Would you rather drink a Campari fireside with Draco OR a Sherry with an unusually fine solera?

Yeah I know it's not quite right, but what I wrote - that's exactly how it's spelt and worded on the caviar labels in the film. There's always some small anomaly found when you translate the text-based props to English. Every time.

OK, explanation accepted (don't remember the caviar labels). Actually, I always found it more likely that his name should be Zhukovsky (жуковский) as you wrote, so I guess they just goofed the pronunciation in the movie. Just like with Rene Mathis, who should be pronounced like the artist Matisse instead of English-style. Or Dr. Kaufman(n), who should have a second n in the end if he was supposed to be German.

Exactly. Another one that can be added here is last name Sciarra from SP. If you write it like that then the pronunciation should be "Sharra" and not "Skiarra" as they say in the film. If you want it to sound like "Skiarra" the correct spelling would be Schiarra.

Right, good point. I remember we discussed that in some thread several years ago. Just forgot to add this example to my list this time.

PS: In fact, both you (@GoldenGun) and I pointed the "Ski-arra" case out in the "James Bond - Cunning Linguist" thread in February 2017 (I had just joined this board), and later in a thread called "Theories on Lucia Sciarra" (2018) and also "Tell us all about your Bondathon" (2019). Quite easy to find when you enter SCHIARRA in the search box.

Great stuff guys! Wow caviar jars and labels I would never have known.

    Time for the Craig era!

Would you rather sip lattes with Mathis on a sidewalk cafe OR go game hunting with Kincaid in Scotland?

An espresso drink on the patio of a cafe while the police chief is arrested. A chat with a worldly and wise agent might be a fun way to spend the afternoon.

    OR

Head out to the Scottish countryside and hunt with a wise colourful caretaker. Not afraid to put you in your place, also quick with a quip!

Well, latte means nothing more than just milk but if you're referring to latte macchiato I'll go for that one ;). Plus, even though Kincade is my favourite character in SF, Mathis is probably my favourite ally in the franchise so he wins :)

Ha, I don't drink Coffee and though I've given up on alcohol mostly, a good glass of scotch is always welcome, especially after a day of hunting. I'll definately choose Kincade.

Tramping around Scotland sounds too much like hard work. I'll watch the world go by and listen to the stories of an old intelligence pro.

And sit well out of his reach.

Ah yes, that time I pressed the LATTE button on a vending machine in Milan and got a cup of hot milk...

Latte? Well, if you mean cheap wine while Gemma works on her tan...

I'll pick Scotland. I'll skip the hunting and settle for a few wee drams o' single malt.

I love Mathis' character, I loce Italy and my wife is vegetarian (and thus hates hunting). That said, I hate coffee and I love autumn and Scotland is where my ancestors are from, Skyfall looks my dream holiday destination so... I'll have to choose the latter.

Lets do another round this time with some of the females of the series!

Would you rather find Sylvia Trench practicing golf in your flat Or Tatiana laying in bed in your hotel room?

Sylvia loves to play games! Golf and Chemin De Fer spring to mind.

The lovely Tatiana was a picture of perfection as she lied in wait for her man to show up.

Who would you rather find when you return to your place?

    Well played @QBranch well played!

I can only dream that I would have a choice. But if I did, I am leaning towards Ms Trench as I love a woman in a mans dress shirt.

Sylvia. I’d be less paranoid it was a trap!
  • Sounds like a kind of rhetorical question. Guess somehow I'd go with Romanova..

Took a moment to wonder what the responses would have been if Bibi Dahl had been offered instead of Tatiana (Moore before the Ice Cream response) Actually, believe i'd jump at the chance..

Would love to see Ms. Grayson play against Moore! Battle of the eyebrows. The way she arches it...would leave me in a puddle. LOL

Sylvia. By a shot to save par.
A hole in one is attractive, and I do notice Sylvia is gripping a pair of balls which would make any man's putter stand up, but Tatiana looks as if she is interested in more than games. (A nod to Johnny Carson for the putter line.)

Tatiana. Even in my deepest sleep and dream. Reasons are...Daniela Bianchi is one of the most beautiful Bond girls ever, along with the likes of Zena Marshall and Jane Seymour. Plus, I'm supposed to have a towel wrapped around my waist when I approach her in bed, right? B-)

Great stuff! Lets move onto the ladies of the Moore films

Would you rather find Bibi Dahl in your bedroom OR Magda at your table?

An Olympic athlete with breath control and muscle tone. She is a cute young thing that has fans everywhere.

    Or

A circus performer known for her pick pocket skills and her ability to negotiate!
