Would you rather drink a Campari fireside with Draco OR a Sherry with an unusually fine solera?

I didn't think Tosca was for everyone. Will have to talk to my friend Mr. White.

One small remark on the villain-name or character actor - i dont think we want a new Bond dissapear in the light of a well-know villain-actor.

Tosca for me as well. Keep the fruit.

Seems we like Tosca! Lovely to see these results.

Lets move on to another scenario!

Would you rather watch Sir Sean in Goldfinger OR in Diamonds Are Forever?

Both films directed by the same chap. Both feature Sir Sean. But the tone and scope of the films is very different. I wonder which one is likely to be thrown into your Blu Ray player?

Goldfinger is often seen as the "gold standard" of the series and had many moments that the series has mined and become tropes. Diamonds is often seen as the one that launched the Moore era. A witty script helps it along and the camp is rather high in this one.

  • Goldfinger personally. Especially after my latest rewatch; I’m convinced that Goldfinger is peak Connery.

Goldfinger, like @007ClassicBondFan ,had a great watch of it recently!

Goldfinger. Great character chemistry with all characters. I'm not surprised that EON tried to bring Goldfinger back with Connery. Yet, I'm kind of surprised that only Dynamite Comics has!

Hmmm, it’s like asking, would you like prime rib or beef jerky? Now, I like beef jerky, but…

GF is better but DAF has more rewatchability.

    Goldfinger

    Great analogy @talos7 :)
DAF is hugely watchable, with a wonderful script and characters. But it's almost hard to believe this is the same Bond, even though both films star Connery as well as both being directed by Guy Hamilton.
With GF Connery and the film as a whole, Bond retained at least some of the Fleming influence.
    GF for me.

Yes, one mans prime rib is another mans beef jerky! LOL!

Okay I was listening to some Bond soundtrack tunes and thought we should try one of those.

Barry did some wonderful scores over the years for the films. They have a different sound but yet hold true to the series. Lets pit two that are very different:

Would you rather listen to the soundtrack of You Only Live Twice OR the soundtrack of On Her Majesty's Secret Service?

The films are back to back but yet the musicality is very different. Tell me which one you are playing on Spotify, or in a CD player. Try to pick one and tell us what you enjoy about the soundtrack.
  • Majesty’s for me. The soundtrack for the film is Barry’s Magnum Opus imo. Though I absolutely adore YOLT’s soundtrack.

That is probably the toughest choice presented to me so far in this thread.
I rank OHMSS and YOLT as the 1st and 2nd greatest Bond soundtracks respectively.
While OHMSS may objectively be the superior score, YOLT is the score I listen to most often, thus probably making it my personal favorite.

OHMSS for me, but both are fantastic. OHMSS is my personal favorite score of the whole series, and I've listened to it the most on its own of any of them. Some of my personal highlights include Try, Journey to Blofeld's Hideaway, Journey to Draco's Hideaway, Gumbold's Safe, Bond Meets the Girls, and Escape from Piz Gloria. TB-YOLT-OHMSS was collectively John Barry's peak IMO, but it never got better than OHMSS, which represents a creative peak for the golden age in several ways.

It's a tie to me. The two scores are simply too good. Barry scored them with the same energy.

Majesty's, but only just. YOLT is one of the most beautiful and pleasant pieces of music I've heard. It's perfection

I think Arnold used YOLT as a template for QoS. Capsule In Space & Night At The Opera do sound alike. The YOLT influence also appeared again in his N.Peal ad music. Anyway, YOLT & OHMSS are Arnold's favourite Bond films & scores.

If I was to be stuck on an island and could have only two Bond soundtracks to listen to for the next ten years, they would be YOLT and OHMSS. If, however, I could only take one ..... OHMSS would get the vote.

    Confession time:

I was as a teen in the 1970s so obsessed with OHMSS that I ... umm, er ... "borrowed" the soundtrack from my local library only to return it about twenty years later.

So, yes ... the answer would be OHMSS.
