Oh, I wouldn't like Bond to emulate those films! Not a fan myself! I agree with @Birdleson, would love to see the title of the next one appear, but I doubt we will see that again sadly!
James Bond
will return in,
From A View To A Kill
It was exciting to wonder what this next adventure might be. Could anything be revealed by the title? Where would it take us?
And then the next film left us with James Bond will return and has done so ever since. It's something I have to wait for during the credit roll.
The minimum I want is, James Bond will return. I'd like to add, James Bond will return in...
However that's unlikely unless EON have a plan going forward, and the films return to a more frequent release schedule.
JAMES BOND WILL RETURN IN
SERPENT'S TOO7TH
Wait, that was a just an example - this comic will not be adapted for reasons. 😅
Likewise, they could write an original two-parter with just the first film revealing the next title.
@Benny I must be the same vintage of you, though my first experience with the title reveal was with MR "James Bond will return For Your Eyes Only". I remember thinking, I wonder what that will be about and will Jaws return? LOL!
Okay our very first would you rather was a choice between Roger films. Lets look at Sir Sean and pit a couple of movies of his and see what performance of Sean we prefer. Try to just consider the performance of Sean as Bond and not the film as a whole, though I suppose it might bleed through.
Would you rather watch Sean's performance in FRWL OR Sean's performance in TB?
Same director, same scriptwriter, Sean in 1963 versus Sean in 1965. One of the films is a series highlight, which is remarkable since you consider it was the second film. The other is polarizing, however many single out Sean and say he has a breezy confidence in the role.
Which film performance do you prefer from Sean?
However, I don't think he was as cool in any other film as he was in TB. In or out of the Bond series.
I enjoy FRWL as a film more, but TB has some of my most favourite Bondian moments from Sean
But I'll have to go with FRWL. Connery in that film was the perfect blend of Fleming Bond and Cinema Bond.
I love Thunderball and Connery was doing his thing here but in FRWL he is Fleming's Bond.
He looks amazing.
He's so effortlessly cool.
He kills when talking about “that gun; looks more fitting for a woman.” Largo asks if he knows much about guns, and Connery-Bond digs him with “No. But I know a little about women”….
Scene after scene he’s the one I want to watch.
From Russia With Love is the better film, but the Connery who shows up in Thunderball is a man who has mastered this character and it fits him like a glove.
My top 2 Connery Bond films. Just something how Terence Young's style and the way he directed Sean. Anyway my vote definitely goes to TB. He was at apex as Bond in his 004th adventure and his superconfidence in the role is at his zenith here:

Those who feel that way, I would like to know which scenes in particular, what you would have preferred to see, and how you would have directed SC differently.
I love the sequence where he prowls around Shrublands at night. His glance at the room where he sees the curtain move. The way he changes his stride and look.
The scene where he tells Domino about her brother's death. The hand shake when he offers her the personal effects. Tender. Even putting the sunglasses on before laying the news on her, shielding himself from her pain.
Lots of nuance for me in his TB performance. Not to slight his performance in FRWL, but I like the overall performance in TB.
In 2021 Amazon purchased MGM and effectively became a partner, or a boss, of EON. EON was quick to say nothing would change in regards to Bond. They shot down any thought of Bond becoming a stream only property and stated that Bond would always be shown in theatres.
Since the purchase Amazon appears to be okay with EON taking their time to develop the next film. No statements, no pressure or any chatter about Amazon wanting Bond content for Prime.
However I have to ask,
Would you rather that EON continue to control the Bond franchise and the film schedule OR Amazon exert some pressure on EON to get moving on a new film?
Lets face it we are all dying for another film to come out. Barbara has stated a few times that they haven't even started to develop a new film. Optimistically that would likely mean a 2025 or 2026 release for the next film.
Could Amazon or should Amazon get more involved and push EON to start developing the next one sooner? Should they dictate a schedule going forward? Or are you comfortable with EON handling things as status quo?
