One of many reasons QOS is such an easy rewatch for me is its shorter runtime, for sure.

One of the QoS reviews (Variety?) said that it felt like the postscript to CR. That's about right.

Ditto. I don't love FYEO as much as most of fandom appears to but I find it infinitely superior to QOS. (My ideal double feature option from these 4 films would be OHMSS/CR.)

I love and adore FYEO personally. Moore’s more understated performance in the film is one of my favorites, plus it merges elements from two of my favorite Bond films (FRWL and OHMSS) nicely imo. In fact, I sometimes think of FRWL/OHMSS/FYEO as sort of an “unofficial” trilogy.
That is one cool double bill @PrinceKamalKhan lots of bang for your buck there.
I would go for OHMSS & FYEO but I think it would be too jarring.
So I’ll take the CR & QOS pairing.
Had Sir Rog played Bond in OHMSS in ‘69 with a better follow up in DAF in ‘71. Then a final film in ‘81 with the visit to Tracy’s grave it could’ve been epic.
Because, I don't see FYEO as a sequel to OHMSS, anyway, and it's a bit insulting that it took many films before they've acknowledged Tracy's grave, like after so many years, why Bond just decided to visit Tracy's grave in 1981 all of a sudden, when he could've done that earlier? Just didn't makes sense.
For me, LTK is the better double bill partner of OHMSS with the tragedy of Felix/Della wedding triggering Bond, and Della's death reminded him of Tracy, and he avenged the couple, something that he never done for Tracy.
And for me, Moore's performance felt foreign in FYEO, I think that film would've been better as Dalton's debut, at least (as how the film was meant to be, an introduction for the new Bond actor), and makes sense, since the film was written with him in mind, and also with a younger female lead, and I think that film would've been for better had Dalton starred in it, Moore's performance in FYEO felt an odd one out for me, just strange and odd (or maybe even weird, it felt un-moored; no pun intended).
And I think it would create a better effect in terms of storyline:
* Dalton's Bond started visiting Tracy's grave
* Then in LTK, the killing of Della would reminded him of Tracy's grave, and goes out of avenge her death.
I think Dalton's Bond would've been a better successor to Lazenby's Bond.
CR/QoS are more coherent in storyline.
Still, Lazenby should've done DAF as a sequel to OHMSS, then if that's the case, not even close, I would choose that one.
But for now, CR/QoS would get my vote.
I think I would take the OHMSS/FYEO combo for now, but that might change when I do the Craig films back to back.
Lets do another double bill faceoff! This one might be more interesting, or at least spark some discussions.
Would you rather watch a double bill of DN or FRWL OR SP and NTTD?
The first two films in the series against the final two in the series...for now anyway. Which two are you watching back to back.
DN/FRWL has some continuity with Dr. No being mentioned by Kronsteen. Trench shows up for the second, and last, time. We have SPECTRE getting more fleshed out.
SP/NTTD we get more into the relationship of Swann and Bond. We get a Blofeld resolution. We complete and tie up some threads from SP and even have Bond and M with some character development.
So which is your double bill?
Dr No is pretty average and it does have the early instalment weirdness whereas I wouldn't go so far as to say FRWL is perfect, but it pretty darn close.
On the other hand, I am one of NTTD's biggest fans and while I find things to like about Spectre it's less than the sum of its parts, chief among them the botching of Madeleine's character that thankfully NTTD manages to salvage.
I'm going to be annoying and say it depends on my mood, if I want a hit of pure 60s Bond cool, I'm going Connery and if I want to have a good old cry with my Bond then it's Craig.
