay was wonderful at helping our man, driving Tuk-tuks, eluding Kamal's men. Vijay proved to be a useful ally and was able to charm snakes and our man!
Who are you wanting to have by your side when the chips are down and the mission hangs in the balance?
The thing is, Quarrel is an original Fleming character whom Bond really treated nicely as a close friend of his, so that's a plus, but the thing is, in the film, we've never got to see more of his rapport with Bond, it's been a while since I've read Dr. No, but if my memory serves, he had a longer exposure in the book.
And his death was shocking when I've watched it, I don't know but Quarrel's face looked very sympathetic.
Vijay, while not an original Fleming character did proved to be a worthy of an ally, not just an ally, but a friend to Bond too, his banter with Bond was really fleshed out, as much as I'm not a fan of Octopussy, but Vijay is one of the positive, bright things in that film, though, unlike Quarrel, I've never felt anything towards Vijay's death, it's quite violent yes, but the sympathy is not there.
But anyways, maybe I would be leaning more to Vijay, maybe for his longer scenes with Bond.
after some careful thought would seem to favor Vijay as a preferred ally. He's just fun on screen, appears articulate and gregarious and eager to help out.
Quarrel got spooked by a beach crab and believed in fire dragons. Not sure if that's the kind of accomplice you'd want assisting on a mission but at the same time provided valuable information and helped Bond find / reach people and places he wouldn't ordinarily be able without the assistance.
Would you rather have Mary Goodnight OR Stacey Sutton as your ally?
In one corner a rookie Mi6 agent assigned to help Bond in Asia. Goodnight was a beloved book character but this was her only screen appearance. She was able to bungle her way into the mission and seemed to be able to make mistakes with ease.
In the other corner, we have a civilian ally! Stacey Sutton sold house and home, or most of it's contents to fight a tycoon. Known for screaming the name of our man and for not much else. Though to be fair, she did help Bond uncover more of the sinister plot of Zorin.
So who is it going to be, if you can only choose one of these lovely ladies?
I'm with @Creasy47 on all points... Stacy wasn't a bad ally, just annoying with the screeching voice when things were going sideways.
But when they infiltrate Zorin's mine, she has good info (exposition,lol), to feed Bond...
I don't know if it was all her Charlie's Angels detective experience (!), but she's actually pretty good with the exposition in the mine. Compare her to, say, Christmas Jones explaining everything in the submarine.
Versus Mary: "The mushroom looks interesting..." What an inept agent.
So yes, I'd take Stacey over Mary.

@echo I always wondered about that line at the dinner. Was she trying to tell Bond something in code? The way she emphasizes the line makes me wonder what the hell she was doing.
Mary Goodnight was such a redundant and irrelevant character, the film would've been a lot better without her there messing up things, and putting Bond in jeopardy, she never did any help.
