Anything but snow and ice. I'm even happy with the 1 to 5 degrees C (plus!), drizzle-tainted winters of Northern Germany as long as I don't have to clear my driveway. You could insist on Irma Bunt or Rosa Klebb to be my company, and I'd still vote for the tropical island. The alps are nice in summer, but winter is something I don't need.

You prefer 5C drizzle and wind over snow and ice? I'd rather have it the other way around! We get plenty of drizzle and the cold getsu nder your clothes due to the humidity. Hell, I'd rather be in the mountains. Cold under 0 you can dress against.

tbh I really want to be in the mountains right now, but beeing in Thailand isn't bad either. I've been to both, and Austria is at a driving distance. I'll go for that. Especially in this season.

That's why German car drivers love the Dutch: clogging up the Autobahn with their caravans in order to get to the Alps. :D

Thankfully in spring you guys return the favour by clogging up our roads to camp between the flowerfields.... :-P

You never see that happen in the Ruhr... why not, it's just another industry..

Good stuff! Looks like a Christmas time visit to Austria would be welcome by many.

Lets see what cuisine choice we would prefer?

Would you rather dine on fine French cuisine in Paris (A View to a Kill) or enjoy street food in Mexico City (Spectre)?

So, fly soup or yellow dust. What looks good?

For the food, I'd pick Paris. However, if travel to the destination is included, I'll take Mexico (never been there...but about 15 times to Paris).

Tough one. Paris is a tourist trap and you need to be sure where you eat. But I guess I can assume it's proper gastronomie. I am curious about authentic Mexican cuisine, but I don't tolerate spicy food as I used to. I guess French by default.

Well, the French have somehow convinced the world that they make tasty food, but in fact they eat snakes, frogs and all sorts of intestines - butchers' waste. So no thank you.

Mexican food is very tasty, but you have to be careful. It's the most spicy as well if you don't pay attention. Even the burger king hands out extra spicy sauce instead of ketchup.

Still, I'll go for Mexican. I once ate at a hostel there and the owner made absolutely delicious food. I'd gladly go back and try it again.

All I remember of Paris and food was the waiter putting bread in his ears so he wouldn't hear himself playing 'au chance elisee'. As was said. Overrated tourist trap.

I love making enchiladas so would be interested in authentic Mexican style.

Interesting to see how people chose here. I like the casual atmosphere of street food, but I have always wanted to visit Paris. I would choose French cuisine.

Okay lets do a vehicle showdown!

Would you rather drive the iconic Aston Martin through Scotland (SF) or pilot a jet boat through the Thames (TWINE)?

Aston Martin through Scotland. The Thames is just too filthy.
